45 minute helicopter flying lesson- Great experience and great fun! Staff are all helpful, friendly and professional. Be mindful that this experience is weather permitting and that’s outwith anyone’s control however I was lucky to have fine clear day and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend this one. Just need to save up now for a helicopter!

Outstanding , great value for money, experience!

Had been looking forward to my helicopter experience. Wasn't disappointed. The staff on the day ,Dom, George and Instructor Tom ( all pilots ) were very professional, personable and obviously love flying and I would say sharing that with their customers.
After a brief id and weight check we were given our safety brief and then a very interesting basic run through of helicopter mechanics and controls.
Once in the aircraft and with headsets fitted, Tom taxied us to the runway and we were off! Each having a shot in the pilot seat and controls once at height.
All together a great couple of hours all in and well worth my money and 2 hour drive there and home.
Its Five stars from me !
Well done guys.

An amazing experience

An amazing experience. The staff were very friendly and kept us informed the whole time. They carried out a full safety briefing. The views over London were magnificent. All the staff made our experience very special and memorable. Would highly recommend. A truly memorable experience.

Great experience from a superb provider.

Adventure 001 provide professional helpful staff who keep you completely informed as to the progress of your experience with them to ensure a good experience and a happy purchase. My husband and I enjoyed a 30 minute helicopter flight and were attended to by Dom, George and Tom on the day with total precision and efficiency. We had a thoroughly great time with Adventure 001. Helicopter flying has now become my new addiction thanks to them !

Absolutely Amazing Experience

I got this helicopter flying lesson experience for my husband I hopped in the back as a passenger and to be honest it was the best experience ever what a crew Dom and the team can't do anymore to make your experience very relaxed and they definitely know there stuff my husband was buzzing and couldn't believe he had actually got to do it we would 100% highly recommend Northumberland Adventures 001.com at cumbernauld if your looking for the ultimate experience that's definitely the one to choose a huge thank you for making our flight so good it's actually worth 10 stars 🌟

EDIT: The manager was not understanding of the situation, he was trying to interrupt both me and my parter multiple times, yet when I have interrupted starting with ‘sorry to interrupt..’ I was rude. Anyway I have stressed for a year with this situation and, after reading the reviews, I understood that one year is a happy case! Good luck with your scam!

This was my birthday present LAST YEAR in July. I’ve honestly had happy tears when I’ve received it so you can imagine my disappointment when they’ve cancelled our flight first time. Weather conditions apparently, we’ve understood and payed extra to upgrade and book another flight. Months later, we woke up all excited, got ready and drove to the meeting point (almost 2 hours away).

On the way there, we’ve received a phone call informing us that our flight was cancelled due to weather conditions this morning (our flight was at 4.30 PM) but due to their poor organisation everything was delayed so we can’t fly anymore.

Dom, a very rude manager, called me upon my request to tell me very sharply that is nothing they can do. He also repeatedly said that no one forced us to book the experience so basically it’s not his problem. Honestly, I’m not sure how he find himself in the management position, but was definitely NOT because of his customer service!

I don’t know what’s bothering me more, the fact that we’ve waisted time and money for nothing or that they have in charge a person who thinks his managerial position gives him the right to treat people like this.

Long story short, experience paid for almost one year ago, upgraded couple of months later so we can actually find a spot, cancelled twice and a manager that is happy to receive payments for a service that is never provided.

We are incredibly disappointed to receive your 1 star review and it is essential that we address the salient points and inaccuracies.

It is imperative that we highlight and remind you that you have booked an experience which is subject to weather, aircraft serviceability and operational matters. Owing to the nature of the experience, it is liable to short notice postponement or alteration. The aforementioned is made clear in our terms and conditions to which you have agreed at the time of booking, without pressure or persuasion.

The particulars in this instance are as follows: You were due to complete a Helicopter Flight from Redhill Aerodrome on Sunday the 22nd of March 2026. Our flying operation was due to commence at 09:30 on this day but owing to unforecasted fog preventing safe helicopter flight, our operation was delayed until 11:30. Throughout the day, our valued colleagues and Captain have endeavoured to reduce the delay so as to avoid the postponement of later flights in the day.

