SicherheitslÌcken + Löschen von kritischen BeitrÀgen im Forum und Sperrung von Nutzerkonten

3CX hat in den letzten Monaten zwei SicherheitslÌcken in seiner Software veröffentlicht. Bei der ersten LÌcke handelte es sich um einen Supply-Chain-Angriff, bei dem die 3CX Desktop App mit Malware infiziert wurde. Die zweite LÌcke ermöglichte es Angreifern, auf Dateien und Daten in der 3CX Desktop App zuzugreifen und diese zu manipulieren.

Beide SicherheitslÌcken wurden von Nutzern frÌhzeitig gemeldet. Bei der ersten LÌcke reagierte 3CX zunÀchst nicht, sondern erst, nachdem die LÌcke von einem unabhÀngigen Sicherheitsforscher veröffentlicht wurde. Bei der zweiten LÌcke reagierte 3CX zwar schneller, aber die Bearbeitung der LÌcke dauerte immer noch mehrere Wochen.

Die Reaktion von 3CX auf kritische Stimmen zu den SicherheitslÃŒcken ist ebenfalls bedenklich. Im 3CX-Forum wurden mehrere BeitrÀge von Nutzern gelöscht, die sich kritisch ÃŒber den Umgang von 3CX mit den SicherheitslÃŒcken Àußerten. In einem Fall wurde sogar der Account eines Nutzers gesperrt, der einen kritischen Beitrag verfasst hatte.

Die Löschung von kritischen BeitrÀgen und die Sperrung von Nutzerkonten ist ein undemokratisches Verhalten, das nicht toleriert werden sollte. Es zeigt, dass 3CX nicht offen fÌr konstruktive Kritik ist und sich nicht an einer offenen Diskussion Ìber Sicherheit beteiligt.

Empfehlung:

Nutzer sollten sich vor der Verwendung der 3CX-Software Ìber die SicherheitslÌcken und den Umgang von 3CX mit Kritik informieren. Unternehmen sollten sich Ìberlegen, ob sie die 3CX-Software einsetzen wollen, da die Sicherheit der Software nicht gewÀhrleistet ist.

Not a reliable partner

3CX used to be a good PBX we used for several customers. There was a free version available, what we used for non-profit organisations where a paid version is not an option.
Now, suddenly, the free self hosted version is not available anymore. There is no need and no use of putting the PBX into the internet. That means, that al the work we did for configuration is lost because of the company's decision to force people to move into the cloud.
That shows how unreliable the company is: If you use their products, you might suddenly have to start again from scratch. We moved the first installs to Freepbx/Asterisk. Since the experience was good so far we started moving the others as well and luckily we won't have to renew any 3CX licenses anymore.

We believe this pricing is highly competitive and represents a valuable investment for businesses seeking a robust and efficient PBX solution.

We understand that 3CX may no longer be the option you're choosing therefore we wish you all the best with the alternative PBX system you've selected. Your experience and insights are valuable, and we appreciate the time you spent with 3CX.

I had a partner install a phone system


I had a partner install a phone system a good while ago, and I need support. All efforts to reach the partner were fruitless. I contacted chat support and conversed with someone named Fedai. He had someone contact my partner, and he gave me a little info.

I don't know if I will get all of the support I want, but Fedai was able to contact the partner and get a commitment from him to respond.

And Fedai warned me to look out for the license renewal, which is due in March. That will avert any surprises in case the partner is not on top of his game.

This interaction with Chat Support was very helpful; Thank you Fedai!

Update: the partner cantacted me at the beginning of of this week, and my two biggest problems have been solved. At this point we can manage, and make make changes when its convenient. Thanks again Fedai!

Generally good

Generally good. Once in a while, you get an agent that isn't as helpful. Mine was Michael. Just made it upsetting for me because his responses were vague and stressing. I do my best to find answers before asking Customer Service but he pointed me right back to them and when I'd state I'd already tried that, he either wasn't following my question or just gave unhelpful suggestions. I'd have given 3 stars if not for the last helpful agent that attended to me before this review.
