Amazing staff and quick service.

Would highly recommend

DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE PLANNING LONG TERM USE. The one year discount seems glorious. We have been paying £203.74 a month inclusive of VAT and store protect for one year. I have just received a renewal quote for a second year at £325.74 a month (over a 50% increase because my “one year new customer discount has expired”) we are saving for a mortgage and have the contents of our one bedroom flat stored here hopefully to fill our house when we buy one. Although unlikely that we’ll be able to buy any time soon with scammers like this adding +£1400 a year to our quote, their new storage price quote is half the price of renting a flat. I can understand inflation and I can understand price increase but this is absolutely criminal and zero justification to amount it has increased by. I spoke with store workers over the phone who basically told me I either front the payment or move on to a different store “like you do with car insurance when your insurance won’t price match”. Yes sure, I’ll just take a days unpaid leave to lug our entire contents out to somewhere else. Please avoid at all costs.!!!!!!

Great customer service! Very helpful and accommodating. We've used the storage space over a few years and we've never had any issues.

The facilities at this location are close to perfection - loading, unloading, protection, re-stacking etc. are all made easy by the efficient equipment on site.

Good friendly service everything explained. Units very clean. Was able to use own insurance which cut the cost. Very easy to set everything up and easy to access units.

We were signed up to a 12 month contract paying for £11k of insurance. £330 per month . 6 months in We found this hard to afford and went into discuss. There is no get out clause at all. We cannot pay back the 12 month discount for those months we cannot change the insurance. Even if we move to a smaller room we are bound by the terms to pay existing monthly fee. We were offered to pay £1600 to cancel the contract. So now we are still paying £330 a month with 11k of cover for an empty storage room. And must continue to pay this somehow until August. Safestore,when signing people into one of your water tight 12 month contracts it should be explained that at NO point can you get out of this. There is NO option. We would have expected to pay the months discount to take back to its variable rate for time used but to be told no there is nothing you can do .. words fail me. Please have your sales people explain this fully when selling these contracts. Your are signing people into a 12 month contract with no option to review if financially things change. Disappointing to say the least .. . Now paying for and having to insure an empty room .. until August. We tried to come in and discuss but were told nothing can be done .. .. so renters of these rooms do not be sold a 12 month contract check the small print carefully. And they will not discuss with you any option to help you at all. Thank you

I used the Safestore facility at Progress Road in Southend On Sea, Essex.
Easily worthy of 5 stars. Suited my needs, and my pocket, perfectly. Great selection of storage rooms.
Very helpful, courteous, and friendly staff.
All in all, I couldn't ask for better.
