AAA has really fallen from grace.
AAA has really fallen from grace.
Currently I am 4 hours into what Iâm finding out will be a SIX HOUR total wait time for a single tow truck for a âpriorityâ premier customer. The mere fact that AAA doesnât have their own tow trucks is utterly ridiculous. Since they are essentially useless, customers would fare better cutting out AAA entirely and just calling the local tow company (since thatâs all AAA seems to do anyway).
Reviews hold no weightâŠbut a significant loss in revenue will do us ALL a favor.
This company has become a relic well beyond its âprimeâ.
The driver that came out was nice butâŠ
The driver that came out was nice but late. He told me that my AAA battery warranty is void after 8 months of having it installed due to the battery not having 8 cold cranking amps. I drive the vehicle every Friday thru Monday. They tell you to buy a trickle charger to hook tonthe battery through the week. Why should I have to do that?? Then you try and call multiple AAA customer service numbers and listen to prerecorded sales pitches and never get to talk to a human. I had to call the roadside assistance and keeping saying "representative " to talk to someone, just to get transferred to a problem resolution person. That person was useless and tried telling me I neglected my battery. I said "so if I go on a 5 day vacation and come back to a dead battery, that's neglect?" I asked for a supervisor and he supposedly was transferring me. I never got to speak to anyone! They are only good for roadside assistance...... when they eventually show up.
I needed battery service and was givenâŠ
I needed battery service and was given 1 hour wait. Charter battery service got to my car in less than that I had met this a few months ago and he was exceptional. He was polite and it worked out perfect. I wanted to leave a good reference for him and his service. I am not impressed with my auto insurance at all. So the car runs well and I am legal to drive. What better gift than that!
Putting Customers at risk of Credit Card fraud
What I did not like is the fact I could not update my credit card information myself instead of having to give it to a live agent over a recorded line. I feel that way is opening one up for credit card fraud. Plus, it is known that even employees can steal one's information on the job and commit fraud using their credit card information.
On a google search this is what I read:
"It is not illegal for a company to ask for credit card information over the phone," but it is a card-not-present" transaction with higher risk for fraud. While legally permissible," companies must adhere to strict security standards (PCI-DSS) to protect data, such as not storing CVV codes or recording full card numbers."
AAA have their customers on recorded line when they are collecting their card information. That too put the customer at HIGH RISK FOR FRAUD.
Upon speaking to a supervisor name Kiimberly and the other Supervisor name Becky. I was told that was the way AAA does it and other customers have the same concern. I asked what is going to take to fix that issue before someone's Credit card information falls in the wrong hands? Neither knew. And said it was up to those who sit in upper management to change it.
I hope by next renewal they have that problem corrected.
AAAA IS A RIP OFF
I had to put one star they didn't even deserve that I called for liability auto insurance they want $200 a month just for liability plus $85 a year I only pay $80 a month insurance on my regular insurance stay far away from this place
Terrible customer service !
Terrible customer service !
Be forewarned this company will do you wrong if you fike an auto insurance claim. I filed such a claim and was met with bad unprofessional reception, and lies, avoidance and outright violations of law. I filed a detailed complaint with the Insurance bureau for California, I added my complaint to the thousands of others, thousands of victims of this company. BE FOR-WARNED STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
This is the worst experience Iâve everâŠ
This is the worst experience Iâve ever had with Triple A . Been waiting for three hours and no one showed up. The towing company call and said they we will be there 15 minutes ( No show) then I call back for the third time and they said , we already towed her . I said Iâm standing here looking at my car and plus I have lock on my steering wheel. Why are they lying? So now I have to start the process over all over again. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! Update.. Now they saying they came looking for an S 280 Mercedes instead of a C 280 . I said have you ever known them to make an S 280? Then said the guy text me 5 time, I said I can show you my phone, he hasnât text me not one time.. Then call out the wrong number he said he was calling me from.. What is goin on ? They better fine them some better tow companies, before they be out of business..,After almost all day they still havenât showed up. I need some suggestions for another tow company.
