The "WORST" flight experience ever!!!

Simply the "WORST" flight experience ever. I will never recommend to anyone specially Bangladeshi Passport. They show no respect at all.
In addition, they've the oldest aircraft ever. No Idea how they are flying to a long distance with such an aircraft like the route: Delhi-Toronto. Interior is a garbage including the seats and its fabric.

The boarding staffs are so incompetent in terms of the immigration scenarios.

The meals are good though. And the cabin crews seemed nice to me.

The worst airline that should not be


The worst airline that should not be used by anyone! All staff are incompetent and don’t have a clue about immigration rules namely OCI passport and how this works. Various other airlines and in particular Indian immigration officers have never lifted an eyebrow about OCI passport and Air India have refused for my son to travel with a valid OCI passport! Disgusting, preposterous and awful service and knowledge, or lack of knowledge especially of Navin Sikka at London Heathrow terminal 2. Please don’t use this airline EVER!

Flyselskab under al kritik

FuldstÊndig kaotisk flyselskab - har aldrig oplevet noget lignende. Vi startede med at vÊre 3 timer forsinket fra KÞbenhavn da man ikke havde nogen pilot til at flyve flyet (Vi overhÞrte personalet). Flyet fra KÞbenhavn var fuldstÊndig slidt, 90% af skÊrmene virkede ikke, og det dryppede ned fra loftet med kondens under flyvningen, som man så valgt at stoppe ved at stikke servietter op i hullet hvor det kom fra. Da der ikke var nogen underholdning, eller opladning til telefonen, måtte vi istedet ligge os til at sove, hvilket jeg blev vÊkket fra ved at der var EN KAKKERLAK der kravlede på mig!!! Maden var kold og alt for stÊrk til den gÊngse dansker, og de havde ikke nok retter til at man kunne vÊlge imellem de to muligheder.

Forsinkelsen medfulgte så at vi havde lige nÞjagtig 20 min til at finde vores fly i Delhi hvilket betÞd at vi måtte lÞbe igennem hele lufthavnen da der stod LAST CALL på vores fly til Phuket. Da vi kommer ind i flyet, sidder vi så og venter i 1,5 time fÞr de lukker dÞrene og flyver afsted... Der var ingen kommunikation overhovedet omkring forsinkelse - vi sad bare og ventede... Flyet var iskoldt under flyvningen, og flere måtte tage jakker og tÊpper over sig...

Et flyselskab jeg ALDRIG kommer til at flyve med igen (sagt fra en der har vÊret i over 45 lande og flÞjet MANGE gange).

Aldrig Air india igen

Dårlige slidte fly. Toiletter virker ikke på fly, og dem som virker er uhumske! Personale om bord er ikke til at forstår, og virker ikke som om de har lyst til at vÊre der, Ingen tider overholdt (Cph-dehli- bkk) og retur.
Bagage ikke kommet med hele vejen.
Dehli lufthavn kaos.

AIR India very poor service in refunds

AIR India flight from Gatwick airport to Ahmedabad was delayed over 6Hours in 28th August 2024 After claiming a refund on my business class ticket it is now over 10 weeks since I put my refund case . However after multiple emails and bank details AIR India has no intentions of refunding the money owed. The only way is to raise a dispute. Very poor customer service I hope I don't have to travel with this airline

Don't do it!!!!!

Many flight changes to impossible schedules, zero help from customer service, no reply to mails. This is by far the worst airline ever experienced. Really, never book with them you will regret it big time!

No response from customer services

Can someone please call me urgently regarding a booking made last year but flights not taken. The booking details are PNR: V6UGV6. I have been trying to contact you for months now & despite leaving umpteen voice messages, no one has contacted me. I need something in writing from you to forward to my insurance company so that I can finally claim our fares back. This is SHOCKING customer service! Gillian White

Worst On-board facilities

Flight from Kochi to London Gatwick on 16/11/24. Not going to waste too much time writing this as I don't think Air India will act on any feedback and only way they may change is by no-one using them until significant changes made.

