Brought this for very hard of hearing


Brought this for very hard of hearing 96 year old.Staff at Amplifiedtelephones helpful with initial issues with phone.
As regards the Big Tel 40.
It is easy to use with the pre set photo call buttons. No unnecessary answer phone, nice and basic. It’s big disadvantage is the ringer is quieter than conventional phone, over came this by adding an in line loud ringer from Amazon. Also user needs to press the red button to amplify the receiver sound, easy to do and effective but another thing for someone who has had a stroke to master.

The ordering and delivery were great

The ordering and delivery were great, but the phone it’s self is as good as useless, very difficult to program and just can’t get the listening volume up to even a level that I can hear but this phone was for my 93 mum

Thank you for your feedback.

I am very sorry that you have experienced difficulties with the volume on your new handset.

The phone you purchased has a volume boost function which increases the volume of the handset speaker.

To activate this, you need to be on a call and then press the button on the side of the handset, in line with the middle of the screen.

The handset reverts to a standard volume when you end the call to protect any users who may not be experiencing hearing difficulties.

The model you purchased is extremely popular and very loud. A family member of mine has one and it really does help as they are hearing impaired.

I'm sorry,I had to return the phone

I'm sorry,I had to return the phone. The charging cable didn't fit to charge it. I have a receipt to prove postage. I packaged it carefully so I am now waiting for a refund.

Screen is not bright enough

The phone you purchased has a grey LCD type screen, so I understand why it may not be bright enough for you.

We do have other alternatives available which have a brighter back lit display, and some have large characters too.

Excellent telephone.

I like everything about this telephone, so glad I bought it.
I'm now able to have conversations and receive incoming calls without all the stress of deafness.
I also like the chunky hand receiver and the fact that it is sturdy and looks good too.