Stranded for 4 hours
Terrible! Waiting 4 hours while dispatch is âlocatingâ a tow. My son is 19 years old, sitting on the side of the road at 10 PM & each time heâs told weâll let you know when one is available. Canceling my membership. Do not get this service for distance tows. They will not pick you up.
Do not get AAA homeowner insurance!
Do not get AAA homeowner insurance!
AAA didn't notify me that they weren't renewing our home owner policy due to a trampoline in the year with no fence. (They SAID they mailed a letter. I didn't get it. Wouldn't you think a phone call or an URGENT email would be warranted in this case? My mortgage company informed us by mail after the non-renewal of the policy and that is how we found out.
The trampoline was disassembled in our backyard over the winter and we were planning to dispose of the pieces when able.
Naturally, I called AAA and asked if there was anything we could do to get renewed and reinstated. The instructed us to send in a picture of the disassembled trampoline.
I did so.
They then said this was insufficient due to no fence. They said someone could come on to our property and reassemble it and jump on it and get hurt. They then instructed us to completely remove all parts from our property and send pictures. This meant we had to spend the whole weekend manually disassembling the parts into more manageable pieces to allow us to take several different trips to the dump to dispose of it completely so we could show pictures of our property without any remnants of the trampoline. We took those pictures and sent them in only to have AAA still non-renew us.
It was completely and totally unfair for them to make us follow these strict instructions in a timely manner only to non-renew anyway.
We are outraged and cancelled all business with them including multiple auto policies.
Went with Good Sam today!
Went with Good Sam today!! Called to renew membership with aaa and automated system asked if I called to renew membership?! I press the number 1! The automated system said it didnât understand but it recognized that I pressed the number 1! It asked again and I responded the same ! They can program their systems to say it doesnât understand when it clearly does and want to pressure customers to speak when they donât want to! Then hang up!!!! Surely a good reason to move on!!! Iâm not going to spend my money on something that doesnât understand and then tries not tooooo!!! Another company will have my funds! As this new automated system wasnât worth the headache esp how they use to switch you many times between different associates to just get a tow!! Maybe they will figure things out by the next couple years before Iâd even be interested again!!! They took the time to be cheeky and hang up on customers because âit doesnât understand â understand this ! I donât deal with dumb and cheeky !!! AAA please donât respond as I donât understand or care !!!
Cancelled membership-no explanation
I have had AAA roadside coverage for six years and it was pretty good. This last time I called to have my car towed, I was informed that my membership had been cancelled. I informed them that I never received notification of this and the last email I received from them confirmed that that I had coverage for the next year. I have tried several times to resolve the issue including a visit to a local branch with a promise of a return call. I missed a call and tried several times to call them back with no response. I was also informed that resolutions of any disputes need to be written via snailmail. Right now, I'm researching other roadside assistance companies. Beware buyer!!!
I had my car towed from ColoradoâŠ
I had my car towed from Colorado Springs to Denver because I lost the key fob and the tow truck driver parked it facing the wrong direction on the street when he dropped it off. I later received a careless driving charge from Jefferson County Sheriff's Department because they are almost as intelligent as the tow truck driver who dropped off the vehicle. Now I'm going to trial for careless driving and I DEFINITELY do not recommend Triple A for anything.
