Me puse el balón a primeros de octubre en Instituto de Obesidad en Madrid y tras 4 meses más o menos con el, me ayudó a tener saciedad y que se me hiciese más sencillo seguir las pautas de mi nutricionista. Mi hermana tenÃa problemas con la obesidad y estaba frustrada porque esto le impedÃa poder realizarse un tto de fecundidad. Great experience. I heard of the Allurion program via a friend and was sceptical it would work for me. My clinician gave me a clear heads-up of what to expect. Swallowing the capsule was super easy, first week was a little uncomfortable, but witnessing the weight loss in the following weeks was amazing. Would recommend it to anybody!

Life-changing, but not a magic wand â you still have to do the work
I had the Allurion balloon placed 8 months ago and Iâm currently 18 kg down. It hasnât been easy all the way through, but for me itâs been absolutely worth it.
The first few days were rough â lots of nausea and cramps, and I wondered what on earth Iâd done. My clinic warned me this could happen, and they checked in on me by phone twice during that week, and also had given me advice on what to eat, which helped a lot. After about day 4â5 things settled, and I suddenly realised I was getting full really quickly on much smaller portions.
What the balloon really gave me was a pause button and structure:
- I wasnât constantly thinking about food.
- I could actually follow the nutritionistâs advice without feeling deprived.
- The regular check-ins kept me accountable when my motivation dipped.
I wonât pretend itâs a miracle cure â you still have to change how you eat and move. There were weeks where the scale barely moved and I had to remind myself to stick to the plan. But overall, Iâve lost 18 kg, my blood pressure has improved, and I can walk up stairs without feeling out of breath. Iâm also keeping my new habits now that the balloon has passed.
If youâre expecting an effortless fix, this isnât it. If youâre ready to put in the effort and want a strong tool and support to help you get there, then in my experience the Allurion program can be a real game-changer.
