Abbott's internal operating processes & lack of respect for customer's wishes

Abbott began sending unsolicited Ensure samples addressed to my deceased husband at my home. The first shipment was a very large box. I contacted Abbott and requested that all future shipments stop. I was told that another box might already be in the pipeline, and indeed a second shipment arrived about a month later. I again contacted Abbott and clearly requested that no further unsolicited samples be sent to my address.

Today, I have received yet another box of unsolicited samples.

This ongoing failure to honor repeated requests raises serious concerns about Abbott’s internal processes, efficiency, and respect for customers’ wishes—especially given that these shipments are addressed to someone who is deceased and were never requested in the first place. Continuing to send unwanted medical product samples after multiple stop requests reflects poorly on the company’s responsiveness and operational accountability.

Low/high blood sugar who cares!

Libre 2 plus replaced the Libre 2 in August 25 Absolute rubbish supposed to last 15 days instead of 14 so it means no regular day/time to renew however had endless problems with the plus version last between 3/5 days tops subsequently leaving me with little or no readings,contacted the company after my doctor got fed up of paying for prescriptions they sent me 1 yes 1 last 6 days worst upgrade on anything and customer service absolutely CRAP. I’m in search of an alternative now and id highly recommend you DO NOT use these. AVOID AT ALL COSTS product/company totally useless

Unterirdisch falsche Werte oder gar keine

Ginge es doch, keinen Stern abzugeben! Die Messungen über die Sensoren schaffen eines: den Kunden konfus und ängstlich zu machen, was sie nicht können ist: - Werte anzeigen, die dem tatsächlichen Zustand nahe kommen, - nachts oder tagsüber durchgehend Ergebnisse anzeigen, die Produkte zu einem Preis anbieten, der deren Qualität entspricht. Schlimm, was man da verkauft bekommt. Nutzlos, irritierend, USA. Dann doch lieber selbst blutig messen. Oder ein Konkurrenzprodukt testen. Schade, dass die Krankenkassen nicht die Patienten befragen.

Choose your delivery company. Whoever you chose left the parcel on the front door step in the pouring rain, did not knock or use the doorbell and a light was on.
Lazy irresponsible people, we get these samples for good reason, so please have some consideration.

Libre 2 plus

Libre 2 plus: having previously writing a review that rated their complaint system as being poor I have to note that the company failed to respond. The reason I contacted them was that I have used Libre 2 plus for a little while with mixed results. it is supposed to last for 15 days but most recently it has been less than seven days. i don't pay but if i did i would be very miffed. Rarely does the results last the full 15 days. I believe that this company are shortchanging the NHS.

I have been using the freestyle 14 day…

I have been using the freestyle 14 day (Libre 2) for at least 4 years. Since September my readings have differed from blood sticks by 50-70 points.

Yesterday when talking with customer service I learned that this product has been discontinued by Abbott and it does not work with Apple phones running OS 26. At first they claimed they were just delayed in their updates, but later when talking with a supervisor I learned there are no plans to update.

They discontinued their reader in July so if you have this sensor there is no way to get a reading.

Abbott refused to buy back my sensors (which had just refilled) and basically said it sucks to be you.

Despite Abbott’s claim they informed us this product was being discontinued, we, nor Publix our pharmacy, had any idea this product was discontinued and basically unusable when our prescription was refilled (after the discontinued date).

This is a horrible company and I caution anyone from considering becoming a customer.

I use the libre 2 + but this one I'm using is out by 4 and having to keep pricking finger for obvious reasons, system is great idea, but the machine that's reads the sensor keeps losing touch, have had more problems with the plus then with the older version, Abbott you could do with an app so these problems can be reported checked upon and replaced if necessary🤔
Just an update, these new 2,+ are not very good takes days to stabilise then drop out, I using one of their machines at the moment, but to comment from Abbott 😞

Had to place TWO calls to their service department

Had to place TWO calls to their service number for diabetics. Both times I had to speak with someone who's language is NOT ENGLISH and had a heavy Indian accent. I needed to obtain a new lancet as my lancet had the button come off of it. I then received a lancet device that does NOT retract. IT IS DEFECTIVE. And it it too large for my diabetic kit that I carry with the tester unit and test strips.
I then placed ANOTHER CALL, once again speaking to someone who’s language is NOT English with a heavy Indian Accent.
I then received a box yesterday that DID NOT HAVE ANY LANCET DEVICE IN IT. Nor a new tester kit with lancet.
Instead the BOX has an envelope and tube in it for HAZARDOUS items to be returned. It shows on the box BIOLOGICAL SUBTANCE CATEGORY B on the box. NO LANCET REPLACEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW IS A DIABETIC THAT TESTS THREE TIMES A DAY TO DO A TEST WITHOUT A REPLACEMENT LANCET????????????????????????
I tried to do an online chat with a person on their website and all they could say is for me to call them.
For a company that deals with diabetics please employ people that know how to speak to the customer. And knows how to fill a box with a replacement lancet. Especially one that WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Five stars for Abbott's always-prompt replacements

I use the Libre Freestyle 2 sensor to keep a permanent check on my blood glucose levels.

Abbott Laboratories often get a lot of flak from people who use any of their sensor range of products... I too have had sensors which have failed - either immediately I put them on, or within the two-week period that the sensors last.

However, from my experience Abbott has always replaced the faulty sensor, promptly and with no quibbles.

That says enough to me to give the company five stars.

