Purchased a pair of trousers online. Arran Active's website was easy to use & secure, and the trousers were dispatched without delay. Arrived suitably packaged and exactly as described. Good communications so I could see how my order was progressing. A good experience all round, thank you.

My partner was buying a pair of £130 trainers. It was the only pair in her size I could find in the store. As one shoe was slightly looser than the other after being on display and being tried on bby other shoppers. I asked the young man who was serving us (Lewis) if there was possibly another fresh pair in the stock room. He looked at the trainers and then at me as if this was an unacceptable request then walked to the computer muttering to himself. He returned and said no there were no others of that size. His attitude to a perfectly reasonable request was rude and unnecessary.

Great, friendly staff at Arran Active. We were under-prepared for our very wet holiday in Arran in April and they sorted us out with waterproof trousers, new boots and a coat for the dog. I also grabbed an Isle of Arran OS map picnic blanket on the way out. I had bought PacMat blankets there before but given them away as gifts and wanted one for the family. Finally, it's June, and the weather is good enough to use it and I have now noticed it is not the original PacMat brand. The design of the stuff bag is almost identical and the product very similar, with the main obvious difference being dimensions: 130X150 compared to the PacMat 140X140. I can't speak to the quality or durability yet, but if you're going to Arran Active hoping for a PacMat, just check first as it would be easy to make the same mistake. A quick look on-line and I see the original PacMat design is still available.

Very friendly and helpful staff, checked the weather and our safety was priority when hiring a two person kayak. Good equipment and very reasonable price for the hire too.
They also advised spots to visit along the coast, didn’t see any seals but stunning scenery of the glen, Goat Fell, and Brodick, and a worthwhile visit to the beach hut (Arran Botanicals). We’ll do it again on our next visit.

I have now bought twice from Arran Active online and I find their service is second to none: very helpful, friendly and efficient. So much pleasanter than dealing with a huge online warehouse. And if you've seen a better price elsewhere, it might be worth asking if they can match it.

We hired an SUP for the day. Good quality equipment with nothing missing in the bag. Easy to carry and inflate/deflate and repack. Staff were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about good places to go on the island taking level of experience and meteorological conditions into consideration. I would highly recommend this business/ SUP hire service. Also a great shop for every else you could need for all outdoor adventures or rainy day holiday retail mood repair!

Great customer service from start to finish. Brilliant way to try out SUP, also top end gear. Plus one of the best outdoor shops going, hard to leave without making a purchase!
