Crappy Device
Worked one month and they told me to update it. The update made the device completely die. They want me to send back to China and promise to send a new one but I have to pay to ship it. They website said no returns, so Iâm just going to toss this one and look for something sold in USA.
These people are totally crooks
These people are totally crooks. Not only does device not work, they make it next to impossible to return. They will not answer questions, and the cost of return to China is more than the cost of device. Donât be misled by reviews on their website. Go elsewhere for reviews and you will see they are a total scam.
Delivery very bad!
I had already tried to buy, but the last delivery was lost, the money was returned by Paypal, not by the manufacturer.
I tried to make a new delivery by paying $ 29.95 more. This time the shipment arrived (in 12 days, not the 2-3 indicated on the site), but I had to pay 13.41 Euros for customs duties !!
I tried to ask for assistance, but got no answer.
I was forced to open a new PayPal complaint.
Dodgy company
I got the dongle delivered in fair time, but I had plenty of initial problems to get it running.
Afters som hard work the dongle started working.
I tried both rating and asking question on their web site, but none of them showed up which leads me to believe that they do not publish any real posts.
All reviews are 5 star and they are most certainly made up by the company itself. AND they do it continuously.
Never buy this product
Bought their CARPLAY2air dongle and received one that did not work for my VW Polo 2018. Contacted their customer service who told me I needed to firmware update it through IP: 192-168-2-5 It solved the problem and they told me to update it regularly.
A year later when I sit in the car the update runs in loop and never stops. It just keeps trying to connect to my iPhone in loop.
I again contact customer service who would like to exchange it for a new unit - BUT I had to send the old one back to China from Denmark (which costs the same as a new one in postage) which I had to pay.
It's a huge problem that they can send out an update that destroys the dongle forever and on top of that will not take responsibility for it.
In addition, they do not bother to spend time reading the emails, they often answer something completely different than what you ask for.

Bought for 129 then in a week the price went to 99 I reached out for a price match and they said because the order is processed they could not honor the price. I paid through PayPal and I know that is a bunch of bull. I would have returned it but there return policy is even worse. Stay away.

I do not recommend to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and money. Iâve had it less than a month. Since day one out of box it disconnects and reconnects non stop, sometimes 10 or more times and this happens every few minutes. Instructions are vague. Itâs a lightweight piece of plastic no buttons or indicatorsâŠvery expensive doesnât do the job. For any car drive itâs useless having radio, music or navigation interrupted every few mins. This isnât a Kickstarter campaign this should not happen. I really hoped itâd resolve on itâs own because been looking for wireless CarPlay option. Troubleshooting, firmware updates, setting up again multiple times useless. Itâs unusable and I basically put it back inoriginal box now sits in my trunk. Customer service says needs a video recording to keep troubleshooting. Troubleshooting? This is a new device w issues. I donât want a exchange itâs senseless now learning the # of pple w same issue. add in fact itâs real complicated for the buyer-itâs drop shipped directly from overseas, no option doing return in the U.S. Would be international shipping paid out of my own pocket lessening the likelihood of a return from buyers. They sent me a link to review I added this review on their site well it didnât post. This isnât some $30 adapter, Iâm highly disappointed and ripped off. UPDATE: a few weeks later their sales rep emails saying thereâs a promo of $99 for an adapter, I replied back about my dilema. I receive no reply, well a few days later I get an email reminder from him again that the promo is almost up. Unbelievable.
Excellent Customer Service, Great Product
Was slightly worried by the online comments concerning customer service but I couldnât fault Irene who kept in contact all the way through the shipping process. I was provided with shipping info for most of the journey and the adapter arrived when they said it would. So, does it work? Weâll, yes....most of the time! When I plugged it into my Jaguar I-Pace it connected and voila! Wireless Apple CarPlay! And 99% of the time when I get in with my phone in my pocket, it just connects. And then occasionally it doesnât. But...all you have to do is unplug the adapter from the usb and plug it in again and, for the convenience it provides, itâs well worth that slight, occasional, glitch. Great product!
And, a couple of weeks later, whether it was updated over the air I donât know, but it now works 100% of the time. Not failed once!

