It's easy to give five stars when things go perfectly. This time, Barista Underground EARNED five stars when things didn't go quite right.
I order from B.U. regularly. This time, I ordered two cases of Torani syrup. They arrived very quickly, which is my usual experience. But this time, one of the cases had damage during shipment and about seven of the bottles were either leaking or were sticky and disgusting from the leakage.
Customer service was great and even went above and beyond. Not only did they replace the damaged bottles, they sent me an entire case (12 bottles) as a replacement. I received it the next day!
I really appreciate that they cared and that they went above and beyond. Barista Underground has definitely earned my recurring business. Highly recommend.

They up their prices too much.. An 1883 syrup bottle for $22 when I used to get it for 9 at Serious Sips. Way too expensive.
Everything was exactly as expected and delivered on time.
I just received my first order from Barista Underground, and Iâm really happy with it. In my case, everything went smoothly, and I had no issues at all. I get the feeling that the lower rating might be because people are more likely to leave a review when something goes wrong, rather than when theyâre satisfied. Just wanted to share a positive experience to help balance things out!
Awful Service and misleading customer support
I placed an order on May 7, and the company charged my credit card, but the website still shows the order "Unfulfilled" despite filling out a customer service form, and exchanging 4 emails with Adie Antonio, a customer service representative, who emailed me "i'm sorry for the delay but I have already prioritize your order and have them shipped out the products within the day." the website still shows the order "Unfulfilled."

Our coffee shop has been a customer for nearly a year. Orders take way too long to ship, something isnât right. Will be taking business elsewhere if this doesnât improve. Sometimes they donât ship for five days after they get your order? This makes no sense. They must not have the stock to ship. Not good.

I have ordered twice from barista underground and each time has been a headache. For whatever reason they will send an order broken up into multiple shipments no matter how small it is. I received the first half in 2 days and the second half hasnât even gotten a shipping label made for it. Fortunately, I havenât received anything broken, wrong, or expired like some people in these reviews (which is the bare minimum from a company imo) but they have the worst customer service ever. They have the most generic and pitiful response to any questions or complaints âIt will be shipped here soon!â GIVE. ME. A. DATE. because their definition of âsoonâ is a JOKE. I cannot believe companies recommend them as their authorized retailer in my area (like torani and monin do) if I were them I would separate completely from this website. The prices are good but I will be spending the extra $5 on amazon or whatever because it will be worth getting my shipments in 2 days and not 2 weeks.

Long time user of Barista Underground. 24 quarts of Oatly Barista every two weeks. Like clockwork. Iâm not doubting the problems of other reviewers, but Iâve had no issues at all with BUâs service for a few years. Great service!

I just received my first order from Barista Underground and I'm happy with the order. I didn't look at these reviews before hand, and I'm kind of glad I didn't, not sure why they're only 2.5 on here but I'm assuming it's because only unhappy people write reviews, most of the time.
I'm just a home coffee enthusiast that wanted to order a case of syrups without paying amazon pricing. The price was fantastic, the price to ship was a little high but for the size of the box, I get it. I doubt they make any money on shipping with how much FedEx charges.
The product came incredibly well packaged and protected (six glass bottles) and everything was intact. The order was correct and I couldn't be happier. 10/10 and we will definitely order from here again.
The product in my entire last order hadâŠ
The product in my entire last order had expired in August 2024. As a coffee shop I cant use this product if it is expired. If you cant trust a company to send product that hasnt expired than you shouldnt do business with them. No phone number to call for support and just a form response that says they will circle around back to me. I thought I was dealing with a professional company with good quality control but apparently not :(

The company did end up refunded the order and also sent new product of a different brand at no cost. We are happy with the outcome.

My reasons:
1. Tedious website
2. No Telephone Customer Service Contact vector, only email, with it's inherent lack of urgency and back-and-forth, slow pace.
3. Inaccurate website/product descriptions, ultimately leading to disappointment and frustration at the time of receipt.
Takes forever before it ships
Prices are acceptable, but it takes them forever to actually ship the item. A week just to creat a label and then another 3-4 days to receive it.
I used to receive my deliveries within 2-3 days from them.
This company has definitely changed.

When this company first started its marketing efforts to the West Coast, primarily in SF, they were amazing. They (Odeko) were very responsive, handled issues immediately and they were my go-to. I am not sure what has happened in the last year or so, but they have been on a decline.
I recently placed an order for a product which I have on the menu at my four cafes and I received the wrong product - different flavor tea. I messaged customer service, they apologized and said they were sending the correct product, even confirmed the name. Today, I received the same wrong product and of course, there is no phone number to call. All of the phone numbers I had for the people I was getting support from initially were all disconnected.
Lastly, I get a response from an agent that tells me the manufacturer changed the names of the products and it is the same thing. C'mon, at least check into it before you come to me with an excuse. The ingredients and taste are completely different. And going on here, it seems that this experience is not an isolated one.
I am disappointed in Odeko and Barista Underground to say the least. I really hyped up this company to all of my networks when I started using them and if they don't get organized and revisit their mission statement, this is going to impact them in the long run.
