Long standing customer, Bought a bass one night and payed PP for it, 9am next morning I had a refund for the amount no covering letter no apology, nada. About a hour later the same bass was up again for £250 more than the price I tried to paid. Still waiting for the reason.

Cannot reccomend Bass Direct enough. Was helping my Dad look for some Aguilar gear and had been looking at it for a while when we came across Bass Direct. We contacted Mark via e-mail and he got straight back to us. Super speedy coms! He was super helpful at sorting out a price and delivery for us on equipment which is pretty hard to find in the UK!

I pre ordered a Yamaha Peter Hook signature bass, first time I've ordered from bass direct. I had a truly great experience, I was told by Mark they would arrive the following week and true to his word sent out and delivered the next day and what a great bass it is. Thank you for a great service and guitar. I will be back
Contacted bass direct via email to make an offer on second hand equipment. The offer was accepted and I was advised to contact the shop to pay.
When I did I was advised that I could not have the goods in question for the agreed price but I could pay their listed price. As an alternative I was offered an inferior cabinet for the price, which I could have had much cheaper elsewhere.
Not a good way to do business- best avoided

I bought a couple of high-end basses from Bass Direct from USA. I had excellent timely replies from Mark for my questions and his answers made me feel comfortable buying from a foreign country. They have the best pricing too which you can't find anywhere else. But for them I couldn't have got those beautiful basses. -Jasper
Bought 4 basses over the years from then, sometimes itâs an ok experience, more often than it isnât.
Ordered some accessories from the website (in stock, otherwise they mark out of stock). Waited 6 days, no sign despite paying £8 for the postage. Emailed to ask when they would be sent only to be told they were out of stock.
1. Why didnât they tell me immediately?
2. Why werenât they labelled out of stock
3. Why didnât the tell me at all, until I asked?
4. No explanation/indication of when they would be in stock.
Could be a great shop, but it depends on what mood they are in.
The owner seems to be a very moody person and will only bother to make conversation if he knows you are buying. Otherwise, donât expect any help or smile from him. Same applies to his sidekick. Two words, donât bother!
Uncomfortable atmosphere in this deathly-silent "shop" (which is on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere). Poor and uninterested customer service, e.g. no greeting, no "how can I help you?", etc. The two members of staff in the shop (I believe one was the owner) are fairly odd fellows, but come on, these are basic customer interactions! Also noticed that some prices were not the same as advertised on the website; at best this is careless, at worst it's a brazen attempt to make a few extra £s. Overall I was not made to feel at all welcome at Bass Direct. Decided to take my business elsewhere and won't be going back.

This guy is not customer friendly. He made me feel awkward and uncomfortable when I arrived at the shop. Now you might think Iâm some sensitive bloke, Iâm a CEO of a multi-national and I have better things to do than write these type of comments and feedback.
He started by saying âif you like that sort of thingâ referring to the bass I was selling, which I brushed off. but he then went on to say that my Jaydee Series One was no good in live situations and I would not get any session work rocking up with it. He then mentioned that heâs owned a few Jaydees over the years??
I received no comments or emails. It was only after I noticed that the bass had been removed from the website and I enquired, that it was confirmed that the bass was sold. I then had to chase up payment into my account.
I have now been paid and so you could say that they sold my bass, so job done. This is true, but there was something about this transaction that leaves me puzzled and confused.
I live approx 50 miles from Warwick but even if I was in the area I would never drop into Bass Direct.
I can't praise Bass Direct highly enough for the superb service that Mark & his team have always given me.
Nothing is too much trouble, Service is second to none and their stock of quality basses is huge!
Thoroughly nice chaps, superb stock, unhurried service and always enthusiastic and helpful!

I've bought a custom bass and an amplifier from BassDirect. Each time I've ordered from them I've found them to be fair and very knowledgeable. Given the money I spent, I expected nothing less! In fact, the first time I bought from them, I travelled down to collect the bass and the owner made me feel very welcome by making me a coffee and driving me back to the train station (after giving me a tour of Warwick!). I highly recommend this company.

I've had three somewhat dodgy experiences of Bass Direct now. Inaccurate details on products, and damage or wear not fully disclosed on secondhand stock that I've paid for. Different answers from different staff members and static that gets in the way of finding the product you want.
Whilst customer service/ support hasn't been the worst I've come across, it's certainly not been the best either. I've found the boss/ owner tends towards being defensive to anything that questions the product performance of the item you've just bought from them, rather than accommodating. Instead of 'no problem, if you don't like it we'll get you what you want' you get a dozen reasons why your opinion is wrong.
I've spent money there on gear that wasn't cheap, but I've decided it's easier to shop elsewhere rather than put up with the aggro of having to climb over a personality wall to get anywhere with them or deal with the manager's 'I know better than you' attitude (some customers take this as "expertise". Others as unnecessary arrogance).
At the end of the day they're shopkeepers, and so their function is to buy stuff in at a lower price and sell it to you at a higher price. In buying at that higher price you, the customer, pay their wages. The least they could do is remember this fact and cut out the cr*ppy attitude towards the people who keep them in business.