Issue was once boarded on the delayed flight, the experience on board was at best poor. The flight had no in-flight entertainment on all classes. Seats in incredibly poor condition. Food not great. Toilets stank of urine and parts of facias tapped up to hide holes and hold things in place. Staff tried their best to cover up for the significantly inferior plane. If that is the condition of the interior, who knows what it's like for technical and safety.

I won't use again and suggest no-one else does until they change their ways.

The list of problems is almost endless

The list of problems is almost endless, but let me mention one here.

We had booked flights Kathmandu-Delhi-Copenhagen (going home) on November 9th, 2024. A week earlier, while we were in the Nepalese mountains and only by coincidence shortly online, an email arrives, stating our plane from Delhi to Copenhagen had been cancelled. Just like that - no other solution suggested, just a short message.

We then spend a considerable amount of money (roaming charges) trying to get a real person on the phone from Air India. After numerous tries we succeed, and the person on the phone books us traveling from Kathmandu to Delhi on November 7th, and from Delhi to Copenhagen on November 8th. With a 22 hour break in Delhi airport.

Arriving November 7th at the Delhi airport Air India transfer desk in Terminal 3, we were told that there was no airport hotel room for us. The responsible manager basically told us to go away. I told him I wanted to file a complaint and asked for his name - he said something like Shital Mathur. When I asked him to spell it, he simply walked away, so I do not know if the name is correct.

I do, however, know that Air India knows absolutely nothing about decent customer service, provided Mr. Shital Mathur behaved like his management wants him to. if he didn't, I suggest, Air India lets him go.

I will never fly Air India again, and I suggest other travelers look for alternatives. For instance, Turkish Airlines fly to Kathmandu. Going forward, I will diligently recommend friends and relatives to avoid Air India.

Never Again,
Air India flight AI128 London to Bombay one hours and 15 minuets delayed ,Then Bombay miss the flight to Amritsar Flight AI649. even there was 2.45 hours time between connected flight ,Than air advise passenger sit down somewhere on the chairs till next flight after 24 hours. You what 24H sit on chairs! It created anger within hundreds passengers, eventually hours arguments they reluctantly provide hotel. Next day after 24 hours catch flight Normally Indian food very popular here in UK, But if you taste food in the flight It reminds your food garbage collection truck ,seem they learn from them and tied with hotel and restaurant to collect their food waste. Looks like The Boss man trying to become richest person in the world ,Just hungry for money like mad dog no care whatsoever treating people like garbage. Anyway Amritsar flight also delayed even they couldn't made it on time . I heard in India olden days train were late 24 hours Plus, it was definite train have be be late. I think they are same family of train drivers now running Air India and keep their ancestors happy with same time keeping donation. Never recommended any one ,Even if they offer you £200 cheaper ticket there is reason behind it and prepare yourself if you decide to choose them .My ticket was £965 and its not cheap.

No compensation Given

I talk with customer care service for new flight then they provide me flight on 22th November via DEL.

1. no direct flight which i prefer before booking

2. now it’s costing me more for ICE train from Berlin to Frankfurt and i ready book ICE for 25th NOV. Now again I need to book ICE for 2 person and now it’s too costly due to 3 weeks left for flight.

Refund system doesn't work

Refund system doesn't work. Tried for a refund through the refund request on the website, then got an email telling me to call customer support. Called customer support, put in my ticket number and it says its invalid. Try to request another refund through the website and it says I can't because I already have another case with that number, even though it's closed. Cheers! I'm not out £140 from you guys.

Useless customer service team

We have been trying to move our flight as my partner is pregnant and they won’t allow her to fly so close to the due date (1 week after we land). For 3 months we have been back and forth with all the documents they require and now they have sent us back to the agent we booked with again so we are back at square 1! It seems the case is picked up with a new person with each email and you have to spend hours going over the same information time and time again.

