Things go wrong, I appreciate that. But when the customer service wants you to do their work for them and rectify THEIR mistake, I take exception. I cannot wait to change.

terrible. allowing me to be blamed for someone hitting me. using my young age against me. don't do any work to look into what happened gave them evidence multiple times don't.provide any information only interested in money

Had a very disappointing experience with Bell. I was recently involved in a hit and run incident have not been impressed with their response.
Bell have arranged for my car to be picked up by one of their garages in Glasgow, however this garage can only give me a window of between 8am and 5pm to pick up my car. I explained several times that I’m a teacher, my partners a teachers and that my mum is just out of hospital and that we have nobody else that can take a day off. They refuse to accept this and give me assurances they will contact the garage yet never do. The last time they phoned a Canadian from their Canadian office actually said she had never heard of a job you can’t take a day off from. Well unfortunately you can’t if you teach in Scotland. Shocking service.
Additionally, I have requested to hear from a personal injury lawyer which they said they would pass on and never have. I have phoned them 4 days in a row and each time I am assured something will be done about this and it never is.

Good experience with them for a written off car.
crap insurance company, its been over 3 months since I’ve had my accident and when I try to call and follow up on my payout they leave me on hold 20+ mins, transfer me to so many different departments, make me go through all my security questions again and again just to tell me the case has not been resolved. Absolutely useless.

Don't use this insurance company. I've worked in Financial Services for 30 years and they have no respective or consideration for their customers. I took out an insurance policy for my son who had recently passed his test. The black box didn't work and had to chase up for feedback. When we got feedback it was never accurate. They then informed me they were cancelling the policy and if I wanted to cancel I could but would be charged £110 fee. Since changing providers to a different insurance company with a black box my son is scoring 95% + therefore this company is a scam and don't be attracted by the lower initial cost.
Absolutely appalling customer service – bots on the phone, unable to speak to a human, website login broken.
Second year in a row where bell has offered me automatic renewal and both times, the prices have been well well below the other offers I had on compare the market. My front/side window was smashed by a stray pebble on the motorway and I was understandably stressed but bell made replacing it so easy. Honestly can’t fault them.
This is the worst insurance company. Everyone disrespectful and no help. They're trying to tell me they wont cover my car damage (caught on fire to coals) because I got into an accident before the fire, so due to the accident causing fire, 4000 dollar vehicle, 1500 in parts, 1000 or more of items in car, not covered, if your thinking about this insurance change your mind real quick, they might try to screw you over too😉
Unreliable and Unprofessional
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Bell Car Insurance, and I would strongly advise against using their services. After my car was involved in an accident, they wrote off my vehicle without even bothering to conduct a proper inspection. It was clear they were trying to minimize their payout rather than provide fair treatment.
When I tried to contact them for clarification or assistance, their customer service was virtually non-existent. I was met with delay tactics and a complete lack of transparency. No genuine offers of help or support were provided, making the entire process unnecessarily stressful and frustrating.
If you're considering Bell Car Insurance, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. This company seems more focused on avoiding responsibilities than actually helping their customers in times of need. Avoid them at all costs!
Baffeling price increase - I have insured my car with my son as a named driver for the past 12 months with Bell(end) Insurance- renewal time came around and my son is no longer a student but employed and I have moved house, so have updated those details with Bell(end). Car obviously worth a lot less than it was 12 months ago and my son has now got over a full years experience driving oh and my move from a town to a village. Taking all this into account Bell(end) decide that my premiums need to go up by over 100% double!! W.T.F!!
I still don't understand with car insurance as your car is worth less you get charged more?? are they planning on paying me over and above my cars value if its a write off -- Don't think so
So for taking less risk they charge more great business model.
So so so glad I do not work in this industry it is a legal obligation we all have to follow and we get our wallets raped every time for complying

