After reviewing the full project timeline and communication, we’d like to respectfully clarify a few key points:
Technical Drawings:
Our team delivered multiple drawing revisions based on your evolving requirements.
The initial scope was aligned and confirmed in November, with a clear timeline.

In December, you added new requirements — such as wooden side shelves, wall mounting, and reducing weight — which understandably required design recalculations.

After the holiday break and a brief delay due to the designer’s health (which was communicated), we delivered updated versions.

The final version was sent in January and approved by you with positive feedback.
You even mentioned wanting to work with the same designer again in the future — something we truly appreciated.

Logo Design
We worked with a skilled freelancer to bring your vision to life.
Despite timezone differences, you received concepts within 10 business days.
You changed creative direction midway, which we gladly accommodated — including a new butterfly design, font changes, and slogan shifts.
Final delivery was made on February 19, and you described the result as “beautiful.”

NDA & Sourcing
We understand how important confidentiality is.
Once you requested an NDA in February, we immediately moved forward. Unfortunately, many suppliers paused communication while reviewing it — something we also flagged early on.
In March, you agreed to proceed without the NDA to speed things up.

By early April, we secured offers from suppliers and held a call to walk you through everything.

You shared that your target price was $15 per unit. However, the initial quotes we received from suppliers were above your target price due to the level of customization required, the multi-component structure of your product, and the fact that tooling or molds were needed for certain parts.

To try and meet your budget, our team took the following steps:
Sourced from over 12 different suppliers, including both large factories and smaller workshops, to compare capabilities and pricing.
Requested multiple revised quotations based on adjusted order quantities and simplified packaging options.
Explored alternative materials and finishes to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining your design intent.
Negotiated directly with top 3 shortlisted suppliers to seek price reductions and clarify where costs could be minimized.
Proposed removing or simplifying certain design elements that were increasing the unit cost, such as [e.g., custom components or special finishes, if known].

We managed to get the final price of $19 and we communicated this to you transparently and shared the full sourcing results so you could make an informed decision. You ultimately decided to pause the sourcing project at that stage.

We want to be clear:
All delays were either due to new requests, holiday breaks, or supplier response times, not from lack of effort or attention on our side.
Every deliverable (drawings, logo, sourcing) was completed professionally and based on your feedback.
Communication was always transparent, and we did our best to accommodate every shift in direction.

We’re genuinely sorry that this collaboration didn’t end on a more positive note.

Thank you for your feedback. We genuinely value all input, as it helps us improve our services. We regret to hear that you’re not satisfied with how the project has unfolded, as we always strive to ensure our clients are fully informed and satisfied throughout the sourcing process.

We understand that there were concerns about the cost exceeding your initial expectations. As you know a typical sourcing project would take between 25-30 hrs until the beginning of mass production. It’s important to note that the project scope expanded significantly as new requirements and drawings were added over time. Since we operate on an hourly basis, this naturally led to additional costs beyond the initial estimate.

Throughout this process, we have consistently communicated progress and updates, and have remained flexible to your changing requirements. While we understand the complexities of sourcing custom items, we are dedicated to delivering the best results and are still actively pursuing solutions for you.

Regarding the claim of incorrect sourcing, we would like to clarify that sourcing involves an ongoing process of refining samples and aligning them with specific requirements.

We are currently in the sampling phase, where the purpose is to identify and correct any discrepancies in materials or specifications before full production. This phase is crucial for ensuring that all your requirements are met, and we have been consistently transparent about this during our communications.

Moreover, these issues were thoroughly discussed and explained during a meeting with your project manager. We took the time to clarify why certain samples didn’t meet expectations and how the adjustments to your requirements contributed to the additional time and effort needed.

It’s also important to note that you discussed your concerns with Sebastian, our Co-Founder, who took the time to explain each issue in detail and was more than willing to meet with you to resolve any outstanding concerns.

Unfortunately, you didn't agree to take the opportunity to meet in person, which could have helped clarify the situation further.
We value your experience and acknowledge your extensive background in sourcing. Our goal has always been to complement your expertise, not to replace it, and we appreciate your collaboration on this project.

We would be happy to continue our collaboration to see these projects through to completion.