Ich habe wiederholt gesagt, dass diese Punkte entscheidend waren
FÃŒr zukÃŒnftige Reisen, als ich mit dem Bodenpersonal und dem Management von Air India zu tun hatte, weil ich a) Mitglied der Star Alliance von Air New Zealand bin und b) eine Umbuchung auf einen Flug ohne Star Alliance nicht akzeptieren wÃŒrde, und angesichts der Tatsache, dass nicht nur ein, sondern drei Star Alliance-FlÃŒge nach Sydney innerhalb der von mir angegebenen Fristen verfÃŒgbar waren, ist die Tatsache, dass Sie direkt gegen meine WÃŒnsche vorgegangen sind und mich auf einen Flug umgebucht haben, bei dem ich meine Punkte nicht fÃŒr eine zukÃŒnftige Reise von AKL nach NRT verwenden kann, um mich wieder mit meiner Tochter zu vereinen, absolut abstoßend und widerspricht völlig Ihren Behauptungen, einen hervorragenden Kundenservice zu bieten.

Sie sollten diese Punkte als einen Akt des guten Willens wiederherstellen, um Ihren Rufschaden zu reparieren, der durch das schiere Ausmaß an Inkompetenz wÀhrend der Interaktionen und auch durch das schiere Ausmaß an Fehlinformationen ÃŒber das Boarding bei professioneller FahrlÀssigkeit entstanden ist: Lassen Sie mich das alles aufzÀhlen

Ihre Telefonnummern auf der App, der Website und den FAQ-Seiten sind entweder nicht erreichbar oder können von internationalen Reisenden in Krisenmomenten nicht erreicht werden,
Ihre E-Mail-Adressen in der Hilfe und in den FAQ enthalten Syntaxfehler, die das Versenden von E-Mails nicht zulassen, und Sie verweigern Anrufern die Möglichkeit, gÌnstigere Dienste wie Skype zu nutzen, um Servicenummern anzurufen,
Sie geben Ìberhaupt keine lokalen Telefonnummern an, um gestresste Kunden zu betreuen, und ich vermute, dass dies auch darauf zurÌckzufÌhren ist, dass Sie belogen und gezwungen wurden, keine EntschÀdigung fÌr Ihre Inkompetenz zu zahlen.

Sie unterhalten kein wirkliches TicketbÌro, in dem ich aktiv fÌr mein Recht kÀmpfen könnte, auf einen Flug meiner Wahl umgebucht zu werden, und sagen mir, dass ich als nicht erschienen gelte, wenn ich den Flug nicht antrete, dem ich nicht zugestimmt habe. Das ist Nötigung.

Ihre Kundendienstmitarbeiter haben mir wiederholt ins Gesicht gelogen, als es um die Flugoptionen ging, und behaupteten, sie könnten meine Buchung aufgrund des Ticketingsystems nicht Àndern.
Kein Zugang - das ist eine glatte LÃŒge, denn so funktioniert das Zusammenspiel mit diesem System nicht.

Mir wurde gesagt, ich solle mich an einen nicht existierenden Flughafenmanager wenden, um die Änderung vorzunehmen, und dass dies die einzigen Personen seien, die diese Änderungen an meinem nicht genehmigten Flug vornehmen könnten.

Ich wurde von Mitarbeitern der Flugscheinausstellung in mehreren Abteilungen darauf hingewiesen, dass diese Information eine glatte LÃŒge und nur eine Taktik von Air India war, um die Verantwortung fÃŒr ihren Fehler zu ÃŒbernehmen.

