After hundreds of attempts, I finally took their call. My parents had purchased an upgraded trip right before their death. They transferred the trip to me in 2022, but until now, I didn't have time. I took the call today and for $649, they told me about all the trips i had coming. The one thing they didn't mention is that you have to go on a host high pressure 3 day trip to receive all your other trips. Typical bait and switch tactics.

My Kathmandu trip with A1 Excursion Adventure Tours & Travels (P.) Ltd. arranged by Mr. Raj Thapa was mostly well managed and overall comfortable. The travel arrangements were fine and the trip stayed fairly hassle-free throughout. I also visited Kalinchok, which was a highlight with great mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere. Overall, it was a decent and simple travel experience covering everything as planned.

After a poor experience with another travel agency, A1 Excursion Adventure Tours and Travel was recommended to us by friends. Raj, the owner, did a wonderful job in putting together our visit to Nepal in a matter of days in March 2026.

His recommendations were always reliable and enabled us to experience local culture and meet local people.

Through his contacts he recommended a young woman to guide us on a two-day trek. She was a delight, full of good information and insights into local culture, including her own village and family. The other guides he arranged for us were also very well informed, professional and fun.

Raj and his team was always available and checked in regularly to ensure that everything worked smoothly.

We had a wonderful experience and recommend A1 Excursions highly.

Von Anfang bis Ende habe ich mich top betreut und absolut sicher gefühlt. Die Porter und Guides haben uns quasi jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit zusammen, haben viel gesehen, erfahren, gelernt und zusammen gelacht. Die einheimischen Menschen waren sehr warmherzig. We had an amazing two-week trip in Nepal, perfectly organized by A1 Excursion and Raj Thapa.

The safari in Bardia National Park was unforgettable — we saw tigers, elephants, rhinos, and monkeys in the wild. The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek with Raj as our guide was just as special, with beautiful mountain views, blooming rhododendrons in March, and wonderful contact with local people.

Everything was very well organized, the food was excellent, and we always felt well looked after.
We highly recommend A1 Excursion and Raj Thapa to anyone planning a trip to Nepal. His personal support, experience, and warm hospitality made this journey truly special — we would absolutely travel with him again anytime.

I just did my second trek with A1 Excursion Adventure. Last time Manaslu, this time Poon Hill and Annapurna Basecamp trek (ABC). I am once again amazed how anyone can give this company less than 5 stars. I would give 6 stars if it would be possible. We recently did Annapurna circuit with A1 Excursion. We had such an amazing team, our guide Gorkana and our porter Krishna made it a truly unforgettable experience. The views are breathtaking and Gorkana handled all the logistics for us. We had a flight cancelation in Jomson and Gorkana took no time to book us a jeep so we still had time to enjoy Pokhara.

Along the way, the team always made sure that we had a pleasant journey and tried to accommodate us even in the most basic settings. I highly recommend A1 excursion for any adventure you want to do in Nepal.

A very personal experience with a great team. From arrival in Nepal though to departure was seamless, even with Lukla Airport Lottery! The team kept us informed and presented workable options. Very knowledgeable guide and always considering our safety, welfare, and adventure experience. I will seek this organisation and staff out for my next trek.

I had an amazing trek to ABC thanks to A1 excursion. Everything from transportation to accommodation was was really good organised. Raj Kumar and his great team sure we were well taken care of. I am very thankful for the amazing experience. :)

I can highly recommend this agency! My friend and I had the most wonderful experience with A1 Excursion. Everyone was so kind and helpful during our stay in Nepal and were available for all the help we needed. We did the Mardi Himal trek with an amazing guide and it was the most wonderful and memorable tour we could have wished for. Everything was taken care of by the agency so we could enjoy the trek and stunning views!

Langtang and Gosainkund: that was an amazing trip. Sometimes really hard, but we were always in best hands of the A1-guides and porter. Our guide Gokarna was always there to support and motivate us with his empathic, responsible and always friendly manner.
So, I would book A1 again!

I made the ABC Track and a track through the rhododendron forests. The trip was organized very good, we had meals, tea, accommodations and transportation always on time and in a very good quality! I really enjoyed the trip and felt very safe. The guides and porters were very polite.