Customer service was terrible
The lady who answered my call was very rude..I called in for my wife who was dealing with the issue of the car not starting, and she asked me ,why didn't my wife call instead of me and I explained to her that she is not sure how to handle all that so I was doing it for her...and she let out a big sigh , and had an attitude for the rest of the conversation..she told me they would be there in 45 min and hung up on me, without notice or a good bye..I wish I had gotten her name..she she not be working for any company that has to deal with people
AAA After 37 years
AAA: After 37 year this mid what we get. Got a flat tire in SoFi Stadium Parking Lot at 11 pm. Pathway towing given exact location of car but theycouldnât find it. It is almost the ONLY car in the parking lot and itâs red. Now they say they are too busy. Waiting 3.5 hours so far. AAA have very poor services providers. Cormac
Every driver needs AAA
My experience with AAA over the last thirty years has ALWAYS been absolutely stellar, i have used them to unlock a running car that I locked at 2:30 am at a grocery store in Aspen, (back when it was still very easy to accidentally lock your car with the keys inside). They have jump-started multiple cars for me, replacing one car battery that would no longer keep a charge. They have changed multiple flat tires (one in Indianapolis, one in the mountains of Colorado, and two tires in Beaufort, NC). They have towed FIVE different vehicles to service stations, or my car dealer, (with kids and dog in-tow), with unexpected car problems, And ALL of these experiences were with friendly, professional, skilled operators that went above and beyond to keep me, my kids, and dog safe. Yes, I had to wait a couple of times for extended periods of time for them to arrive because they were no where near where my car was located, or they were busy helping other drivers and I had to wait âmy turnâ. But they ALL communicated well, so I knew where they were driving from and approximately when to expect them. So, I personally would recommend AAA to EVERY driver. AAA has saved me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars and reduced my stress in those situations greatly.
I had used this company many years agoâŠ
I had used this company many years ago and it was a great experience but let my membership lapse. I rejoined when my son started driving to add the piece of mind. During this period he had 2 issues where he needed help.... a flat tire and a dead battery late at night. BOTH times AAA was a no show for the service call. Not only are they totally useless to me to make matters worse they won't refund the membership I paid for but could never use. They did offer a 50% discount if I renewed it.... Say What?!?!? Then they said if they don't show up and you have to call someone else to help you can apply for reimbursement from them.... kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? I wouldn't continue with them even if it was free it was a total scam for me. If you value your safety and and your children's well being when you need roadside assistance you will want to look for a company that will deliver what they claim to provide. This isn't that kind of company imo. I just wonder what happened to them as they used to be great decades ago......
Run!!!
Run!!!! The single worst insurance company on the planet! Bait and switch from the beginning. Eric Campbell Tampa Florida agent is dishonest. I requested to drop him March 4th 2026 and he continues to create unscrupulous issues with my policy. Despite calling customer service multiple times to drop him as agent, he still remains active in sabotaging my account. After 25 years with State Farm and zero issues, Iâll be switching back to a more honest, reputable insurance company.
First and last time using my AAAâŠ
This was my first time using my AAA membership, and it will likely be my last. I called for a battery replacement and received a verbal quote of $214.99 all-in for a 650CCA-47E-C. I explicitly asked their rep "Trinia" if there were any additional fees â she confirmed there were none. She also refused to send me a quote in writing.
Their third-party contractor "Howard Neicen" arrived and recommended a better battery at $279, which I agreed to. After installation, I was handed a bill for $309 â including undisclosed shop fees, spray protector charges, and other add-ons that were your typical bs fees.
When I disputed the difference, as a matter of principle...Howard said "Im not AAA", and would not stand by their quote, he then threatened to remove the battery from my car over a $15 discrepancy on fees I was never told about. I offered him my debit card to pay the agreed $279 plus tax â he refused. I had to call the police to stop him from opening my hood.
To make matters worse, Howard was misogynistic, he asked me 'where is your husband â why isn't he dealing with this?'
When I contacted AAA, I was essentially told to pay whatever the contractor demanded. AAA did not stand behind their quote.
The fact that quotes are never provided in writing now makes perfect sense. This is a textbook bait-and-switch, and it's a fundamental breach of consumer trust. This experience will not go unshared.
waited over 3 hours in front of my sons school
I thought aaa was supposed to be reliable. my son and I waited for 3 hours when my car ran out of gas in front of his school,. I called several times,. employees were poorly informed and rude . I wish I didn't get this service . would have been quicker to walk 3 miles to gas station probably
