A group of us booked tours with Africa Marvel. Both tours we paid in full on schedule. On 12 Day Safari Tour we encountered issues where Africa Marvel had not paid for accommodation and park fees. We were held for hours at different p[oints and had to pay to be allowed to progress with the tour. Issues were so great that the last days of the tour were cancelled because Africa Marvel had not paid tour costs. The Rwanda Tour to the gorillas we were then informed had not been booked despite initial assurance the tour was going ahead. Our group is owed over $US30000 for the Rwanda tour despite promises and deadlines given we have not received any funds whatsoever. We have been patient but given the time not it appears that Arica Marvel have kept our money. This is fraud so deal with this tour group at your own risk. What should have been an experience of a life time was a huge disappointment. Tour issues and cancellations were awful but compounded by Africa Marvel not even returning funds for services not provided.

We partnered with them to organize a group trip and transferred the agreed advance payment in full. Instead of using the funds responsibly, they spent the money and then, just two days before the trip, demanded that we transfer the same amount again, promising they would “deliver the trip now and refund later.”

This is not a misunderstanding — it’s a complete breach of trust and of basic professional ethics.

No travel company should ever operate this way. Their actions show a lack of financial integrity, zero respect for travelers, and a blatant disregard for legal obligations. A company behaving like this should not hold a tourism license, and its manager should not be working in the travel industry at all.

For the safety of your clients, your finances, and your peace of mind: do not work with them.

Our 11 family and friends “holiday of a lifetime” are still waiting for the USD30,000 owed to us from this unscrupulous company. Promises given to reimburse us while we were in Kenya have not been fulfilled.
We paid this company for services not provided, they cancelled trips at the last minute and promised to refund everything.
While the emotional stress continues the financial cost could easily be rectified by Africa Marvel to pay up what was promised and is owed to us!
Don’t trust this company !

Our group of 6 booked and paid, 8 months in advance, for a Rwanda gorilla trek through Africa Marvel. We flew from Australia to Nairobi - the night before our flight from Nairobi to Kigali, Perminus Muturi from Africa Marvel comes to our hotel to tell us the trek is cancelled. He admits the airfares and permits were never booked for us. This was not just a clerical error since we had been in contact many times the previous week, and were assured multiple times, all was organised.
This is fraud on a massive scale. One month on, we have not had our money refunded, and Perminus has ceased communicating when we try to ask about refunds.
Do not trust Africa Marvel!
Their booking system and literature is very convincing, they are very responsive at the office level.
You are taking a huge risk by sending them your money - steer clear of Africa Marvel.

My family and I had high hopes for our 12-Day Best of Tanzania and Kenya Safari (Mid-Range) tour, booked with Africa Marvel Tours from August 16 to August 27, 2024. After extensive research and saving up for this dream trip, we were excited to explore these incredible landscapes. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare, largely due to the agency's complete lack of professionalism and failure to deliver on their promises.

We paid the full amount to the agency per their requirement, 30% at booking and 70% two weeks prior to the trip, expecting everything to go smoothly. Instead, the agency repeatedly failed to pay park fees, accommodation costs, and even our driver’s wages on time. This led to multiple delays, forcing us to sit idle for hours, miss game drives, and even skip two parks altogether. In total, we wasted over 16 hours waiting on payments to be processed.
Here are the major issues we faced:
1. Border Delay: On Day 4, we were stuck at the Kenya-Tanzania border for 1.5 hours because the agency hadn’t paid for park tickets, gas, and driver fees. This caused us to miss the Lake Manyara game drive.
2. Ngorongoro Crater Issues: On Days 5 and 6, our schedule was delayed, and we were stranded for 5 hours waiting for the agency to cover Ngorongoro park fees. Due to these delays, we had to cancel our Serengeti stay and move to a camp near Ngorongoro, which was arranged at the very last minute after we had to argue with the agency.
3. Masai Mara Payment Problems: While our driver provided outstanding service during our Masai Mara visit, he later told us that Africa Marvel Tours hadn’t paid him. He had to cover the expenses from his own pocket. He is a freelance tour driver, hired by this company for our trip. The agency continuously promised him reimbursement, which never happened.
4. Accommodation Issues: On Days 10 and 11, we were held in the lobby for hours at different lodges due to unpaid balances by the agency.
5. Final Day Misery: On our last day, we spent a total of 7 hours waiting in a restaurant parking lot for the agency to deliver a meager $135 refund to me and to pay my driver. The agency representative claimed they have no money to pay the driver because they are experiencing some cash flow issue. He eventually signed an agreement to pay our driver 98800 Kenya Shillings =1, 035 Canadian Dollars by September 5, but to this day, no payment has been made. We missed our Nairobi Park visit as a result. We also missed Elephant Orphanage visit because the agency failed to book it in advance.
Our driver went above and beyond, often covering expenses himself to ensure our trip wasn’t completely ruined. He truly tried to salvage our experience, and it’s devastating to see him suffer such financial loss and disrespect from the agency.

I have reported Africa Marvel Tours to the following organizations. These organizations have the right to investigate them and make corrections. Despite all my frustration and stress during my trip, my biggest concern is whether our Driver can get his money back.

Please carefully select your safari tour agency. No one should go through what we experienced.

My husband and I had an amazing safari in Masai Mara. First of all they were very quick to respond. When we were making a bank transfer we wasn’t informed that the bank in Kenya would charge 22 usd for each transaction. This was a bit of a bummer as we ended up paying 44 usd just for the transaction. Beside that we had an excellent experience.Our driver guide Sam was very informative and answered all our questions. He was very flexible to make our wishes come true. We saw the big five and all the animals with cubs. On our last day we drove to Lake Naivasha to see the hippos.
Thanks to Africa marvel tours we had an amazing experience.

My wife and I had our last minute trip in August, visiting Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara. Africa Marvel Tours did a fantastic job suggesting options for us and our driver guide, Ken was really informative and made sure we had best spots for game drives. Masai Mara turned out to be a real safari gem.We saw all the big 5 and had a chance to experience the migration. When we return we shall definitely use this tour operator.
