Disappointing, slow service, rude staff

Came here for brunch on 19-10-2025
My friend and I came here and unfortunately didn’t get our first drink until 25 minutes into the 1 hour 30 slot we were given.
Not given the popcorn kernels which you are suppose to get on arrival. Even after asking for them. Had to ask 3 times and ended up coming with our food
A group of 3 girls came in 15 mins after us and received their drinks and food before we did.

Food was lovely, apart from one dish the beef rib that came out stone cold (should of been hot) it was replaced but disappointing when you unexpectedly eat cold food.

Weren’t given clean plates after having our starters. No dish for the soy sauce was given to us although other tables had them.

Ran out of the white wine we had and was offered another one and was poured into the same glass and wasn’t given a clean glass. When asked they said no it’s fine.

Service was disappointing so we asked our waiter Foysal to remove the service charge to which he stormed off then threw our new bill on the table. We paid and he stormed off again with no words spoken.

Day light robbery for a mediocre meal

1. I paid for 2 to test Tasting LIma and was served food for one!!
2. The food was mediocre. Quinoa dish was good. Sushi was ok.
3. From Tasting Lima menu, told them dont want the two meat items and the waiting staff suggested I could order 2 items from veggie section instead yet they served a chicken dish which I had to return. No apologies.
3.They missed one item to serve from the veggie section I ordered.
4. its a day light robbery that you asked for 2 X Tasting Lima but they served for one and charged for 2. After paying the bills I realised it was a rip off. Unbelievable.
5. will not recommend at all. Saw their FB add and lured into it. please dont fall for their FB promotions.

Worst experience we’ve ever had.

Worst experience we’ve ever had.

We asked for tap water and saw the waiter poor several left over jugs into one and bring it over. And this was only after we asked for it again having waited for ages for it.

We asked for the volume to go down as it was unbearable when we walked in and thankfully they did a little but it was still extremely loud.
A waitress came to take our order and complained she couldn’t hear us, really not our problem when we’re shouting and pointing on the menu, perhaps bring the volume down?

We booked a table confirming vegetarians and they saved us beef instead of mushroom Bao Buns making my friends ill after they bit in them.

Other items were incorrect, such as the nigiri platter where she repeated after me that I wanted the one with 5 variety of fish but still, they brought the other one.

The quality of the fish is average, not bad but really not exceptional (for the very little I tasted).
The staff was contradicting each other, some said the order had been lost? Then it was found.
This probably explains the deplorable food we received.

At that point we still had no drinks, some of the food wasn’t there, the music had gone back up and some of our friends were actually sick.
No staff came to apologise for feeding meat to vegetarians. This also concerns us with them most likely feeding allergens to customers who could have severe reactions if they pay this little attention.

We did specify we had a time limit, we appreciate this cannot always be accommodated and would have happily tailored our order if they had let us know they can’t have everything ready in the timeframe we have.

Considering they add a service charge automatically, this is no wonder that the service is so poor.

To add to this, the bathrooms aren’t clean, but if they don’t clean the water jugs, we can’t expect them to clean the toilets.

We ended up leaving and not eating there, the couple of bites we had already left enough of a bad taste in our mouths.

I wish I knew the name of the waitress who did try to help and was the only one who actually noticed that we still had nothing on the table as I would give her a thank you, the rest of the staff needs customer training at the very least.

Not worth it, go somewhere else

Save your money and time and eat somewhere else. There are plenty of better restaurants in London. Some of the staff are abrupt and verging on rude. The food and drinks take a long time. The food is not good. The restaurant is in a basement and is very small. Not worth it at all.

Rude and unprofessional staff including…

Rude and unprofessional staff including the manager.

Took 45mins before they even gave us a drink (which was bottomless brunch)… asked for prosessecco and got cocktail. 5 people at the stable only 3 got served. When raised they shrugged their shoulders and moved on. Waiter had the nerve to remove the cocktails from the table to then pour the Prosecco when we had already started drinking that. Food arrived but they were not able to explain the process properly. Very disorganised and haphazard. Def rude and unprofessional as didn’t take well to constructive feedback. Would not recommend. A lot to pay for a begrudging experience.

I would not recommend Ayllu

I would not recommend Ayllu, I booked for my friends birthday and I regret this. The service was awful with waiters not brining our drinks for over half an hour. We ordered starters and they messed up the order and the replacement didn’t arrive till we were eating our dinner which also had items missed. The portions were small and cold. Overall a awful experience

Loved Ayllu food and atmosphere

Loved Ayllu food and atmosphere! It's an amazing little find in Paddington and will definitely become my local. The sushi rolls we tried were delicious and so were the chicken bao buns - great for sharing. The samba dancers and DJ were a nice touch, really livened up what we expected to be a casual dinner.

Amazing Discovery!

Amazing Discovery!
My boyfriend took me on a date and he choose Ayllu (his turn :)) when I saw the menu I wanted to order everything.
In the end, we decided to go for one of the testing menus and a few other small checky plates I couldn't resist ordering.
We are definitely coming back and carefully going to go through their menu.
Really nice atmosphere, with live music! 10 out of 10

Discrimination

I can say I am very upset with my experience at Ayllu. Me and my friend paid £40 for bottomless brunch last Saturday the 19th of June and before I reached the first meal I was asked to leave the restaurant. I was discriminated against speaking another language on the phone to my mum who is not in the country. The waiter simply asked me and my friend to leave the restaurant because apparently to other customers we were being "too loud" whist speaking Portuguese on the phone, not considering that WE WERE ALSO CUSTOMERS. Not only I was discriminated against speaking other language on the phone, I was told to leave without not even a "can you please be respectful to other customers with the noise". Straight to "YOU NEED TO LEAVE". I paid £40 for a glass of Prosecco. The waiter was patronising and extremely unprofessional. Although the decor is nice, I didn't even have the time to enjoy the meal NOR the drinks. I would not recommend going to Ayllu to anybody. Didn't think a restaurant like this would discriminate and humiliate its customers the way they did. Thanks Ayllu for my greatest disappointment

Overpriced Food Extra Small Portions…

Overpriced Food Extra Small Portions Careless Staff
A very expensive and disappointing experience to an otherwise nice area and location. The portions where too small by far, smaller than starters, staff didn't care to provide any service and food was just ordinary nothing to get excited about. However for such an experience the price was extraordinarily high. If you want to destroy one of your evenings just book there. Disappointment guaranteed.
