Cannot recommend this company at all.
Was initially pleased with the service when arranging to quote for a rewire at my property. After getting quotes back I ended up going with 0800Rewire. There was some confusion as to how many lads would be working on the job as what was discussed was different to what was stated on the quote. I was assured it would be finished within the timescales I discussed with one of the owners (Jake) and not what it said on the quote.
We set a date for the work to be done and the lads turned up. The lads were pleasant and got on with the work with no fuss. There was an issue with a pipe being damaged which caused a slight leak. I wanted assurances this would be resolved properly so it didn't cause issues when my flooring was all back down. I emailed the company to make them aware but got no reply. The issue was sorted by the lads and the job carried on.
After 5 days, the work was nearing completion. I noticed that dust sheets had been applied to wallpapered walls using thick sticky black tape. Sure enough when the lads removed it, it ripped my wallpaper. Once again I notified the company. The lads left and assured me that the job was done and all was well. I mentioned the damage to them also. The day after they left we tried to use the washer and dryer in the garage that had all been rewired and the electrics kept tripping. They aren't open weekends so I called them on Monday and they sent someone out. After about an hour he said it was sorted. I asked what the problem was and he said the breaker in the box wasn't sufficient to deal with the load in the garage. There had been 3 qualified electricians at my property all week and the manager visited when I had popped out and none of them realised this in the time they were working here?? His solution was to connect new wiring to an old breaker in a part of the house that hadn't been worked on. I told him this doesn't sound right and sounds unsafe. He assured me it was fine.
I sent an email to the company about the damage to my wallpapered walls which was clearly down to the staff using the wrong type of tape. The owner (Nathan) point blank refused to accept any responsibility saying their T's&C's clearly state they can't be responsible for any damage. I pointed out that this only applies to areas being worked on which makes perfect sense but not to areas they've dust sheeted to protect from damage. Took him a few emails to even offer an apology but still no offer of a resolution. I reminded him that I'd be looking to get the rest of my electrics done at a later date and he still wasn't prepared to do anything. I found this to be awful customer service and frankly stupid on his part, as there is more work to be done at my property.
After seeking further advice from an Electrical Inspector, he advised that the company need to at least, upgrade the breakers in my box where the new wiring has been installed so everything is up to standard and can be signed off. Once I'd sent this email to the company, they then sent a lad round to replace the necessary breakers. The 2 additional visits lasted in total about 3hrs which was time i shouldn't have had to waste if a proper job was done initially.
I find their quotes to be confusing also and they must have an automated system that sends emails and texts which is very frustrating too. You can agree details over the phone and you'll literally get a message with the incorrect details on shortly afterwards.
I have paid my final bill and will look for a different company to complete the rest of the work. After the issues I have experienced, I cannot recommend this company at all.
