Just tried to log in up to 20 cogs having spent a fair bit of money to build up cogs. Told I received an email telling me 20 cogs was about to close. No such email received. Completely unreasonable way to proceed.

Really annoyed that the site has closed down. I was not a regular user but I had spent money to activate some of the offers. I had built up quite a bit but hadn't finished all my cogs. I received no email to warn me about the site shutting down either. Feel like my money has been stolen. Its terrible they should honour the money that has been earned!

Not happy to find that the site is now closed. I had finished all my cogs and was waiting for the final one to track before cashing out. I never received an email saying that they were closing and don't recall seeing anything that said you had to cash out by a certain date. I've had problems with my laptop so haven't been able to access the site. I paid out money knowing that I would get more back in the end and now I have nothing to show for it!! If they're still going, (I saw a post that said they've set up a better website) then why can't people still claim what they are owed?? I honestly don't think it's right.

Went to log in and seen they have now closed, Iâm not a regular daily user as just did a few cogs at a time with my daughter as she had an account as well. Neither of us received any email but apparently it looks like they only gave 30 days notice which would not have been enough time for us as we were only half way through but spent money on getting the cogs we did complete. Absolutely disgusting that they can just close this down and set up a new one without paying out what they owed. Both myself and my daughter have now lost out on a lot of money. They will no doubt do the same with the next company! I will be looking out for their next company to leave a review to warn others and direct them to these reviews so they know the kind of company they are dealing with.

NO email received stating it was closing like others have said.
Clearly set up as a scam.... taken referral money from the affiliates and run off with it before people got a chance to cash out. I was "owed" around £200 with a fair few cogs left to go. Now they immediately set up a new site, probably to go and do the same.
Worst of all is many of the cogs I only paid out for knowing the cashback would be higher, so have lost money because of them.
Absolute bunch of thieves and director(s) need to be struck off and their new site shut down / prevented from operating business like this as clearly they are just going to do the same again.

To everyone complaining below, I understand their frustrations however not only did I receive the email but the massive banner on your website was there saying you were closing for months now. Total rip off
Total rip off. They only send âcogsâ which have expired or you have already completed. On the rare occasion they send a new âcogâ the link is normally broken and all you get is a 404 error.
Now they have decided to close without notifying anyone. They claim to have sent out emails but no one seems to have received them.
They are still inviting people to complete âcogsâ, none of which are available. They are in breach of agreement by not fulfilling their part and now with the unannounced closure they should now pay every person with an active account as 20Cogs have already received their payment and the term which states they will only pay on 20 completed cogs constitute a breach of the unfair contract terms act as it benefits the company to the detriment of the customer. A bunch of rip off merchants.

I am also having trouble with 20cogs.
I have completed all 20 cogs but one cog persists on amber. They will not pay out until all 20 are green. They are due to close on 1st August - I feel this is a delaying tactic to deprive me of my money.

Disgusting company! I hadnt been on for a little while due to dealing with a few deaths in our family within a couple months. I log on this month to discover they are closing!!!! I did NOT receive notification this was happening! I also discovered many of my cogs from May are grey, they wont help with them. I am now only getting offers ive already done on remaining cogs, therefore they are going to keep all of my money! Ive tried raising tickets which they either ignore, or give me a robotic unhelpful response, and then immediately close my ticket making sure i cant reply! They seem to be doing everything to make sure those 20 cogs dont turn green! Absolute thieves!

Just discovered they are closing. No email was received about that fact and I'm not the only one to say so. So I had 7 days to complete the last 6 cogs to have access to my balance (£166+). I have paid out to take the trials offered, 20cogs have received the affiliate payout from the retailer. Therefore they MUST settle all member's balances, otherwise, that could be considered theft. I've heard they are starting a new venture rather than sorting out this mess. I will be doing my utmost to ensure that venture fails UNLESS they pay out to existing members who have not completed 20 cogs!

I do not have any grey cogs that haven't tracked, I have 6 I haven't started. I do not have the time (or inclination now) to complete them. Further info of interest - the parent company, Submission Technology Ltd, is also the owner of OhMyDosh, cashback.co.uk and previously, paidoffers.co.uk (which apparently they just shut down in the same way as 20Cogs, and were rebuked by the ASA, so they have previous - you have been warned!). For those who may be interested in contacting the parent company to attempt to get "your" money, they have pocketed. I left a comment on their Facebook page and it was mysteriously removed. Let's all get on their case to get "our" money!

Shocking customer service
First of all, giving one month's notice about closing down is not an acceptable amount of time. Particularly when they take on average 5 days to respond to messages, not the 2 days that they claim.
Secondly, the site is full of bugs, which I have flagged and I received a response which didn't even address the numerous issues I am experiencing. It's as if they are responding to someone else's message completely.
It's both baffling and frustrating and it's as if they don't care anymore since they are on their way out, which is not acceptable.
They claim that they have addressed all queries when they haven't, and they close tickets before you even have a chance to reply! They are sarcastic and clearly and have no respect or consideration for their customers.
They have just replied with "The site is closing in two weeks time, as such, I am sure you can appreciate we are not investing any resources on the site at this stage." This speaks volumes. They know about the bugs and are choosing to do nothing about them.
I would say stay well away, but thankfully they will be gone soon!
