The pdf reader doesn't actually read the whole pdf. Since it only uses a few pages, from the whole document, to craft its responses, it rarely gives valuable answers.

Bad AI Tool and BassÚ Customer Service
I signed up for this service and, from the start, was disappointed. It really never did a good job at much of anything that was more than a few lines of simple text. To make it all worse, when I tried to cancel, I went through the process and thought I did. Then the next year I got a bill from them. So immediately I wrote an email explaining I attempted to cancel a year ago when I realized how awful the service was, and was met with a customer service named Anthony who told me that would not give me a discount but would give me a 50% one. I tried to explain again, but they would not budge. My point is, do not use them for anything.

I had a very disappointing experience with AskYourPDF. My subscription was auto-renewed without any warning, which I cancelled immediately on the same day I was charged. When I requested a refund, I was simply pointed to their terms and conditions and told that the company has a strict âno refundâ policy, despite the fact that UK consumer protection law provides a 14-day cooling-off period for online and distance sales.
This approach feels deliberately unfair and misleading. To make matters worse, the product itself is underwhelming: the algorithm often fails to accurately summarize articles and even inserts unrelated external information that wasnât part of the original document.
This company is taking advantage of customers with questionable business practices and a subpar product. Not worth the money, spend it elsewhere.
No Customer Support Number- Red Flag!!!
First, I knew this was a questionable business when I could not locate a customer service number. But, I took a chance since the trial cost was affordable. On July 17, 2025, I paid $1.00 for a 3 day trial. I own a Chromebook, and immediately discovered their features do not function optimally with my device. Since I could not achieve my purpose of trying their service, I cancelled my "trial" membership within an hour or so after signing up. However, I received a notification from my bank 2 days later stating a payment of $19.99 went to AskYourPDF. I immediately reached out to them via email- because I could not locate a customer support number- and requested a refund, explaining that I could not use it due to device incompatibility. Their representative Anthony, told me I should use another device/browser and that they don't refund. We exchanged a few more emails, with the last being my request to correspond with a supervisor: I have yet to receive a reply. It's obvious from the negative, well-written reviews, sharing similar experiences, this platforms should be held accountable for their negligence, poor business practices, and misrepresentation of charges.

Initial PDF queries provided access to documents I hadn't uploaded (basically allowing me to search someone else's files) - a major privacy issue upon release.
Lost access to account - no options were given to cancel subscription except via customer support (which is slow to respond).
Charged without permission - and no ability to cancel subscription so have to report as fraud to the bank.
Unethical, Misleading, and Zero Customer Support
This company is unethical and completely misleading in how it operates. I signed up for a 3-day trial and entered my card details assuming Iâd have control over whether to continue. I did not authorize any payment after the trial ended, yet they still charged me $19 without my consent.
To make matters worse, their customer service is terrible. There is no one available to help, no proper support system, and my refund requests have been completely ignored. It feels like they purposely avoid accountability and make it impossible to resolve billing issues.
I did not use the service beyond the trial, and this unauthorized charge is not just unprofessionalâitâs fraudulent.
Avoid this company at all costs. They trap users, charge without permission, and offer no real support when things go wrong
Really bad customer service
Really bad customer service. One day after accidentally buying this product I wanted to make use of my right of withdrawal. They answered until the point where I asked for the law, after that I just got ignored completely. Neither the chat nor the email support replied to any of my messages. Now I paid 100$ for something I did not need or am using. Can not recommend this support at all.

Bad chatbot and overcharging
I also got a student discount but it was only applicable for the first month. This information was not on their website. So they charged me extra for the next two months. I tried to contact them but they answer only after you've sent them 2 or more emails one after the other.
Anyway I've used askyourpdf for approximately 3 monthts and I can therefore tell you that it really is just like chatgpt or even worse. Just buy the premium version of chatgpt. Most of the functions of askyourpdf don't work. The app has big problems with analysing several papers at once and the chatbot is the worst chatbot I've ever seen.

Terrible customer service, blocked from my account due to a technical error their end, so unable to cancel my account. Charged anyway. Customer support refused to refund, charged anyway and and deleted access for the month Iâd paid. Rude. Do not use unless you want a seriously poor experience and fraudulent business practices not inline with EU law.
Doesn't care about EU law
I contacted the company to request a refund. As a EU citizen I have consumer rights. At first I got replies to my mail and they didn't want to give me my refund. After emphasizing that I have the rights to it, they stopped answering my mails. My last reply was on 6th of September, so more than 2 weeks ago. If I don't get my money back, I will call my bank for a chargeback.
