We purchased the Otter armchair for our bedroom and it has exceeded expectations. It's incredibly comfortable, looks fantastic in the space, and feels very well made. A great addition to the room.

Recently there has been an influx of positive reviews which is ironic seeing as my family have been waiting over 6 months to even hear back about our couch since we purchased/chased and were ghosted for the couch we paid for. These new reviews are interestingly very similar and contradictory to the many other negative experiences other reviewers and my own family have dealt with when purchasing from here. Across all the other lower rated reviews there is consistency in how this business operates. This company should be avoided at all costs unless you want to lose your money.

We've had our Song loveseat for several weeks now and couldn't be happier. It's comfortable, sturdy, and the linen fabric feels premium. The quality is evident throughout and it has quickly become our favourite seat in the house.

Using the travelling showroom was such a worthwhile experience. Instead of guessing colours or comfort levels, we could see everything in our own home and take our time making a decision. We eventually chose the Otter Loveseat and it's lived up to every expectation. The whole buying process felt relaxed and personal.

I'd come across mixed comments before ordering, so I took plenty of time to do my research. In the end, my own experience was very positive. Communication was prompt, the aftercare information was useful, and the Song chaise has proven to be a fantastic purchase. The quality of both the upholstery and the build has really impressed me.

Waiting longer than expected wasn't ideal, but the extra couple of weeks didn't feel unreasonable considering the sofa was being made specifically for us. Our Marnie chaise has exceeded expectations with its supportive cushions, attractive detailing and solid construction. Communication was always helpful whenever we requested an update.

We weren't comfortable buying a corner sofa without trying it first, so we arranged a home visit. The mobile showroom allowed us to compare different models, fabrics and cushion styles without any sales pressure. We chose the Otter corner sofa and it's been a fantastic addition to our living room. The craftsmanship feels exceptional and it's comfortably the most-used seat in the house.

DO NOT GIVE SCAMMERS MONEY! Scam artists! Friend ordered her sofa from here. Not only did the sofa never turn up, the company withheld money and ignore all contact attempts. Their social media account restrict commenting or tagging, clearly to avoid all the scammed customers from calling them out. It’s a scam company and you will not receive anything you pay for. She had to go through bank to claim money as company are unreachable!!!

Got the armchair for my study and I’m really pleased with it. It’s solid and the quality feels proper. They sent fabric samples which helped a lot when choosing. Looks smart and is actually comfortable to sit in for hours.

We ordered the big corner sofa and it’s honestly the most comfortable one we’ve ever had. The fabric feels really nice and it was made to measure so it fits our living room perfectly. Took about 12 weeks but they kept us updated and it was worth the wait.

Our estimated lead time was around sixteen weeks, although delivery ended up being closer to eighteen. While we were keen to receive it sooner, we understood that a made-to-order sofa can sometimes take a little longer. The finished Otter sofa is beautifully made, wonderfully comfortable and the delivery team were professional throughout.

I suspect they have gone bankrupt again. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. they have over £6k for a sofa ordered in Jan 2026 and still no sign. they've stopped replying to emails.

what made them especially fraudulent is they took the 2nd half of payment claiming the item was ready for shipping in March. they must have known full well they were just pocketing the money before going under.

I think they have gone out of business again as they have stopped responding to me .. please don’t give them any money I am literally only waiting for a set of cushions for a chair that I’ve paid a deposit for then nothing they even said they wouldn’t charge me the balance for the cushions as they have taken so long I now realise this was a joke on me because they were never going to come anyway, I’ll be honest I’m the idiot because I gave them some money again, I’ve had emails from directors, accounts apologising etc etc all of them obviously know they are lying it’s actually unbelievable. Honestly I’ve lost my money I can not be bothered to chase any more - they win !

I ordered some fabric from Maker & Son at the end of January. To date, no fabric has been delivered. I have contacted them using the telephone number on their website and left several voicemails. Nobody from their store has returned my call. I have also sent multiple emails and completed their online web form. Nobody from their team has responded.

Scammers and thieves. This company owes me a product or my money back. Taking them to Small Claims Court. If you are in the same position, please do the same. These people need to be held accountable. Would rate -5 if I could, disgraceful company. They have recently changed their office address and have an outdated one on their webpage.

Maker&Son have taken thousands of £££’s from me in deposit, in return…no sofa, no phone calls, no emails once they had the cash. They have disappeared and taken my money with them. I think I have been scammed by a fake exterior. Do not trust this company!

Paid deposit for a chair in June to match sofa I had previously purchased .Was aware of issue with the fabric which was not going to be in stock for a while . Chased delivery date in September . No date given. Chased again and had email that was for a different customer . Have sent numerous emails but no reply since November . Have now asked for refund .

This is my second review of this company. I removed my original review at their request after they pleaded that the business had “changed hands” and assured me that the issues previously raised would not be repeated under new management.

What followed was months upon months of exhausting back-and-forth communication. At one point, the situation deteriorated to such an extent that American Express refunded my £17,000 payment in full due to non-delivery.
Despite this, I was contacted and assured, almost relentlessly, that my sofa would be delivered if I gave the company another chance. I was told the new director was genuinely trying to rebuild the business and put things right. Against my better judgment, and in good faith, I agreed to proceed.

Unlike many other customers, I did eventually receive a sofa. However, this is where any positives end. The seat cushions were filled with incorrect padding, resulting in a noticeably inferior feel and finish. This was not subjective opinion, the director explicitly admitted that the cushions were wrong and of significantly lower quality than what had been agreed.

Despite this clear acknowledgment, no meaningful action was taken to resolve the issue. Instead, I was met with repeated delays, empty promises, and blatant avoidance. After countless attempts to obtain a resolution, communication abruptly stopped altogether. I am now completely cut off, as appear to be many other customers who are also chasing unresolved orders, refunds, or remedial work.

The pattern here is deeply concerning: assurances are made to placate customers, responsibility is acknowledged in words only, and then communication ceases once payment has been secured or pressure subsides.

I cannot stress this strongly enough, do not, under any circumstances, purchase from this company. The financial risk, emotional stress, and sheer time wasted far outweigh any potential ‘luxury sofa’ benefit.

Absolute scam artists. After taking over £7000 of my money in May, and promising delivery five different times (where my sofa never materialised) the company is now completely ignoring my emails, voicemails, and any calls to mobiles are sent straight to vm. Now having to turn to legal assistance to get my money back. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY, you will not get your items and they will not refund you.
