What type of a company requires you to leave a positive review for them to release a refund?

My experience is that I mistakenly believed I was dealing with a different company I already have an account with. The warning flags were there but I must have been distracted and provided the information they wanted. This company set up a direct debit using my payment details without my consent, however I realised this before payment was taken and had the instruction cancelled.

To be fair, when I contacted them they did respond quickly, cancel the DD mandate and were very polite in their communications. They took a small payment which was authorised (I thought it was a postage payment) and they are willing to refund it provided I put a positive review on Trust Pilot.

This situation has continued to worsen. After my previous reviews, the company issued only partial refunds and repeatedly asked me to remove or change my review before releasing the remaining amount.
They just send the same automated message multiple times, ignoring my direct responses. My credits also expire on April 1(which given the circumstances is kinda ironic), and their repeated delays appear intentional. This pattern of partial refunds, review manipulation, and stalling has been consistent through the entire process.

At this point writing public reviews seems to be the only way to get any response or action from the company.
