My first contact to them in decade

All because I wanted a new registration number so I could change a few things in Company maintenance section.
The first thing they email me was their software license Agreement that over the years have changed but I was never informed of those changes, in that agreement they ask to send documents to verify that I am the person who purchased the software. When they could have just asked me to send documents to verify myself not sure why they do this since documents can be forge by anyone these days, they already have all my information so all they had to do was call me back with the number they have to verify it was me by asking for me. my business always answers the phone by saying hello you have reach and they say my business name
Then they wanted $25.00 to send me a new registration number. They say there cost to do that is more then that. the owner does this themselves and at most it would take 15 minutes of there time if that.
I have been using groundskeeper lite for 14 year and in 2019 I upgraded to groundskeeper pro because my business had grown a lot. Boy that was a big mistake, by me mostly because of covid I would rate the 7.1.3 pro from a 1 to 10 as a 7. It’s most likely some users rating will be higher and some lower. Seems to me everything cost you money with them. If it is a free upgrade, they don’t contact you in any form about the upgrade. I guess they expect all their customers to check up themselves. Then when you go to their site The major upgrades cost $ I never seen any updates on their site that where free but maybe I wasn’t looking at the right place on their site.
When I wasn’t getting any results, I said I guess I will have to write a review. This person assumed I was going to leave bad review and I was threatened with a law suit if I left a defamatory review. As you can see in some of the reviews hear they do the same thing with threats of lawsuit. I guess they call this good business relation. LOL
Over the years I have moved and phone numbers have changed, with the groundskeeper lite there was never a problem with changing those In Company maintenance section. But in order to change your address and phone or even the business name you have to pay for that now. And prove who you are. I guess they consider me as a person of piracy. I’m bad!
Their customer support well I think some of the other reviews already tell you. To me it’s all about the $ with them. Not their current customers. Just think they take customers complaints about problems with the software. Then they improve those problems then charge you for the upgrade for those problems and or improvements. Also, if you read the negative review, they always have an answer that benefit them without a real solution for you except to say if you don’t like it go with a different software and I guess a refund comes with that. So, to get rid of me they decided to send a refunding back for the software. So, I guess they believe I am the original software owner and not someone else trying to get something free from them or so-called piracy. I guess their thought is I would leave a negative review. It is really sad that instead of just sending me a new registration number so I could make changes in the Company maintenance section. They prefer to have me purchase a different software program and say goodbye. And hurt my business by doing this because I will have to re=enter all this info to a new software. Guess they consider that good customers relation and service. Yes, I was Pissed off when I go to bill a customer and was blocked from doing anything because I made changes to my company maintenance section. I was totally frustrated with their replies and did use the F---U word in response

I was bullied by the support person with threats of law suits several times in are conversation
I like to ad that their privacy policy states they will not give out person information yet they post my name here several times. And If they plan on giving the email conversion out to people who ask they will be doing it again because those email contain my address my business name my business po box. And my name
because In those conversations I informed them on the changes, I wanted to do in the business maintenance section.

It is not my job to post the emails conversation here they have that opportunity to do that themselves. But they prefer you to contact them where they might give you false info by editing those conversations.
Its not over the $25.00. Its the fact that they changed the company maintenance section. To benefit them not ther customer. Lawn Services move and addresses changes, phone number changes. The rating of two is because of there customer service.

WK: am not paying $50.00 for an update on something I just purchased a few years ago. I am not happy that I am not able to get into my groundskeeper pro today.

ADKAD: Our registration process allows the software to be used on multiple computers without having to purchase multiple copies for new or additional computers, being that it is registered to a person, and not to a computer, as is many other software products. This process not only protects our company from software piracy but also protects the end-user from theft of their company data from their employees. About 15% of the address change requests that are processed turn out to be fraudulent due mainly to a partnership breakup, or from a former employee who has decided to start their own business. In this scenario, the person making the request poses as the registered user to be able to change the company info to their own. We can only verify that the person making the request is the actual registered user by requiring supporting documentation as proof. The overwhelming majority of end-users prefer this type of registration to protect their data and to avoid having to pay for the same software product multiple times. The $25 fee we charge, recovers only a portion of the actual labor and material costs associated with issuing a new registration number, IE. Printing, mailing, postage, and correspondence. To access your data, change the company info back to what it was prior to making the changes.

We do value our customers, and regret any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any further questions please contact us at the number below and press option 5 at the main menu. The $50 update is for series 8 users only as stated on our website. See below.

