Credit card supports Apple Pay but not Google Pay (?!) and offers no cashback after first year.
Buggy credit card application process (photo verification fails, doesn't let you repeat nor restart, must wait for apparent human intervention).
Unhelpful/Useless e-mail support (requests call, helps nothing).
Overcomplicated (requires documentation other banks don't).
Spams you with unsolicited e-mails, requires you call toll number to unsubscribe (!).
No real-time cashback information, must wait for monthly statement and hope for the best.

Update (03/27/2024): They clarified the lower cashback (allegedly didn't receive MCC codes from Curve, so it counted as wallet top-ups, which is excluded from cashback) and refunded the difference.

If your spouse dies
If your spouse dies, I hope you are never confronted with this bank.âšâšThey will do everything they can to antagonize you and even ask you to sent the last will. This is not allowed! A last will is a confidential document and this is a stated by European law. It should be enough to present a translation of a certificate of inheritance but the bank dont think so. They donât know the rules and laws.
âšEspecially the bank branch in Almancil Portugal is a burden. Claudio Ganho, the so-called branch manager, promises to do everything he can to help you, but ultimately does nothing at all to unblock your assets and the bank account. A very annoying man when you are in deep mourning. I have confronted him with my problems but he says that he is dependent and part of the system and he cannot do more for you.âšâš So take care doing business with this bank.
Horrible customer service
Bankinter ATM machine In Portugal just decided to eat my card (and 2 others while I was standing on the street talking to their customer service). Because my card was from another country, they told me that in order to get it back, I need to have my Finnish bank contact them and they will send it to my bank in Finland and then my bank could send it back to me. When I told my bank this, they advised me to close the card immediately and pointed out how dangerous it is to have bank cards to be sent all over the world and that Bankinter advice was absolutely not correct. I had to pay 60 euros for my bank to DHL me the new card since I needed it urgently and asked Bankinter to pay that. It's been 1,5 months and no reply from them. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Bankinter terrible service
Sold our apartment two years ago and advised Bankinter that we would like to close our account on completion of the sale which the branch manger agreed would not be a problem. Two years later Bankinter has still not closed our account after many many emails requested closure and a visit to the branch in October when we were assured the account would be closed. They do not answer emails they even tried to issue us with new credit cards.
I do not appreciate being spammed
I do not appreciate being spammed, and you are doing it in violation of the GDPR, using my personal data without consent.
A money making machine in fees and disappointment
The transition from Barclays to Bankinter did not bring any added value. Account managers only interest is to fulfil their KPIs by selling you products, and then forget about looking after your portfolio until you complain for expired deadlines and money loss. Then the excessive fees for all and anything. And to add to misery, there is the money transfers between accounts, which may take days like in the stone age (other banks make your transfer available in minutes to tother banks). All accounts, investment funds and deposits will be closed soon.

O processo de abertura de conta, que parece ser simplificado por ser via online, acaba por ser muito demoroso.
Já lá vai uma semana e contÃnuo sem ter um NIB.
Atenção: no dia de abertura de conta dirigi-me a um balcão e recomendaram-me fazer o processo online. Hoje dia 6 de Novembro entrei em contacto com o apoio ao cliente, ao que responderam que pode levar 15 dias a um mês para ter um NIB associado.
Caso precisem urgentemente de uma conta bancária, não recomendo de todo o Bankinter.
Amadorismo
Não se consegue uma resposta da parte deles, nem por email nem por telefone. Farto de mandar mensagens pelo homebanking e emails e não obtenho resposta, uma vergonha! Para resgatar um fundo querem-me obrigar a ir a um balcão. Vou-lhes fazer a vontade, vou ao balcão e aproveito para fechar a conta. Uma pena porque até estava a pensar usar esta conta como minha conta principal já que não pago comissões. Vá lá que me deram 5% de juros (até 5000 â¬) durante 1 ano.

Péssimo atendimento telefónico, parece que estamos a falar com empregados de um bar em vez de um banco... gestor de conta é fantochada, estou há 1 mês à espera de um pedido de cartão. HorrÃvel.
