Gear for geeks.

AMD processors are for the geeks. You have to install them into your motherboard differently from the Intel. They require way better cooling options. But in the end they offer a great value for money if you think about it.
Plus none of my several AMD processors brought me troubles whatsoever.

Crashe

J'ai jamais eu de souci avec INTEL, j'ai voulu essayer une fois AMD, que des ennuis, des drivers qu'il faut réinstaller périodiquement, écrans noirs, écran non reconnu etc...
En plus ils osent accuser windows update: windows met à jour le driver, et ca marche plus... peut être qu'il aurait fallu faire en sorte que les drivers à jour fonctionnent?
Plus jamais ca.

Bought amd 6650 xt graphic card with 2


Bought amd 6650 xt graphic card with 2 rewarded games times ago. Card works good and one of the rewarded games is working great, the other game (Dead Island) released 5 months later and does nor work at all with the card i purchased. Wrote 6 times to the game support did not solve it. Wrote AMD rewards to tell that it is not all right one promised game is unusable, answer was "it is not our concern.. Solve it with others". So if you buy an AMD, do not get cheated by any free games or software, just check if they are released and stable before buying..

Unacceptable Obsolescence of AMD Ryzen Threadripper Processor

Dear AMD,

I write to express my profound dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs surrounding the High end AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X processor. Having acquired this processor at a significant cost exceeding 1000 euros merely six years ago, I find it completely unacceptable that it is now deemed incompatible with Windows 11. Such a level of obsolescence is unequivocally unacceptable, especially given prevailing legislative frameworks.

I would like to draw your attention to relevant European laws regarding reasonable driver updates. Pursuant to the European Union Directive 1999/44/EC, Article 5(1), it is clearly stipulated that "the seller shall deliver goods to the consumer which are in conformity with the contract of sale." Furthermore, Article 5(2) affirms that "the goods shall be presumed to be in conformity with the contract if they [...] are fit for the purposes for which goods of the same type are normally used."

As a consumer, I have the reasonable expectation that a product of this nature would receive ongoing driver updates to maintain compatibility with modern operating systems. The current lack of support for Windows 11 represents a clear violation of these legislative provisions and highlights a disregard for consumer rights.

I demand that you take immediate action to rectify this situation in accordance with European consumer protection laws. It is incumbent upon AMD to fulfill its obligation to provide reasonable and timely driver updates for its products, ensuring their continued functionality and compatibility.

I expect a prompt response outlining the steps AMD will undertake to address this issue and provide a satisfactory resolution. Failure to do so will leave me no choice but to pursue further legal avenues to safeguard my rights as a consumer.

Ich werde nie wieder was von AMD kaufen , so ein dreck. Treiber fehlerhaft nichts funktioniert ordentlich. Bei jedem spiel muss man irgendwas umstellen um zu zocken zu können. So viele Fehler amd in seiner Software hat ist beeindruckend und das die Leute sich auf so ein kake einlassen und kaufen grenzt an Wahnsinn.
Ich hoffe ihr verschwindet von den Markt , weil eure Produkte sind nicht mal fÃŒr Toaster games gut. Das erste und letzte mal habe ich diese unfertig und billige Hardware gekauft.

Intel bleib killer und da gehe ich auch zurÃŒck. Es lebe INTEL UND NVIDIA BEST HARDWARE.

just to say amd software ( included raid drivers ect )
is just a bug reincarnation :-)
have both intel and amd systems's,,,
intel stable work great.
AMD bug here and bug there...
amd hardware ( ( yeah just beccause are more cheap :-) ) so cpu , gpu acceptable but it's software and drivers are a issue buged ecosystem
making windows 10 x64 instable not enjoyable and not userfriendly for new users and advanced ppl :-(

Live Customer Assistance *RUDE*

i bought a rx 6800 and registered for amd everything about the card is fine BUT

When it comes down to getting help from online support this is where amd is lacking

i went to get support from online live assistance to log into my account today and had a bad experience i needed their help with a simple password reset because their system wasn't emailing me the token for the reset they said that they cant help with it and i said you are supposed to be online support for things ESPECIALLY like this and he closed the session instead of helping which SHOULDN'T be even happening it was such a disrespectful experience i had to tell others

Bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 with a Ryzen


Bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 with a Ryzen 5625u CPU which I thought was a good performing ultralight laptop. However, after some use both on AC and battery I noticed a significant decrease in performance on battery which was verified with some benchmarks and a couple articles that also verified this. Apparently this is by design to improve battery life by reducing performance. There is no way to obtain similar performance on battery as with AC. No settings can achieve this and your stuck with a lessor performing laptop on battery. I am all for options to save battery if that is what I desire, but if I want maximum performance I expect an option to have that as well. Seems to me this is a undesirable trade off just to get better battery life. At the very least it should be properly disclosed to the buyer that performance is degraded in battery to enhance battery life. I have yet to find a way to override this performance reduction under battery and think that a setting should be offered that overrides this power reduction if desired. None of the OEM, Bios, or Windows setting seem to have any effect on this even in performance mode settings. Its really a bit of bait and switch where AMD mobile CPU's have not become more efficient then Intel, they have only reduced performance and power draw on battery to make it look like they have. I won't ever buy another AMD product.

Kommunikation mit Kundendienst kriminell

Die Kommunikation mit dem Kundendienst ist eine UnverschÀmtheit. Wenn irgendwas nichts ins Skript passt bekommt man dauerhaft Textpassagen zugesendet die man weder angefordert hat noch benötigt. Was AMD und DigitalRiver hier abziehen ist wirklich unterste Schublade. Versucht bloß nicht einen GewÀhrleistungsfall einzureichen, die Zeit kann man sich sparen. Karte bei AMD.com gekauft, AMD sagt "GewÀhrleistung ist Sache des VerkÀufers, melden sie Sich bei DigitalRiver", haben Sie ja auch recht. DigitalRiver sagt "AMD hat einen eigenen Kundendienst, bitte wenden sie sich unter diesem Link an AMD." und der Kreis geht wieder von Vorne los.
Kriminell wie die beiden Firmen hier die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene GewÀhrleistung aushebeln.

I will never buy AMD Radeon video cards again

I bought a Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX video card on launch day 12/13/2022. From that moment a lot of problems, the computer that doesn't turn off properly anymore, that restarts by itself, probably due to the AMD drivers that are really shameful and full of bugs. Furthermore, since the settings are not saved, I have to manually, each time, increase the speed of the fans and weaken the video card by 10%, because otherwise the Hot Spot reaches temperatures over 100 degrees and having paid 1300 euros for it, one expects perhaps a defined, functional and performing product. Thank You AMD

ignorierte AMD Support Anfrage

Nachdem ich Problemen mit einige Spiele auf meine Notebook mit Windows 11 Home 64 Bit und den Prozessor AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics von AMD hatte, haben die Spiele Entwickler durch meine mitgeteilte MSInfo 32 und dxdiag gemeint das meine Grafikkarten Treiber veraltet wÀre.
Daraufhin habe ich mit bei Support von AMD gebeten die richtige Grafikkarten Treiber zu zeigen.
Nachdem ich den Treiber installiert und Notebook neu gestartet habe, hatte ich plötzlich keine Grafikkarte mehr und habe mich vor circa 1 Woche mit neue dxdiag und MSInfo32 gemeldet und neuen Stand, das ich keine Grafikkarten Treiber besitze und seitdem habe ich nichts mehr von die gelesen.

Ich bin bitter enttÀuscht von AMD, weil die Support Anfragen ignorieren und behaupten das die innerhalb von 48 Stunden sich zurÌck melden, was gar nicht stimmt.

Ich empfehle niemanden AMD mit ihren Tricks zu vertrauen.

Quick RMA process

I have had over 10 AMD CPUs for years, but my last purchase, a 5900X died after only 2 months in use.
Overall the RMA process was quick and mostly okay.

I hope, however, that they do improve the process a little bit.
1) Took a few email interactions with the support, before they accept the photos and proof of purchase, even though I sent pretty much the same documents each time;
2) As part of the email with instructions to submit the part, they say I should pick (and implicitly pay) a carrier for the return shipping, but after they sent me a pre-paid return label with FedEx - That was after I already posted and paid shipping (with insurance) with UPS.

Despite that, I commend them for handling the case with agility.