Die Mitarbeiter der Beschwerdestelle und der Flugscheinausstellung am MXP wiesen mich darauf hin, dass es in der Tat Ihr Recht ist, mir die verlorenen Punkte zu gewÀhren, und dass der einzige Grund dafÌr, dass Sie dies bisher nicht getan haben, darin besteht, dass Sie mehr daran interessiert sind, Ihre Taschen mit Geld zu fÌllen, als sich fÌr Ihr schlimmes und widerliches Verhalten bei der Bearbeitung meines Falls zu verantworten. Und das als ein Akt des guten Willens

Ich finde es absolut entsetzlich, dass Sie weiterhin behaupten, dass Sie aufgrund Ihrer Regeln und Vorschriften keine Punkte wiederherstellen können, sich dann aber weigern, diese Regeln und Vorschriften zu Ìbermitteln, um diese Behauptung zu beweisen.

Sie sind ein schmutziges GeschÀft, das hinterhÀltige Taktiken an den Tag gelegt hat, um mit dem Gewicht Ihrer Fehler und LÌgen umzugehen, und ich werde Sie jetzt öffentlich fÌr dieses Verhalten beschÀmen, bis Sie mir meine verlorenen Punkte der BUSINESS CLASS STAR ALLIANCE zurÌckgeben und mir Ihre Politik und Ihre Regeln zur VerfÌgung stellen, damit Ihre LÌgen ÌberprÌft werden können.
Bitte teilen Sie mir, wie gefordert, Ihre Richtlinien und Bestimmungen mit, aus denen hervorgeht, warum Sie mich nicht fÌr den betrÀchtlichen monetÀren Verlust entschÀdigen können, der hier durch den Verlust von vollwertigen Business-Class-Punkten entstanden ist, die ich ausdrÌcklich als wichtig fÌr meine Umbuchung bezeichnet habe.

Sub standard airline from planes to staff

Air India service from checkin to inflight is bad. Their planes are unclean in general and their staff don’t care about even providing basic service to their passengers. And don’t bother calling Air India or go on their website which are equally bad. I have traveled twice recently and it was bad experience each time. Will never use them again

Very Bad Customer Service, Worst Flight Experience

The unprofessional and bad customer service of Air India Staff in Mumbai made me miss my flight and they are still yet to release my luggage more than a week after flying with their airline.
I booked Air India after missing a flight in Singapore. Yet, their staff in Mumbai wasted my time after collecting my passport and disappeared with it to obtain a boarding pass (which is a weird practice. Why shouldn’t the boarding pass be issued at the international transfer counter as in other airports?).
They only reappeared after several follow ups with their colleagues at the counter only to say they couldn’t find anyone at the counter issuing the boarding pass. So, I missed the second connecting flight too.
To make matters worse, Air India didn’t transfer my luggage to my connecting flight from Mumbai. 10 days after arriving at my destination, the luggage is still in Mumbai and their customer service stopped responding to my follow ups.
This is my worst travel experience and will never recommend Air India to anyone. Never.

There is so many airlines, please don't use this one

Since there is enough rants about this absurd airline I'll just make a list so you can check quickly why you shouldn't fly with these dilletantes.

- about 90% of screens in B787 broken
- dirty floor with stains, ugly interior
- horrible food, no continental option
- toilet paper missing in toilets, toilets dirty
- extremely tiny seats in connecting A320 plane, if the person goes back in front of you, you get the seat in your face. In my opinion not acceptable for a Star Alliance flight of 4 hours. No screens.
- security in Delhi takes your vape even if you don't immigrate. So you are NOT entering India. Having vapes in your hand luggage is not forbidden. So why? To me, this is theft and I will never accept this behaviour again.
- According to trip.com where I had booked the flight, Air India has refused to refund me the TAXES of my flight back when I wanted to cancel it. Even if they don't refund the ticket price itself they HAVE TO refund the taxes and according to German law even some of the ticket (because they will sell it again in most cases). Also they only provided shady lists of how my ticket price comes together. 450€ taxes in a 540€ flight? And all on the way there so there is nothing to refund on the way back? Of course, yeah. Just ridiculous.

I hope this list is enough for you to avoid this terrible airline forever. I have never experienced such ridiculous behaviour before and I won't accept it again. As you can see the rest of the service is also not nice, they can't even bring enough toilet paper.
