We’re sorry to hear that you remain dissatisfied with your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
This matter was extensively reviewed at the time your concerns were raised, including detailed discussions with both yourself and the cleaning team, as well as a review of the photos and booking notes. We understand there are differing views regarding what was completed, the time spent onsite, and the overall scope of work.
Based on the information provided, the cleaners have advised they checked in with you multiple times, with areas being checked and approved as they progressed through the cleaning service. Additionally, some feedback now being raised was not brought forward during the cleaning service and was formally escalated several days later.
We also understand the scope of work changed during the service, with multiple task lists provided on arrival and additional requests made as the clean progressed. Some areas, including floors, were reportedly restricted or deprioritised, and the cleaners advised they continued working extended hours in line with the instructions provided at the time.
Importantly, we did work to facilitate a resolution. A return visit from the same cleaners and a partial refund offer were both put forward. While we understand the re-clean timing did not suit your schedule, and the refund option was not accepted, it’s not completely accurate to suggest that no resolution was offered.
Regarding fees, the Agency component forms part of the minimum service cost, which is clearly outlined on our website and was also quoted to you over the phone at the time of booking. There were no hidden costs or additional fees added. The Agency Fee helps cover the screening, vetting, matching, administration and ongoing support we provide to help ensure clients receive a reliable and well-supported service.
Absolute Domestics has operated as an Agency since 1993 and continues to support thousands of clients and cleaners each week. While we sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, we do not agree that the matter was ignored, misrepresented, or left without an attempt to reach a resolution. As previously advised, our offer of a partial refund remains available should you wish to accept it.

We’d like to advise that Absolute Domestics operates as an Agency that connects clients with independent cleaning contractors, rather than employing cleaners directly. During onboarding, it is clearly explained that cleaners operate as independent contractors. This arrangement provides a number of benefits, including the flexibility to set your own hours, choose your own clients, and effectively run your own cleaning business without the need to source your own work.

Our role includes marketing, client acquisition, scheduling support, and ongoing administration, which helps ensure a steady stream of work for cleaners. The $23.00 fee is the Agency's only source of income and is not deducted from the cleaner’s earnings. It is separate from, and independent of, the cleaner’s hourly rate. Both the agreed hourly rate and the agency fee are clearly disclosed during the recruitment and onboarding process to ensure full transparency. This fee contributes to keeping the business operating, including marketing to secure clients, maintaining our app and website for bookings and job management, and providing the ongoing support systems that enable cleaners to manage their schedules and grow their business.

Many of our contractors value the independence and freedom this model offers, as well as the support and reliability that comes with being part of an established agency with over 32 years of experience.

We understand that this structure may not suit everyone, and we appreciate your feedback. We are always looking to improve our service and support for our cleaners and will take your comments on board.

We’re very sorry to hear how frustrated you’ve been with this situation and that the experience has not met your expectations.

We understand your concerns regarding both the condition of the stovetop and the service cost. We did carry out a detailed review of the information provided, including speaking directly with the cleaner involved. As advised at the time, the cleaner did not report any damage during the service and has denied causing the issue.

Based on the information available to us, we were unable to substantiate that the damage occurred as a result of the clean, and therefore liability was not accepted.

We appreciate that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, particularly given the importance of a smooth end-of-tenancy process. Where pricing is concerned, all quotes are based on the scope of work requested, and any variations are typically agreed prior to completion. If you feel this was not clearly communicated, we would be very happy to review that aspect further.

Absolute Domestics has been operating since 1993, and we take pride in providing reliable service and peace of mind to our clients. We are sorry that this experience has left you feeling otherwise.