WK: Sorry I don’t see it your way I have purchased your grondkeeps and groundskeeper pro. I changed the name because I no longer do maintenance so I wanted to remove that part. And I changed the address so that I wouldn’t have the cost of the PO Box . So on a software I purchased I can’t change those thinks unless I pay you more or if I change the name back to what it was. NOT HAPPY. GUESS it is time to do a on line review.

ADKAD: Our registration policy is well documented and confirmed you understood the policy by you when the product was registered. We are sorry that you are not happy with that, but as explained below (as well as the software license agreement), that is our policy. Threatening a bad review is your prerogative as long as it is truthful. We do prosecute slanderous comments that potentially harm our business or rating. We would have no problem with a bad review citing the exact contents of this email.

We strongly suggest you shop for software elsewhere.

WK: F#YOU just shows me you don’t care about your customers but only the button dollars you can make. But I don’t care because I found a way around the problem. Sue me lol that would cost you money. And the constitution says I have the right to say what ever I want anywhere I wish by writing or verbal. So sue me.

ADKAD: Slander is a crime, not to be confused with freedom of speech. You should consult a lawyer or legal aid if that is what your intent is. We will be sending you a check for $384.45 which is the entire monies paid by you from 7/24/2005 to 1/4/2019 for our software products.

This will terminate our business relationship.

Used for YEARS

I have used "GroundskeeperPro" for many, many years. Upgraded as I changed computers, I have just loaded it on my 5th computer, that I can remember. I am NOT a "computer" guy, But, this is easy to use. and has worked great for me, I recommend it HIGHLY! I have never had to call for tech support until I needed to upgrade. If everything in computers was this easy it would be great!

Hi Ricky, and thanks for the great reveiw. The trouble you are having is an easy fix. The product registration number is stored in your database and therefore would also be in the backup at the time it was made. Although it is unusual to restore from an old backup, simply enter the registration number for the newer version and save it to the same name of the old backup. This way when ever you restore the same data again, it will have the correct registration number for the current version you are running. Hope this helps.

ADKAD provides an effective and inexpensive software solution for lawn care, pesticide, landscaping, and hydroseeding firms. They continually improve their software and have added payment processing and Quickbooks integration recently.

If you are getting into the lawn treatment (pesticide) business... I STRONGLY recommend starting here vs spending $10K or more to start with someone else... I wish I did!

the download is not easily told how to do it after purchase. not sure why its $100 from 7.1.3 to this when 8.0 is free update. also still no group emailing set up where I have 18 sites that need billed on separate bills and it emails 18 separate emails instead of 1 so I cant use it

Sorry to hear you had issues updating. Very simple step-by-step instructions are sent to your email of record, as well as on our website. Many times these emails end up in your spam or junk folder. Make sure you add Adkad Technologies to your safe sender's list.

Updates within the same series (The first number of the version number) are always free. Going up in a series number will result in a fee that is dependent on our costs of producing all the new features contained in the update.

Regarding the email issue (if I understand this correctly). If you are sending out 18 different invoices, it makes sense there would be 18 separate emails. If there is a new feature you would like added to the software, call us with more details. Or fill out our software suggestion form in the contact us section of our website.

Fairly new to the software

Fairly new to the software. Only few things so far I don’t like is so far seems there’s only one option for electronic payments and getting setup I’ve been waiting almost a week for a call back to setup. Can’t figure out how to print paid invoice for customers. But I’m also still learning the software. I wish there was phone app to be able to do estimates on the go. But overall seems to be a good fit for a onetime purchase.

We shopped around for the absolute best rates we could get with our payment integration which is why we offer only the one option. Regarding your invoice delema, Select the option to "print bills with zero balances" in the print bills screen. By the way, we do offer a cloud service to use on mobile devices.

Looks like a great product

Looks like a great product. I've been playing around with Quickbooks for years and all I want to do is invoice and keep track of jobs. I have an accountant for the rest. Quickbooks has a bad habit of the program not running well after the version has expired. Now, they want a yearly subscription! I am trying to keep our costs in check and this program purchase looks like it fits the bill!

Best Purchase Since Company Began in 2010

I have never regretted getting/keeping this AWESOME software program through both my businesses beginning in 2010. The updates are a not-to-miss event as the upgrades always allow us to serve our clients better with a lean-in towards focused billing, easier ways to pay and clearer information for us as well.
