Would give 0 stars if I could. My experience with this company was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Communication was poor, responses were slow, and I often felt like my concerns were being ignored rather than addressed. Promises about timelines and service standards were not met, leaving me frustrated and having to repeatedly chase for updates.

Customer service was particularly frustrating. Different staff members appeared to provide conflicting information, making it difficult to know what was actually happening. When issues arose, I felt there was little accountability and no real effort to resolve problems quickly.
Overall, the experience fell far below my expectations. Based on this fictional example, I would not choose to use the company again and would be hesitant to recommend it to others.

My small business has been using Menzies for over 15 years, and for the last six years, we have utilised their outsourced accounting team. We've had support from about five different teams over recent years, and without exception, the service has been consistently good.

Menzies ( location; Magna House 18/32 London Road, Staines upon Thames, Surrey ) is always happy to support. We are doing business with them for a couple of years, and they provide the payroll for us in a good way. We never have any issues; they react very quickly and provide all details accordingly. We have a fixed contact person in which we have no complaints!

My mother has been using Menzies to do her tax return for many years. She recently asked for some tax advice and was grossly overcharged, for advice that was essentially ‘it’s not a good idea to do that’. As a result, she asked me to do her tax return this year (I am a chartered accountant). Her tax affairs are incredibly simple, and I’d expect that for someone who submits tax returns for a living, hers would take no more than 15-30 minutes. Menzies have been charging her £800, annually, for the privilege. In my view they are extorting people who don’t understand enough about tax matters to know they’re being held for ransom. I’m surprised they aren’t in breach of their ethical standards.

Menzies Distribution, Coventry: Worst experience I’ve ever imagined! “SLAVERY” of the highest order! The Indian Supervisors added salt to the wound by discriminating against black Africans! Worst of all, working Saturday and Sunday is rated as normal days of the week! The UK Anti-Slavery policy need to investigate the way black Africans are being treated here! Regrettable experience!!!

Menzies, my former payroll bureau service provider, left me thoroughly dissatisfied with their lackluster performance. The Myepaywindow software they used was not only hard to navigate but also became inaccessible once employees left, making it a nightmare for them to access essential documents like P45s. Moreover, Menzies' consistent mistakes required constant follow-ups from our end, leading to a significant waste of time and effort.

Their services were not competitively priced, and as a result of their mistakes, we ended up paying salaries to employees who had already left the company. Shockingly, Menzies didn't acknowledge their errors and completely ignored our complaints. Their lack of ownership of various issues caused further delays and even led some of our employees to be overtaxed, creating unnecessary burdens for both us and our staff.

I wish I had read the Trustpilot reviews before deciding to work with them. The negative experiences shared by others would have saved us from this ordeal. Furthermore, the lack of transparency and accountability from Menzies only added to our frustrations. While I won't disclose the names of the individuals I had to deal with, it's worth mentioning that they were based in the Heathrow office.

Dealing with their clunky submission system, delays, general incompetence, financial repercussions, and the taxing issues was the last straw. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Menzies for any payroll services. #AvoidAtAllCosts

Our accountant left the company and we wasn't informed until a few days prior to filing day
Accounts totally messed up so had to change accountants and pay for the accounts to be filed again.
Stay well away from these clowns

Horrible company, don't do business with them, they rip you off

This is for the Wealth Managment business. Their report for over 5 years said our scheme was value for money. But it turned out their analsyis missed out £1200 cost per year - around a 10% charge on money invested!

They had recommened that their proposed scheme "is suitable to meet the requirements of a workplace pension” and that the scheme "is reasonably priced”.

But in this analysis they missed out the cost.

I hoped that when I pointed this out to them, they would say sorry and refund perhaps 2 years of this cost. But they have said they don't have a duty to us on the costs despite their report saying the scheme "is reasonably priced”!

Sad now having to go to the financial ombudsman service.

I have been dealing with Menzies payroll & HR (People Solutions Advisory) teams now for well over a decade plus and can honestly say that amongst all the suppliers I deal with as a Finance Director, their service comes top of the leader board.

Knowing what a complex system payroll can present and how vital it is to any institution that it is run with the utmost efficiency, I am always indebted to them (Alison!) for their incredibly diligent processing & deft handling of this vital component to our business. The Woking Menzies payroll team are a complete godsend to me!

Likewise their HR services are outstanding and we have always had exemplary service from Ed Hussey and his truly committed People Solutions team. I rely on them totally for all HR support & advice and every aspect of running our employee benefit system (big thanks, Karen & Chris too). No task is too tricky for them to deal with (our requests are widely varied and more often than not, last minute.com …!) and they always go the extra mile to ensure that as a client we are 110% happy with the services provided.

They are a real joy to deal with and to my mind also offer brilliant value for money, so I therefore cannot recommend these Menzies services highly enough.

The best experience that I had with Menzies was paying their over-inflated bill and getting rid of them, I would not touch this firm with a barge pole in the future.

They were our payroll provider. As a new CEO in post I have discontinued their services. Their prices are extortionate (over £600/month for a payroll of 3 people) and they made errors with almost everything from tax codes to pension deductions to the point where we often had to get them to redo payrolls 2-4 times. We ended up needing to get our accountant to communicate with them to rectify our errors. It was hard to access payslips on their online portal and historic ones had often disappeared. When I complained I received a very rude response back saying my complaint wasn't warranted before even investigating.

They are clever accountants but also very creative with the billing, Menzies will over charge you and threaten you with solicitors letters if you don't settle your invoices within 3 months. I ended up with them when they bought out my previous accounts business. Within the first year my annual accountants cost went up from £3300 to £6800. The cosy relationship between a business owner and accountant is not something that Menzies do, they are very cold and extremely money driven. I've been in business for over 30yrs but never in my life have I experienced or heard of an accountancy firm who is as un trustworthy as Menzies. Overall my whole experience with Menzies LLP has been quite distasteful.
