I absolutely love the idea of this platform. It's not about making an absurd amount of money and trapping people in endless scrolling. It's about curated, high-quality long-form content that really gives the viewer value. It's not backed by any venture capital firm or huge company, but still, the streaming quality is good, there are native apps for all important platforms (yes, even TV), the UI is clean and slick and the streaming just works. :)

If you are tired of the way of content consumption that YouTube or TikTok have taught us or just want to try something new, please check out Nebula, it's really worth it.

Wow! A paid service that is unable to load videos! The content is unbelievably limited, the UI is painful to use, and I didn’t find any way to get my money back. Basically youtube but paid and with 0.5% of content.

The reason that Nebula earned only 2 stars is due to its debilitating buffing issues. I've tested it on different networks and devices and it persists to load slower than the video playing. If you don't download the videos, they won't play higher than 360p. Nebula has very little "good" content. In addition, the "Classes" section is very limited. I would not recommend it unless you want early content from creators that you already like and are willing to download the videos with an extension.

I got Nebula because most a lot of the youtubers i follow are releasing content there. While i love the idea I keep subscribing and regretting it few days later to then unsubscribe and return to YouTube. I would love to be able to stick to it for more then a month moth but every time i open the app i get a lot of random videos on my home page which are completely unrelated to what i usually watch and I never find any video of the channel im subscribed. I dont think many people actively search for each channel they are subscribed to see a video and i would like to see the Home page with more content from what i have follow. Also, would be great if there was the option to like and comment, bot having it really takes away that feeling of connection you have with the content creator. Many of them conclude a video with “if you’d like me to make a video about this leave a comment” but to do so you essentially need to go back to Youtube, and im guessing that the objective of nebula is to not go on Youtube. You guys have done a great work on amount of content and i feel right now there really is a lot, which makes it very confusing and hard to find things so would love to see you work a bit on the “ease of use” so to say form a user prospective.

In theory this would be worth the subscription for no ads/sponsors and occasionally exclusive content, but in practise discoverability is difficult and critical features like auto-play playlists are missing after years of the platform existing.

I don't see myself regularly using the platform until auto-play playlists are added.

The site's layout is confusing.

It is unclear what the site is trying to be. It is advertised as this exclusive curated platform, but in reality there's no quality control, just friends sometimes inviting their friends to be a creator.

"channels" and "originals" are grouped together, making it look like there's far more content than there really is. Some channels have 5+ "sub-channels" listed in the channel view.

Very low value for money.
In their ads they try to convince in nebula you will see content that the creators are unable to publish in Youtube in fear of being de-monetised.. But in reality what you get in Nebula is **very very** limited amount of content - without frequent updates. Without a good recommender system that would propose you something you really enjoy watching and with a relatively bad UX flow - making it cumbersome to watch interesting videos in a sequence - because after the video ends - you don't easily see other videos in the channel, and have to go back, forgetting where you were, and after you've watched a single video - you really don't get a coherent experience to go "down the rabbit hole" following related tangents and interests from where you started.

I regret having paid for the subscription.

The content there is amazing, the site is slick and easy to use, you get exactly what you are advertised to get.

Works good enough.

Videos very very slow to load. Especially considering that this is a paid service - who's offerings are smaller than free services, and load times are much much slower.

They remove posts raising this issue on their subreddit, so it seems like this is an issue they know about, but want to scrub.
