Someone’s telling fibs

Emailed to chase my order, was told their warehouse staff need time to dispatch orders, so I said ‘okay so it hasn’t been dispatched yet?’

They then swear blind your item has been dispatched even though Royal Mail say it hasn’t entered their network yet. Then you tell them you really needed the item you ordered at the start of the week (Tuesday) for the weekend (like I genuinely do) and they tell you ‘We will rush the shipment for you’. How can they rush a shipment that’s already left them??

They then keep saying it’s just a delay in tracking information it’s Royal Mails fault, I should check it again in 2-3 days (on a 48 hour delivery service they used) I called Royal Mail and had a nice chat with a lady there. Gave her all the details and she confirmed the item hasn’t even entered their network yet.

It’s just a shame it lead to a negative review, just be honest, ‘no we haven’t dispatched it yet, we will be on it as soon as we can’ and we’d be happy

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - EXCELLENT REVIEWS ARE DEFINATELY FAKE

Horrifically poor 'Customer Support' - I ordered 6 radios, 4 of which have broken within a couple of months. I have been arguing with them now for weeks about repair as, even though they have an official UK website, they want me to send the 4 radios back to China for a warranty repair and have advised it will take 2 months minimum to get them back, have explained that this will not be acceptable as we cannot wait that long without them. They are trying to tell me that I therefore have to pay another £25 for 4 replacements, which although is reasonable, I shouldn't have to pay as in warranty. My argument is I used a UK website with a UK address listed at the bottom, so expected that any issues would be handled in the UK. Have suggested an outcome (if they are willing to give me 4 more for £25) of them sending out the 4 with a self addressed envelope for return and I will send them back the broken for, but they have refused this. They offered to transfer me £30 to have them repaired, I sent them the quotes from local repair shops showing minimum quote was £45 + VAT minimum, they wouldn't pay this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience. Your ordered 6 x BF-88E on Nov 09, 2021 and complained 4 of radios are defective on August 04, 2022, it measn you already used the radios without questions for 8 months. Hope you can understand that most electronic products will be damaged to varying degrees with the increase of use time.

As for the £45 partial refund, the total amount is only £59.99, sorry to tell you that it is hard to accept. Per our return policy, we are no problem to accept return for warranty (repair), we can provide the free repair.

The excellent reviews are fake

The excellent reviews are fake. This website takes your money and gives you a tracking number and then goes dark. The tracking number will say it's "being dispatched" but never is. Days go by, the tracking doesn't change. All emails / online chat to these people go unanswered. It's chargeback time. Do not trust the reviews that say they're super excellent and fast shipping (lol , try no shipping)

Update: Since posting this, they have emailed me every day offering me discounts, programming cable , refunds etc if I change this review to a 5 star one. So their 5 star reviews might be bribes, be aware.

Think carefully before you buy - read the reviews......

My experience with this company is a study in how not to provide a great customer experience. I recommend anyone consider their options before purchasing. Caveat emptor.

I ordered a radio, additional antennae and carry case; I have other Baofeng radios bought from Amazon and have been very happy so ordering from the “official” distributor caused no concern.

Issue 1 – the discount code provided on signing for the website did not work; I flagged this and was told that a discount could be provided retrospectively instead. But only once I had received my order? I have not been provided with the discount / refund although have had the order for 2 weeks.

Issue 2 – I was contacted to advise the carry case / pouch was not available and could be refunded. This was agreed but I have not received the refund. On raising this numerous times I have been brushed aside – the last communication sarcastically advising that “the refund has been made and you should check your account manager if you don’t believe it”. I mean – for god’s sake – how would I know I did not have the refund if I hadn’t checked my account?

Issue 3 – The majority of the web page for the product I bought was taken up with two pictures describing a USB direct charger (rather than the regular cradle) – this is the sole reason I purchased this device. The problem is that the device does not come with a USB charger, and it took about ten emails over the course a week to discover this was the case. (admittedly it does not list the charger lead on the website box contents small print but then why make such a show of advertising it?) I feel totally misled by the advert but was advised “sorry you made the mistake”. I’m not sure what one is supposed to expect given the advertising images – worse still you cannot actually buy a charger to suit from the company’s website!!!

