Great classes , structured well - allowing for all abilities.
Sparkling showers and great changing facilities making a pre work workout easy.
Staff were friendly and helpful .

Excellent experience. Super, super nice.

The amount of people in a classroom makes the experience overwhelming. The music and lights doesn’t allow the instructor to see and provide any corrections to the form during the practice.

I have been doing the reformer pilates and cycle classes at the Victoria branch and the front of house staff are always warm and welcoming and the instructors are brilliant. They always give multiple choices in the reformer depending on your ability and are looking out to see how they can support individuals. The spin classes have always been great vibes, super encouraging and challenging instructors, genuinely creating a fun work out! Thanks to the whole team.

Love the structure of the class , resistance & pace. Bikes were great and the screen was helpful. Love the venue too.

At a couple of classes it was hard to hear the instructors speak a lot of the time. Melissa however, was very clear and gave good instructions.

Love the gym! Great experience with the reshape and reformer classes. I was visiting London for a few days and this was the perfect way for me to stay fit. I would definitely go back next time I’m there.

Great instructors and classes, terrible design and management of membership system in a way to get more money out of you.

I have been with 1rebel for a year and a half now and just finished a 12 month fixed term. While I love their classes and was thinking about renewing, my most recent experience has convinced me not:
- they do not email you about your membership auto renewing past the fixed term and they subsequently do not allow you to cancel this month. I am not in London for the duration of my next cycle and they charge you to freeze this on top of being charged for a month I did not want
- they are very very stingy about freezes, if you travel multiple times a year or are injured - tough luck
- the app is flawed in its design where when you are booking a class it may show up as coming out of one billing cycle / class package but takes it out of next month’s credits (they then do not refund these credits)
- if you have any credits left, you just lose them, there is no ability to roll them or book beyond the cycle even if you have extenuating circumstances (which is crazy considering each class is 15-25 pounds)

Overall your classes tend to cost around the same but you lose more due to the flawed design of the membership system and lack of flexibility from some members of the team (have had great experiences with others). Would recommend converting to a nicer gym or just staying on class pass.

Honestly I’m used to USA prices/experiences and 1Rebel was very refreshing. It’s not too corporate like Barry’s, but also not suffocating like a small studio. It’s a fun experience and the instructors don’t call you out which I appreciate. Facilities are clean and nice!

I love 1Rebel, it's my favourite boutique gym in London. Reshape is my favourite concept, classes are vibrant and full of energy.

Terrible experience all round

I used to like the classes but front office is staff has always been really unhelpful through their branches and they have an extremely strict policies and no regard whatsoever for customer service.

Life sometimes happens but apparently not for 1Rebel. I sustained a serious hiking incident over Christmas and couldn't walk for a while let alone go to the gym so I missed out on lots of pre-purchased passes as all naturally expire.

I had passes at Psycle who kindly were able to offer an extension but 1Rebel has intense policies and requests doctors proof - which I would understand for a membership but not for a few weeks postponment of some gym passes you've already paid for. At the very least it's just keeping a customer happy who you would hope would be purchasing passes again in the future.

Classes are ok but nothing special and really depends on the instructor. I've done a wide variety of Reformer classes particularly at their Euston brnach and some of the earlier ones have been good (that instructor is no longer on their list for some reason) but the others are very basic or focus on just one group of muscles or too much on the props. For the fee I'd expect something better and I've done classes for even £20 at private studios which have been much better.

Similar issues at the Chelea branch where I wasn't let use some passes for a guest (as I didn't have time to do all 4 classes by myself). They said that particualr pass was for my sole use only although other passes are not normally - so you have to be aware of very strict T&Cs between branches.

Similar experience with others where at the Holborn branch I arrived 5 minutes earlier for a class (which I have done before at other gyms) but they told me I couldn't get in as I needed to due their famous inductions. Their inductions are extremely basic by the way for 20 seconds and if you've been to any gym before I can assure you, you can handle it.

It is a shame as I have been using them for a number of years but a gym experience needs to be relaxing and fun whereas 1Rebel policies and rudeness of front office staff has really made it a hugely negative experience. Lots of my friends have had similar experiences (not be able to attend a class due to illness - and you actually get charged if you don't go). They state it's because they don't want empty spaces but I don't understand why policies need to be so strict when the class has already been paid for.

I know they are trying to be cool or whatever (not sure why being so strict helps them) but I would highly recommend staying back from this gym. There are better and cheaper gyms on the market!

WORST STUDIO.

Having attended dozens of spin classes at multiple reputable studios, I cannot believe the treatment I received at the Victoria 1rebel studio.

Having arrived 5 minutes in advance of my spin classes I was told I cannot attend because there is a mandatory induction, which means I need to arrive 10 mins in advance. Why? I know how to setup a bike and put my shoes on, what makes 1rebel supposedly so special that I need a 10 min induction? The fact that I was told oh just take bike 12 when I booked bike 4 can’t mean the induction is all that important for someone that has been to multiple spin classes before. I was then told I cannot even have the credit refunded and have to attend a session later that day - I’m sorry but I spent almost an hour to get there, and do not have time to sit around waiting for the next class.

How incredibly disappointing. Do better.

Addition to my original review - having emailed the Victoria branch and being told it would be passed onto the manager, who will respond within 3 days, I have heard nothing after a week, even after chasing. This again shows how little care is given to customer service. 1rebel if you truly care about your customer experience sorry this out.

The class was okay but just didn't really challenging and didn't find the choreography of the class very engaging compared to others studios.

1Rebel is amazing. Brilliant, clean changing rooms and facilities. Classes were great… a brilliant workout. Lots of products to use and a fridge full of cold refreshing towels. Excited to go again
