A significant delay with the SIP call from the Arlo Doorbell can be caused by a low upload speed or weak Wi‑Fi signal strength. Both factors can affect how quickly the doorbell responds when it’s pressed and how fast it connects after you answer the SIP call on your mobile device. We recommend running a speed test using the following link: https://www.speedtest.net

Our Video Doorbells require up to 2 Mbps upload speed per unit to function as expected.

The delay in accessing local recordings in the Arlo Secure app via Direct Storage Access may also be related to the same network conditions.

We’ve updated our pricing to reflect the increasing investment required to maintain and improve the service. Arlo Secure goes beyond basic cloud storage by combining advanced AI detection, European‑based cloud hosting, and ongoing feature enhancements to deliver a highly reliable, privacy‑focused security platform. To receive an alert when a visitor presses your Video Doorbell, in addition to the SIP call, you have a couple of options:

1. You can connect the Video Doorbell to an Arlo Chime 2 (sold separately), which is designed for indoor use. Each time someone presses your Video Doorbell, the Arlo Chime 2 will play a melody.

2. Alternatively, you can hardwire your Video Doorbell to an existing mechanical or digital chime with a voltage of 8–24V AC. This setup will both trickle‑charge the doorbell’s battery and ring your existing chime whenever the doorbell is pressed.