Issue 4 – the additional antennae does not fit the radio – it’s useless - so given the constant problems I chose to return the whole order and get a refund. (Bear in mind I have still not received the refund from the pouch either!!)

It took multiple requests to get a returns number and returns address despite the website claiming any order could be sent back for any reason within 30 days without question.

I was offered a further refund to keep the radio which I have refused. However, concerned that I will never get any sort of refund once returned I thought better of it and that perhaps I could keep it and move on – at which point I have discovered that it does not work on VHF. Having run side by side comparisons with my other similar Baofeng radio, scanner and other multiband radios, and even swapped antennas as a control exercise it does not receive on the band.
I have been left with little choice but to send it back and hope that I might see some money back. (Some day?)

In summary – so far, I have paid in full, received an antennae that doesn’t fit, received a potentially defective radio, not received a carry case but also not received the refund either, nor the original 10% discount. I now must send back at my own expense and hope for a refund, which, given current form, is likely never to happen.

I doubt this will get me the "free gift" offered in the email that I have received, requesting I provide a review, but then why would I need another cable or mic which comes with the original order anyway?
And to be fair I will not be ordering from them again, so I am unlikely to meet the spend criteria!

n.b: Like other reviewers I have Googled the address only to discover it appears to be the flat above a chip shop in a very dilapidated building - hardly the "Baofeng Official" premises I would have expected. It seems I have been had!

Be warned - caveat emptor

1. Hope you can understand that we did indicate the package details on our advertisement, it would come with 1 x USB programming cable, not charger cable, we just would like to show the radio can be charged by USB charger cable.
2. The refund of pouch, we did refund to you, we also sent the proof of refund to you, would you pls check your account again? Thanks.
3. You said the promo code is unable to work, but most of our customers can use the promo code to place an order, it is hard to confirm the problem is on our promo code, so we suggested to refund the price difference, we would refund to you after you receive the parcel. But you asked for return, there is not chance for us to refund the price difference.
4. Actually you didn't contact us to complain the problem of the antenna. You contacted us to complain the package does not include USB charger cable. For this issue, we explained with you, but it seems is unacceptable for you, so we accepted return for refund, and we already provide the return details to you. May we know whether you return the items back to us? Would you pls provide us the tracking information of your return via email? We will refund to you without delay after we receive your return.

I then googled the address in Portsmouth to find it looking like a abandoned building. I think I have been scammed here 😢🙊

I have purchased 6 radio sets for a charity event that is running on the bank holiday weekend coming up.
After purchasing i saw that for about 4 days no shipment had been sent at all, this started my worrying more.
So i contacted the shop customer support and was told that they were being sent out crom there UK warehouse in Southsea in Portsmouth, a city i know very well.
I was guaranteed that the would arrive between 3 and 7 days , i ordered them on the 7th august in plenty of time to have them delivered for the event.
It is now the 16th August and still no sign of my order, Royal Mail keep saying that they have not been given them by the company and the shipping tracking number says that the company have not given them to Royal Mail yet.
So another customer support email sent and another came back saying they will be shipped and now i dont expect to receive them in time.
If you google the company address in Portsmouth you will find that it is a fish and chip shop with accomodation above....so defenitely not a warehouse....this seems to be what they call dropshipping ........you buy from a uk shop/ website but actually it is being sent from somewhere like China and they do not have actual stock in the UK.
All they keep saying is give us more time only another couple of days the fact is now that i probably will not get the radios in time for my charity event so will have more stress trying to find others and at another cost which these days i really cant afford to do but doubt my money i paid being back in my bank in time.
I hope tgat the company see this and respond as if i get the radios ect in time then i would change this and update this review but like the radios i dont think that will happen in time for my event.
I look forward to hearing from the company and if i was anyone watching this would think twice before purchasing anything unless you have about 2 months time to vive them before you actually receive the product.

Well i have had a reply from the company as you can see and again they have asked me to wait another 2 days which will be the 19th, this i have agreed to but my only worry now is tgat is this friday if they do not arrive then i wont be able to contact the company until the 22nd on monday and i need them for the 24th so really lookks like the charity event will now not have radios to be used , i will let you know what happens now if i get them on time i will change this review to say that has been done .