Not 100%accurate

The Libre2 sensors are a useful tool in monitoring glucose levels, but the caveat is you should view their results as a trend rather than accurately measuring your glucose levels. My experience (and I have using them for a number of years) is that they tend to read quite a bit lower than a finger-prick test. This has meant receiving false low-glucose alarms (mine is set to 5mmol/L - the driving threshold) when a FP test disproves this. I am aware that the sensors read from interstitial fluid rather than blood so I always leave the recommended time before I carry out a comparative FP test. Readings are consistently 5-10 mmol/L below FP tests, and A1C values up to 15 mmol/L below six-monthly blood tests at my diabetic clinic.

Not reliable

Reliability of these sensors has now fallen below acceptable standards. It is at least 3 months since I had one that lasted the full 14 days

Excellent Service

I am type 2 diabetic and have had the Freestyle Libre 2 arm sensor prescribed for around two years. Most of the time the blood glucose sensors work absolutely fine. However, on the odd occasion when one fails I phone Abbott Laboratories on their free number and they are extremely helpful. They send a return paid package for the defective sensor to be checked out and send me a new sensor by courier. I can't fault their excellent service. Thank you Abbott Laboratories for your wonderful service.

Sensor 3 not as good as Sensor 2

with sensor 3 There are several things that are not as good cf Sensor 2.Kontack with the Abbott Germany have not resulted in any changes or asatisfactory answer to the question why did we have to chaneg from 2 to sensors.

Datenübertragung zwischen Geräten: Es ist bedauerlich, dass der Sensor3 keine Möglichkeit bietet, den Zuckergehalt zwischen verschiedenen Geräten zu synchronisieren. Das kann in der Tat unpraktisch sein, wenn Sie Ihre Daten auf verschiedenen Geräten verfolgen möchten. Wenn Sie mit einem neuen Sensor mit Ihrem Telefon oder Messgerät beginnen, können Sie den Zuckergehalt nicht mit dem anderen Gerät überprüfen. Das kann möglicherweise ein Problem darstellen, wenn Sie Ihre Daten auf beiden Geräten im Auge behalten möchten. Dass es nicht geht, weiß ich, aber das ist nicht gut und war besser beim Sensor2.

Sehr geehrte Service Team, ich bedanke mich für den lang erwarteten Brief.

Leider hat der Brief in keinesfalls meiner Fragen beantwortet.
I.E. Warum könne der neue Sensor wie den Vorgängen gleichzeitig die Zucker wert anzeigen.
Es kann nicht sein das es nicht in Ihrem IT-Leute nicht möglich ist das zu aktivieren.
Auch das man die führende Werte nicht anschauen kann.
Anschein wollen Sie das nicht, weil es Geld kostet! Ich habe gesehen am Trust Pilot das andre Leute die gleich Meinung haben. Es scheint das die Kunde waren nicht gefragt was für denn wichtig war.

Warum mussten wir die Sensor3 nehmen, denn Abbott UK offeriert am TV der Sensor 2?
D.H. Sie mussten das produzieren Sensor 2 immer noch, was ist der realen Begründung, Patent Probleme??

Ich bin sehr enttäusche vom Abbotts Attitüden dieser Gelegenheit es scheint das die Kunde sind nicht am ersten Platz, wenn das um Abbotts Produkte geht

Similac Discount and Coupons (Terrible)

It is very sad that we see a company that makes so much money off of many essential products they tend to be very cheap when it comes to providing some coupons to purchase their infant formula.
All of my kids have used Similac, my first child, that time we used to receive a booklet in the mail full of coupons back to back, almost the same with my second child, then our newborn who will be turning 10 months soon is not as lucky. We used to frequently get coupons in the mail and now that they have a digital version to help save postage, paper and less waste to print, we haven't seen as much as before. When there was shortage of baby formula, parents were taken advantage of, and now that Abbott's been back on track for a while they are sure helping less after the fact, they are no longer interested in being more supportive, they just want to make their investors happier at our expense.

We spend a good amount of money buying both ready made and powder formula, every 10-14 days, when we were using Alimentum we spent much more every other week. It definitely adds up. Will signing up to the paper coupons be better? I don't think so. We are happy in a couple of months we will no longer use baby formula, but I feel sad for the parents who will still be using formula. Good Luck future parents and hope you get better discounts, of course for whoever needs it. Thank you

Flawed GCM

I have been using the Libra 2 sensors for over a year. Overall the sensors have been doing a good job but very often after doing a reading, I get a message saying scan error, retry in 10 minutes. This is extremely annoying and frustrating. I think it’s about time that I tried another gcm. Another bugbear is that I have a glucose pen that has Bluetooth enabled, so as that it connects with the app on my phone. Despite multiple attempts to connect, it failed every time. Even after informing Abbotts Laboratories of the problem, they were unable to help me with this issue.

Excellent product ridiculously poor delivery service

I am a type 2 diabetic, I ordered two Libre Freestyle Sensors on the 19th of December 2022. As of today the 13th of January 2023 I have not received the device.

I have been given absolute nonsense by customer service.
Call 1 to Customer Service told it was on DPD and to wait another few days. 4/10/23
Call 2 to Customer Service told it was on Chronopost and would be delivered next day. I would receive a call before delivery. 10/01/23
Call 3 to Customer Service told it had been returned to sender, delivered out of hours and no phone call.
To be prioritised for re-delivery 13/01/23

Still awaiting an outcome and considering talking to my credit card company to cancel the transaction and look at competitors options, they cannot be any worse than these guys.

Since 13/01 I have spoken with Customer service and while the re-delivery was not without its issues I received the item on the 25/01. In fairness to Abbot Laboratories this was a shipping problem and in the end they offered a full refund as well as delivering the product. This I feel was an acceptable outcome with customer service coming through in the end.

They are conmen

They are conmen. They say the offer free 14 day trial of their diabetes cgm monitor, but when you answer the questions and give your phone number and email they always say you don't qualify. I tried 5 different replies from different email address's and always the same rejection