Sadly, owing to the earlier weather delay it was ultimately not possible to complete our complete flying schedule and as a consequence the decision was made to postpone our latter flights. This was not related to poor organisation as you wrongly suggest.

Postponement is a last result and we fully acknowledge the disappointment and inconvenience caused.

Once a decision had been made, you were contacted via phone at the earliest opportunity. You were initially spoken to by our Helipad Manager at the venue and sadly you became rude and hostile towards our colleague. Our colleague explained the scenario and apologised yet the facts were not to your liking and you became increasingly rude and demanded immediate compensation. You were politely reminded that the experience was subject to many factors and liable to alteration to postponement yet you did not wish to accept these facts.

You demanded that you be contacted by a member of our management team.

A short while later, highlighting our commitment to customer service, you were contacted by our Helicopter Operations Manager. In the course of the ensuing conversation, our Operations Manager repeatedly and profusely apologised for the postponement and inconvenience and you were politely informed that postponement was a possibility and we remain transparent of this fact. Indeed, our Operations Manager apologised nearly a dozen times in the course of the conversation but again the explanation was not to your liking. Our Operations Manager politely informed you that weather is dynamic and even stated that the flying operation that he was currently running had been impacted by unexpected weather delays and postponements that you. Sadly, you were incredibly rude and stated: “I don’t want to hear your life story”. Our staff deserve to be treated with politeness and respect at all points but sadly on this occasion you did not extend this courtesy to either of our staff members. You interrupted our staff member on numerous occasions when they were doing their best to speak to you.

A clear explanation was provided and you were politely reminded that in our agreed terms it is clearly stated that an experience is liable to short notice postponement if factors dictate. With making a booking, this risk is accepted by the customer and this was politely explained yet you protested and repeatedly interrupted our colleague.

In summary, we apologise that your experience was postponed yet we refute the content our your review. You were treated with respect and courtesy at all points, unlike our colleagues and we have been fully open and transparent at all points. Finally, you will find all relevant terms and conditions associated with helicopter flight experiences on our website.

Horrible booking experience

Basically this company operates on the principle that most people will get frustrated and forgo the helicopter flight ticket they have been gifted or bought. They sell way too many tickets versus the slots available and then there will be several cancellations citing weather or technical glitches. You will then only get a slot several months later which has a high chance of cancellation as well and the cycle continues. We got this ticket in August 2024 and after many cancellations and our relentless attempts finally been able to complete the flight in March 2026. This flight experience itself is enjoyable but you will likely get frustrated by the booking process and never actually do it.

Now be prepared for their reply below, which will say oh you read the terms and conditions and signed on to this, oh we prioritise your safety etc. True, but despite any terms and conditions any service that you purchase in the world, you shouldnt have to wait 2 years to get! They are aware of the London weather, they are aware of the condition of their Helicopters and should sell the right number of tickets so that in case of any issues people are able to rebook quickly but that's not the case at all. And of course forget about refunds. So unless you want to spend half your life chasing down a booking slot I would not recommend this.

We are very disappointed to receive your 1 star review incorrectly suggesting a scam.

Your voucher is for a helicopter flight, an experience which is subject to weather, aircraft serviceability, operational matters and availability. It is also made clear that owing to the nature of the experience it is liable to short notice postponement or alteration. The aforementioned feature in the terms and conditions to which you have agreed at the time of booking without pressure or persuasion.

Regrettably, your experience has been postponed owing to two factors: 1.) Inclement weather preventing safe helicopter flight and 2) An aircraft technical problem preventing safe helicopter flight.

As previously stated, you are made fully aware of the possibility of postponement and the potential reasons for said postponement. Health and safety remains our number one priority and there will be no deviation to this even if it results in disappointment as a result of a postponement.

The reasons for your postponement were made clear to you via email thus your assertion of ’non authentic’ reasons is false.

