Surfing in paradise
Thanks to a special offer I could afford Hudhuranfushi and it was a dream. From the pickup at the modern airport to the room perfectly situated to the spot and absolutely quiet, everything went smoothely. Lohis, Ninjas, Sultans and even Cokes were not crowded and without any wind I could score perfect waves in really warm water and three times saw a turtle, twice dolphins and once a manta ray next to my board!

They helped me to find a destination better than I could have possibly imagined. They're very knowledgable in adventure travel and really helped me to find something perfect for me. Whole process was very smooth, responsive and easy from booking to arrival to departure. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing 3-week trip in the Maldives! I got to surf a variety of waves, from private resort breaks to local spots, and even spent time on community islands, which was really special. The mix of luxury resorts, smaller boutique stays, and authentic local life made the experience unforgettable. Every day was a perfect balance of surfing, exploring, and relaxing. I’d highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to meet the Maldives fully!

Luex were a pleasure to deal with, and arranged everything for our trip, met at the arrivals gate, and transferred to the waiting Dhoni in Male. No surprises, no omissions, just as they said it would be. I would highly recommend using Luex for your Maldives adventure, though I'm in the UK and Luex is based in Germany, it was one of the easiest, personal bookings I've made, and they feel like the people next door to deal with.

This holiday through Luex was simply an incredible experience, completely different as a whole from any other trip to date, but one that I'd really like to repeat now. 8 days and nights aboard the Gahaa, a traditional Maldivian Dhoni transiting through the atolls stopping off for fly fishing, popper fishing as we went, and trolling while we moved from place to place. A stunning place to visit, a fantastic crew that took great care of us. The time went far too quickly, but I'd strongly recommend this boat adventure as an alternative way to see much more of the Maldives than sitting on a resort island.

The boat is not in the luxury category, but very roomy, comfortable, and ideal for a couple, family or small group of friends. The boat's crew are really friendly, and look after you really well, the food was first class with lots of fresh fish on the menu, some caught that day. The food can be a mix of traditional or more European, but I'd recommend the traditional Maldivian/Indian ocean area cuisine that the chef onboard can provide, from small eats to full meals with a great selection of dishes to select from.

They go out of their way to ensure that your wishes are catered for, be that fishing, snorkelling, surfing, visiting inhabited islands or uninhabited islands and sandbars. The vessel has it's own tender to transport you ashore anywhere you should wish, and the crew are happy to drop you off and collect again on your timelines. The captain, once he knows what your key focus is, would come and speak with us to arrange the itinerary for the next day, not ridged, but just to ensure that you could do what you wanted to do, and how he'd schedule to get that for you.

I'm quite long in the tooth, and reasonably well travelled, but this was a unique experience in my life to date as a whole holiday experience, perhaps not for most, but I'd highly recommend shrugging of the luxury frills, and chilling out for a while on an exceptionally special traditional vessel where life moves at a slower pace and provides you with the time to appreciate where you are, and enjoy the passions you have, be that fishing, surfing, snorkelling with the fish, or just watching an incredible part of the world go by while you relax and chill out.

Cabins are compact, but comfortable, and with the hatch window open, and the fan on, very comfortable, even in the 30 degree+ heat. Plenty of areas to chill out, with the back covered seating area, the front covered seating area, and the top roof deck or the forward lower deck areas for soaking up the sun.

Although our group was very small, the vessel can easily accommodate up to eight people (four couples or if a group sharing cabins as each cabin has a mix of double bed and single bed bunks.)

Very smooth booking and good value for money. Organisation was flawless and Romania was a very fun adventure.
