I provided my very first review on TrustPilot two years ago, and that review was about Accounting Bolla, the firm we used for tax preparation in Italy.
Today, six years since we moved from the USA to Italy, of which four years (counting this year Modello 730/2025) in a row our Italian tax returns have been prepared by Accounting Bolla.
As a retiree with most common source of income – Social Security Benefits (SSA), Individual Retirement Account (IRA), filing US tax return is relatively easy and simple procedure.
However, it is significantly different experience filing Italian tax return as it requires essentially more data, including “Wealth Tax” (real estate and financial assets outside of Italy), to name a few. Financial terms coupled with limited level of Italian language, make filing Italian tax for 70+ year old retiree quite difficult, if possible at all, Everest.
I can’t imagine overcoming Italian tax return challenge if not for Accounting Bolla firm, highly professional, reliable, with hands on experience in US tax regulations, responsive and, I must add, innovative. The firm developed unique online platform, called TaxDome, allowing the taxpayer to enter data, including supporting documents. The TaxDome structured around Italian tax return form, user-friendly in clear English language.

We used Nicolo to help us obtain our representative office visa for Italy. Nicolo is very responsive to emails and always answered any questions that came up. We also had a few consultations with him as well to help us understand the Italian tax system and what would work best for our situation. I had the worst of experiences with nicolo. I applied for a normal 730 with him in 2023, but he applied for lavoratori impatriati with out my knowledge (which I wasn't eligible for since I had been studying and working in Italy for over 5 years by then). I lost my 4000€ reimbursement and got fined in the next year's tax declaration. For the payment of fine, I asked him to split it into installments, he assured me that it was possible and when I asked he replied, very conveniently after a month, that the deadline to split it into installments has passed.
He disappears when you need a response. Very poor communication so much so that it's extremely frustrating. Avoid him. He doesn't seem like someone who knows what he is doing, unfortunately.

Nicolò has been so helpful in setting up our Italian tax returns as retirees to Italy from the UK and explaining very carefully the implications of all our decisions.

He has compiled our returns with great efficiency and attention to detail and is always very prompt in responding to questions or emails.

For non-Italian residents he speaks excellent English and can explain complicated matters in easily understood terms.

Nicolò provides excellent service. I contacted him for my tax returns and all I had to do is just submit few documents that he asks. I received my tax return for previous year within the time that he specified.

Nicolo filled a tax return for me as part of the Impatriate tax regime last year. I received over 20,000e in fines and penalties from the Agenzia Entrate as a result of what appears to be his incompetence.
This wasn't the most shocking thing. He then didnt respond to my phonecalls when I sought to clear up his mess.
I have since spent thousands with another professional accountant who successfully reviewed my case with Agenzia.
I would recommend you avoid this cowboy.
