Gentilezza ed efficienza al servizio del cliente

On 28.09.25. I booked and paid for a car with the company Autovia Palermo Airport through Booking.com. The car rental was supposed to start from 29.10.25. (11:30 a.m.) to 03.11.25. (11:30 a.m.) Flight No. FR 5276, which Autovia knew when I made the reservation through Booking.com. On 28.09.25. The flight was delayed for about 1/2 hour; Upon arrival in Palermo, I called the indicated Autovia Ph. and a transfer bus came to pick us up. Upon arrival at the Autovia office, which is far from the airport, we were told that it was impossible to give out the car because we had not warned about the delay. Understanding that the reservation had been paid for, we did not worry about the plane being late because this flight No. Autovia knew, so it could be tracked. Now the strangest thing started - the Autovia representative announced that Booking.com had already canceled my already paid reservation and today, that is 29.10.25. around 9.30 p.m. we can no longer receive the car, but can only receive it the next day!!! When asked what to do now, since it was already evening and we had to drive 30km to the hotel, the Autovia representative offered to "cancel the Booking.com" reservation as well as "cancel the Zurich full insurance policy that we had bought through Booking.com", instead offering to rent a car from Autovia "directly" for four times the rental fee as well as to buy insurance from Autovia, which would amount to 42,- EUR/day! A total of 252,- EUR! The Zurich company's full insurance fee for this rental period of 6 days was only 52.57 EUR! It was explained that Zurich insurance only covers cases if the culprit is found, if the car is scratched or damaged, and the culprit is unknown, Zurich does not cover it! We were confused by this information! Because I read that Zurich covers all expenses, invoices that Autovia would issue to compensate for damage, if any! Understanding that it is already evening and we are far from other car rental sellers and the airport, we agreed to cancel our car rental reservation from Booking.com as well as cancel the Zurich insurance! The Autovia representative called the Italian Booking.com representative, who asked what we wanted to do, should we cancel the reservation and insurance? I said that we wanted the car and leave Zurich in force! In the end, I realized that something was wrong with this service and I would not find out the truth that evening that I agreed to the cancellation, because after the conversation I realized that there was something wrong between these two companies with this car rental service, but what exactly I did not understand... I am a businessman and my inner voice told me that I would not sign a contract with this car rental service provider either tonight or tomorrow, as I was invited to come tomorrow. We called a taxi for 80,-EUR and got to the little one, the second day I took a taxi for 60,-EUR to Palermo airport and rented a car from AVIS, where everything went without a hitch! By the way, AVIS only requires a security deposit of 200,-eur, but AUTOVIA -700,-!!! That's my experience with Autovia! I would like to understand what is actually going on here between Autovia and Booking.com, but be careful. It's better to order a car from AUTOEUROPE.EU, it looks safer....

Auto gehuurd bij Autovia in Sicilië. Bij inlevering zag de controleur iets op een band en wou deze “schade” bij ons recupereren. Dit was totaal geen schade, laat staan dat die in ons beheer had plaatsgevonden, wij gingen dan ook niet akkoord. Desondanks heeft Autovia op een malafide manier ons 250€ afgezet via onze creditcard, zonder ons akkoord dus.

I was nervous about driving around PALERMO itself, nonetheless from the airport and then, eventually, back! I asked if it were possible to have a rental car delivered to my hotel. And it was! Thanks to Maria Luisa for helping me Immeasurably!

Ho avuto un’ottima esperienza con questa agenzia di autonoleggio. Fin dal ritiro della vettura il servizio è stato rapido, chiaro e senza complicazioni. L’auto era pulita e in perfette condizioni. Anche la riconsegna è stata semplice e veloce, senza alcun problema. Personale gentile, disponibile e professionale. Ho noleggiato e noleggio spesso anche con altre agenzie di autonoleggio, ma consiglio vivamente Autovia, sicuramente mi rivolgerò di nuovo a loro in futuro.

Excellent service, the staff were all very polite, eager to help and give recommendations, explaining all the options about cover etc. Handing back the car was quick and easy and they released the deposit straight away without any demands. Would recommend.