Having returned to Nepal multiple times, I highly recommend A1 Adventure Tours and Travel to fellow trekkers. Beyond trekking trails and stunning nature, I once again experienced a brilliant service and genuine care provided by Raj Kumar.
Just recently we completed the Manaslu Trek, which proved to be a great choice. From the outset, Raj Kumar's meticulous organization and professionalism set the tone for an outstanding Trek! The combination of Raj's longstanding commitment and his personal touch makes A1 a doorway to enduring friendship and unforgettable experiences. Our guide Sujan Baruwal proved to be an absolutely supportive companion with lots of experience and a great sense of humor. He helped us through challenging terrains, ensured both safety and an enjoyable trek with plenty of laughter. We could not have asked for anyone better!
Whether it was the provision of high quality equipment, assistance with flight arrangements, securing comfortable accommodation or even preparing an emergency kit, A1 left no stone unturned in providing a worry-free adventure for us.
Planning a trek in Nepal one should kept in mind that choosing the right agency - admits the multiple of agencies in Kathmandu - can be rather confusing. Thus be aware: it's not merely about selecting a trekking agency, but opting for a trusting companion and sharing the journey with a friend, who understands and prioritizes YOUR needs!
Without hesitation A1 remains my top recommendation when it comes to trekking in Nepal.

If you ever think about climbing a mountain in Nepal as an inexperienced hiker, then you are in the best hands with Raj and his team! Humorous, caring and with a lot of expertise, this trip will remain in your memory for a long time.

9 of us from the Philly Adventure Group came to Nepal for the Mardi Himal trek but it ended up being much more than just a trek. On our first full day in Katmandu, Raj had organized a terrific guide who took us to various temples and gave us a good overview of the Buddhist and Hindu customs and the religions. The guide also took us to a great place to lunch and to a nice singing bowl shop. At night we had a nice traditional meal and saw a cultural Nepali dance show.

The next day we flew to Phokara from where we started the trek. During the trek we met all kinds of interesting people and saw many diverse vegetations, woods, and rice paddies. We had so many brilliant views of valleys, great mountains, sun rises and sun sets. Raj came along the trek and made sure all our needs were met. Gokarna was our guide. He is a great person who was a pleasure to have met and to guide us along. The 5 porters Raj had hired were also very nice people. Having the 5 porters, Gokarna, and Raj enabled our group to split up during the day. We ended up most days with 3 groups who could walk at their own speed.

During the trek we stayed in Guesthouses that were OK, but which became more basic as we got higher. It was therefore a pleasant surprise when Raj got a nice place to stay in during the descent. The home stay he organized was also a cultural event that had a big impact on many of us.

The hotels Raj booked for us in Katmandu and Phokara were decent. They were not 5 stars but served its purpose and were located in areas with great activity and plenty of nighttime options. I was amazed who crowded it is in Katmandu after midnight. Already have asked Raj to organize another adventure for 2025! Can't wait to go back to Nepal!

Incredible trekking experience made possible by A1 Excursions! The owner, Raj, did accompany us on this trek and he is fantastic! Everything was taken care of. All the tea houses, porters, restaurants, hotels, transport, and tours. He planned the route, ensured we were acclimating to the elevation (no one in our group of nine got altitude sickness), and made the entire experience incredible. Now, this is what you'd expect from a tour operator, but Raj went well above and beyond. A few examples below.

We started with a larger group (and thus pricing was discounted). Several members of original group cancelled, and he refunded their money. Moreover, he did not come back and adjust our pricing even though we were smaller group.

A few of our group adjusted their arrival and departure times due to personal reasons or for wanting to undertake additional excursions while in Nepal. Raj didn't hesitate to make additional calls to facilitate their changes or make multiple trips to/ from airport to accommodate their personalized plans.

The itinerary was very specific in stating what was included and excluded from the price. A few of our group members made some addition requests for food, lodging, and added porter services that were clearly added scope to the trip. Raj took care of every add on request. No hesitation whatsoever.

In short, this trip was a once in a lifetime experience for me, and most likely for you, too. I would travel with Raj again in a second and would highly recommend him to my closest friends!

My boyfriend and I booked a trekking tour with A1 Excursion Adventure Tours & Travel. We went to the Mardi Himal View point (4250m) and it was a beautiful Trek. The Tour was 7 days long, we stayed at Tea houses, as well as homestays with lovely and kind people. Our Guide Gokarna was really kind and did a great job. He always made sure that we're doing good and he taught us lots of interesting things about the Nepali culture and their life in the mountains.
Before we started our Trek the owner Raj Kumar Thapa made sure we get all the information we need and took care of our concernes and wishes.
I would definitely book another tour with A1 Excursion Adventure Tours & Travel.

My girlfriend and I booked a 7-day tour. We hiked to the Mardi Himal View Point with our guide Gokarna.
Gokarna is very kind and took really good care of us. He responded to our individual wishes.