This is a total scam. I purchased it, came from China, plugged it into my car and all I got was a pretty red light. No connection, nothing. So I went through all of the troubleshooting steps that support provided and was ultimately instructed to send it back. At MY cost. Of $127.60, which is basically the cost of the device. Plus a potential $25 restocking fee if they disagree with my decision to send it back. They refused to refund the amount, so I threw it in the garbage and disputed the charge with my credit card. DO NOT BUY THIS FROM THIS COMPANY!

Been using theCarPlay2Air adapter with my 2020 Toyota Aygo since October 2020 and have to say it works perfectly, I've had none of the issues that many reviewers mention. Since it's working well I don't plan to do any update on the basis of "it ain't broke so don't fix it"

I purchased the CarPlay2air product in early 2020 for my 2016 Honda Accord EX (explicitly listed as supported advice). Initially, I upgraded the to the latest firmware and saw it working, but I quickly learned that this does not last more than 5 or 10 minutes.
Problems I still experienced after 1 year sending in support evidence included...
- Map freeze ups (map stopped updating image) and pixelation
- Screen freeze ups (lower Infotainment screen becomes unresponsive)
- Screen goes black (lower screen goes completely black, all controls unresponsive)
- Car's Infotainment system freezes up (BOTH screens blink, freeze, unresponsive and go to black)
The above issues usually occur in progression. The only resolution that worked was to pull over, turn off the car, wait at least 10 seconds and then turn it back on without the CarPlay2air device plugged in.
Significant concern was that simply unplugging the CarPlay2air device was not enough to resolve the issue. Instead, it appeared to have corrupted the functioning of the infotainment system beyond removing the CarPlay2air device, requiring one to turn off the car, wait and turn it back on to return to full functionality of the carâs infotainment system.
Most concerning was that the non-functional Infotainment system sometimes persists even after turning the car back on (both screen remained completely black; or partial display on upper screen with periodic returning to black as if trying to reboot itself though some issues). The good news that in these cases, eventually the infotainment system functionality did come back after more cycles of turning off the car for longer periods of time, then restarting the vehicle.
Clearly, this is not a fully functional product as well as it even raises concerns about permanent damage to the carâs infotainment system. Since I have professionally worked in product firmware development, I felt that I could help the CarPlay2air development team by providing specific evidence of my issues.
Over 1 full year of owning the product, I spent many hours collecting objective evidence (created videos of infotainment system by occasionally mounting a camera in my car) and sending it into the company to then wait for a newer version of the device firmware only to find the same issues remained and having to collect more evidence and send it in. My effort even included taking my car in for dealer service to make sure I had the latest infotainment firmware version.
My final straw was this last week, when I upgraded to a new firmware version that resulted in my device is now reporting a permanent Hardware Error. When I contacted Support they responded withâŠ
Upon checking, your adapter is no longer under the warranty period.
At this point, we can no longer process a replacement.
When I pressed them since I have been graciously submitting video evidence trying to resolve the same issue for over 1 year, they then offered a 10% discount for new hardware.
I strongly recommend not trusting this product nor hoping that their support team will resolve any issues you may experience.

I have orderd the device by end of November 2020 and according to tracking it says delivered 22nd DEC 2020 but i did NOT get the device and wasnât even at home. CPLAY2air support is absolutely useless. I checked multiple times with Hermes but they say i need to get in touch with the seller and the seller is useless. multiple e-mails but none of them are usefulâŠ.

I would not recommend this product. I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado and tried hooking it up. Didn't work so I asked to return the device. I have now received no less than 5 emails with them wanting to troubleshoot.... All I want to do is return the item. Filed a complaint with Paypal as a result.