Your voucher is also from a third party and is non refundable, as is made transparent when you have made a booking and read and agreed to our terms and conditions.

We appreciate that a postponement can be an inconvenience and disappointment but it is made clear as stated that it is a possibility.

It is noted that you have spoken to our customer care team via online chat and it is disappointing that in this chat you became rude and hostile. This behaviour will not be tolerated as our staff deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect at all points, whether that be in person or electronically.

As has been stated to your, politely and professionally, you have the option to rebook or alter the names of participants.

A fantastic experience

Great Experience

The instructor I had for my flight experience was superb, I had a brilliant flight and saw some amazing views. When I had control of the plane myself it was a thrilling experience I felt at ease and comfy during my flight. It was a great day!

Absolute scams

I received this experience as a gift for my 30th birthday and I am now 32, still unable to actually use it. Every time I’ve tried to book, the experience has been randomly cancelled, always with less than 24 hours’ notice, making it impossible to plan around. and resulting in multiple cash loss for hotels as the location is not close to where i live.

I’ve repeatedly contacted Virgin and 001 helicopters to request a refund due to these ongoing cancellations. Initially, I was told a refund would be possible if the experience was cancelled three times by the provider. It has now been cancelled for the third time no surprise there, only for them to suddenly change their policy and say it now needs to be five cancellations instead.

This constant shifting of terms feels extremely unfair and frankly exhausting. I’ve shown patience over the last two years, but at this point it feels like the goalposts are being moved to avoid issuing a refund. A birthday gift should not turn into a two-year headache.

I would not recommend this experience or the handling of it — very disappointing customer service and a complete lack of accountability.

Helicopter experiences are, by their nature, weather dependent and late cancellations can sometimes be unavoidable where safety is concerned.

They cancelled my first 3 flights

They cancelled my first 3 flights. A wee bit of research told me that it was "probably" because I was the only one on the flight so there was no profit to make.
I did not have the opportunity to cancel the 4th booked flight because my mother-in-law was dying and passed away in the early hours of the day of my flights.
The email response was "...condolences. To reschedule would be £129"
Heartless money grabbers.

Firstly and most importantly, may we offer our sincere condolences to your family at this difficult time.

As you are aware, you had a confirmed booking for a confirmed event which went ahead as planned on Saturday 17th January 2026 at Cumbernauld Airport.

On the day of your flight it was noted that you had not ‘Checked In’ online which is often indicative of an individual not planning on attending their confirmed experience.

As such, you were contacted via telephone by our Helipad Manager. You explained that you would not be attending your flight owing to personal matters but you did not divulge the nature of these matters. You asked if the experience would be lost and it was politely explained that as it was a confirmed booking for a shared flight, the flight would continue with other scheduled guests and you would be ineligible to rebook as per the agreed terms.

It is essential that we maintain fairness and consistency for all customers and we would like to take the opportunity to remind you that without pressure or persuasion you agreed to our terms and conditions of business. It is clear and transparent that a voucher holder is ineligible to rebook if they fail to attend their confirmed experience, irrespective of circumstances. However, there is an exception to the aforementioned if ‘Flexible Cancellation’ is taken at the time of booking. Flexible Cancellation caters for a variety of unexpected circumstances and permits a customer to rebook within the standard 7 day term. This option was offered to you at the time of booking but you declined and agreed to the standard terms.

We appreciate the disappointment but we have acted as per the agreement made at the time of booking. However, in view of the circumstances, we would be delighted to offer you a discount code for 20% off a future experience. If this is of interest, please contact us via our website and ask to liaise with our Operations Manager.

Again, we offer our condolences.

We’re sorry you feel that way. Our intention in replying was simply to clarify the experience that was booked and delivered and to correct a number of inaccuracies raised in your original review.

We can confirm again that your booking was for a 12-mile flight: “A Glimpse of Glasgow Skyline”, and this is exactly what was provided on the day. Optional upgrades and alternative flight routes were available during the booking process but were not selected.

To put it simply, it’s a bit like booking a flight to Glasgow and then being disappointed it didn’t land in Timbuktu.
