The man has a very calm way about him. Nothing felt forced. The report has opened doors at school that we'd been banging on for a while.

We had tried for about two years to get somewhere positive with her school. However, the assessment that we got was comprehensive and provided something tangible to present to the school. She made contact with her teacher within the week. This was not usual.

As a very sceptical and wary parent and someone who has become disillusioned with parts of the medical profession: I approached AuDHD Psychiatry with caution. What first drew me in was the transparency, with clear pricing on the website and the fact that Dr Darren O’Reilly is himself neurodivergent. That immediately signalled a level of understanding and authenticity that is often missing elsewhere.

However, it was our actual meeting with my adult daughter that confirmed we had chosen the right path. My daughter is already diagnosed as autistic, alongside several other conditions, and Darren was able to engage with her in a way that felt respectful, attuned, and genuinely collaborative. From the outset, he was honest about the assessment process, including the fact that not everyone will meet the strict criteria for a diagnosis. That level of integrity mattered to us.

The assessment itself was thorough without being overwhelming. Much of the groundwork had already been completed through the detailed forms provided in advance, which meant the appointment could focus on meaningful conversation rather than rushing through paperwork. We were given space and time to talk, to ask questions, and to pause whenever needed. At no point did we feel hurried or dismissed. Comfort breaks were offered naturally, and the whole process felt paced around my daughter’s needs rather than a rigid schedule.

Another aspect that has stood out consistently is the responsiveness of the entire team. Every time I have contacted the company, staff have been quick to reply, genuinely helpful, and couldn’t do enough to support us. Making appointments has been straightforward and stress‑free, which is something I don’t take for granted. The same has been true for renewing the monthly prescription; the titration appointments were detailed and careful, and the follow‑up process has been smooth and reassuring.

For the first time in a long time, I feel we are in the hands of people who truly understand neurodivergent individuals: not just clinically, but humanly. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr O’Reilly and the AuDHD Psychiatry team to other families seeking a thoughtful, ethical, and neuro-affirming assessment and treatment experience.

Brilliant appointment with Dr Darren O'Reilly, made me feel completely at ease and was very understanding. He was great at listening whilst also keeping the conversation relevant to the clinical process. Overall an incredibly smooth experience from the start, everything was communicated clearly via email up till the appointment date, with an additional courtesy reminder email the day before. At the end, after asking if I'd like to undertake treatment, he clearly outlined the next steps, ensuring I left feeling informed. I choose Audhdpsychiatry as I recognised traits of both in myself. They have a very useful pre -assesment option to discuss which pathway is best for you. I chose the ADHD pathway mainly due to significant cost difference and also the potential benefit of diagnosis with accessing support.

They are a friendly and knowledgeable team. The reason I have given 4 stars is because I found the assessment quite traumatic and on reflection I feel better preparation in advance would have avoided this. The assesment is a long discussion with the practitioner and they are understandably looking to see if you fit the ADHD criteria. The issue was that they require specific examples of how you are affected (as opposed to just confirming you ARE affected by the common traits). As an anxious person whose memory is poor even when comfortable, and who gets an absolutely BLANK mind when put on the spot, I was unable to think of specifics and therefore was not able to clearly demonstrate the difficulties I face. Luckily Dr O'Reilly could see my distress when told I wasn't fitting the criteria (I was devastated - I felt like I had it all wrong, I felt very confused and scared like I had been imagining everything I experience). He suggested I take a few days to observe myself and we met again.

When able to take time, I could see and document the difficulties and traits I was experiencing - I could then easily present them at our next call. Since then it's amazing how many traits I can see - because I am hyper aware right now to look for them, (I left my work pass at home due to a change of work location and I almost wanted to email Dr O'Reilly to tell him!)

They are fast, supportive and responsive. Just try to take some time and be ready for the assessment with specifics. I'm now hoping to start medication and see if it makes my life even just a little bit easier.

Im 51, I want you to sit with that for a second. Fifty one years of getting it wrong, being too much, too loud, too disorganised, too all over the place. I have lost jobs and relationships and I always thought it was just me. Tracy sat with me and I could tell quite quickly she wasn't just ticking boxes. The report came and I read it in one sitting and then I rang my mum, she's 74, and we talked for about an hour and we were both in bits. I don't really know what else to say. It's a lot to process.

I was apprehensive prior to my assessment, however Dr O'Reilly was person centred, knowledgeable and down to earth. I have never felt so understood.

Once you are a patient, you can easily access information about your care, book appointments etc all via a convenient patient portal. You are guided through the steps. All of which are clear and easy to follow, with phone and email support from the team if required.

The team at AuADHD Psychiatry genuinely care about the support that they deliver having lived experience of their own. Overall, a positive experience, and I would highly recommend.

I'm 39 and I've had a reasonably good life on paper, job, relationships, kept things together,but there has always been something I couldn't put my finger on. I've never really known how to explain it to anyone. I wasn't sure an assessment would help because I didn't feel like I had an obvious problem. Dr O'Reilly didn't treat it like that. He kept asking questions and going back to things I'd mentioned earlier and by the end I felt like he actually had a proper picture of me. The report was thorough. I cried reading parts of it, not because it was bad but because it just matched something I'd been carrying for a long time. I've passed the name on to a few people since.

I attended an assessment with Dr Darren this week. My initial anxiety was quickly put to rest. His approach was open and friendly which put me at ease almost immediately.
