Got in touch with Dave at Beam Calc as I needed a quick turnaround for some calculations for a kitchen renovation I am doing. I have to say that Dave was the most helpful person who not only produced the calculations quickly and at a reasonable price but discussed some of the issues I was facing and reassured that the beam I was using was satisfactory for the project. From initial enquiry to completed calculations, the service was exceptionally fast, professional and straightforward. The structural calculations were turned around remarkably quickly and were clearly presented and suitable for Building Control submission.

What particularly impressed me was the value for money. I obtained alternative quotations from other providers which were significantly higher, yet David delivered the required calculations at less than half the cost of some competing quotes, without any compromise in quality, professionalism or responsiveness, despite clearly having a very busy workload and many projects on the go.

Communication throughout was excellent. David took the time to understand the project, answer questions and explain the structural considerations involved. The calculations covered the beam design, padstones and associated structural requirements for the project, and he was happy to provide guidance regarding Building Control queries.

At times S.E's can be a law unto themselves, as the work they do is so critical to each project. I asked David to help with calculating two beams to hold up the house, a cantilever beam for the bi-folds and a wooden trimmer beam to hold up part of the flat roof extension. Cost wise whilst he wasn't the cheapest but after chatting with him I was given the confidence that he would be worth the extra 150 or so pounds, and I was proved right. He was responsive to emails, and phone calls, and provided a swift turnaround to help the project not to stall. The calculations passed building regs and the beams are now in place and these were passed by the inspector too. Very please and would recommend.

Well what a easy and great service David was unbelievable helpful with absolutely everything responded fast and effectively and was there for any question went above and beyond absolutely recommended brilliant service.

Fantastic service from Beam Calc to provide us with drawings for a steel reinforcement beam.
It was an urgent job, and the drawings were provided very quickly, and at a good price.

Dave even provided a site visit at no extra charge as we were local to him. Building control signed off with no issues, and the builder was able to implement the recommendations with no problems.

Would highly recommend, and will be using again when it comes to doing our extension.

We were looking to do a loft conversion but worried about the load on the existing beams added in by the previous owners. I contacted David and he reviewed the details we had via email and gave us some advice. He was very helpful and responsive in his replies. Whilst we didn't use his full services in the end, if his communication and customer service is anything to go by, I would recommend him indeed.