Dear Bell Insurance,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the handling of my car insurance policy, which I took out with your company in June. This complaint relates specifically to the Plug and Drive device that was supposed to be included with my policy, and the subsequent issues I have faced as a result of Bell’s negligence and lack of communication.
Upon taking out my policy, I was informed that I would receive a Plug and Drive device, which was to be installed within two weeks to qualify for the associated discount. However, I never received this device. I immediately contacted Bell within the two-week installation period to query the status of the device, but I did not receive any response from your team.
After the two-week deadline passed, I was informed that, due to the device not being installed, I had lost the discount on my policy. As a result, I was forced to pay an additional £700 for my car insurance. This is entirely unacceptable, particularly given that I did everything within my power to notify Bell of the missing device in a timely manner.
Since then, I have raised two formal complaints with your company, neither of which has received a response. I have also called customer service multiple times, only to be told that there was nothing they could do to assist me. On one occasion, your team even hung up on me, which is utterly unprofessional.
To make matters worse, I have now received an additional £50 charge for failing to return the Plug and Drive device, which I never received in the first place! This is beyond comprehension and shows a shocking level of mismanagement.
I consider Bell's actions to be nothing short of fraudulent. You have failed in your obligations to deliver the service I paid for, and instead, I have been subjected to additional charges and non-existent customer service. I am escalating this matter to the Financial Conduct Authority and will not hesitate to pursue further legal action if necessary.
I expect an immediate resolution to this matter. The £700 charge must be refunded in full, and the wrongful charge for not returning the Plug and Drive device must be removed. I also demand a formal written apology and an explanation of how Bell intends to rectify these serious issues and improve its handling of customer complaints moving forward.
This has to be the worst experience of taking out a car insurance policy (P74654511) I’ve ever had on 22Aug2024! Do not waste your time with this company. Online you deal with first bots then txt messaging with 20 others with a single agent. It took over an 2hr of back and forth to complete the application and agree to have a device fitted to the car even though I’ve 19 years NCD?? I paid the premium in full that day. The next day my own insurance company bettered Bells quote with no device fitting. I tried to cancel the Bell policy on line that day 23 Aug2024 and finally after another 2hr on line on 24 Aug got them to finally agree to cancel policy which wasn’t due to start until 5Sep2024. They wanted to make 2 deductions total £85 for sending device and administration. I said they hadn’t had time to send out device but had to agree to pay £25 administration fee. I was unformed it would take 10days to reach my account. I phone up today 6Sep2024 as to why the refund £661.41 is not in my account? I was told that the agent should have told it should be refunded 10 days after the renewal date of 5Sep2024???? It takes a few hrs for them to take my money and 3/4 weeks to return it! Time wasters ! Finally they said today I could have paid another £60 to have it repaid before renewal date?????!
Bell sent a renewal increasing my motor isurance from £656 to £860. A massive 31% increase. No claims no change of details. Funny I managed to renew at £539 with a £250 increase on excess. My advice stay away from Bell or Rip Off as I call them
Have been a client since 1999,very very unusual in this business but they were good , that said . The past few years the insurance premiums have risen and then last year doubled , still in line with comparison sites as premiums raised across the board . I did contemplate leaving a few years ago after bad customer service ( basically told I should just leave and get a better deal with another company ) , but they partnered with a Canadian call centre group and when I called back to leave the Canadian Customer service was excellent,and I ended up renewing with Bell.
Imagine now my surprise when again this years quote doubled again and was absolutely miles beyond the comparison sites .
Called the retentions team (Cardiff) , nice chap, best they can do was a few pounds off as the algorithm sets the price ...suggested I should call partners at admiral or another insurance company ...done. Ps they (Bell) don't partner with the Canadians anymore, so customer service is basically back to taken it or leave it mentality .
Contacted Admiral ( Parent/partner company of Bell) quotes 1/2 the price and comparable with the comparison sites . Wth is going on Bell ?. Are you pricing loyal customers out?. Perhaps you're getting out the insurance business or wanting it all under the Admiral umbrella.
Pricing customers out and giving exorbitant quotes, blame it on the algorithm, that will do it .
I presume Admiral uses a similar algorithmic programme , if not the very same you use .
Loyalty is appears is only a one way street.
Now an Ex customer penalised for high NCB and loyalty .
FRAUDULENT. I'm no longer with Bell, and haven't been for the past 2 week yet they are STILL taking money out of my account. DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE.
Terrible. Received an email out of the blue saying they were cancelling our daughter's insurance in 7 days due to a named driver driving it for more than 5% of her driving. Spent 5 days trying to get answers as they couldn't tell us whether this was measured in miles or time, wouldn't put us through to complaints or telematics and said there was a 72hr wait to speak to customer services.... By which time they will have cancelled our insurance!....
Poor Customer Service
I tried to arrange insurance for my son's car and got an excellent quote. For some reason they needed to know what course at University he was studying and Geography wasn't listed - not exactly an unusual subject. As a result had to call them and was told that "other" was OK but that it wasn't compulsory to answer - which it was.
Having now called I had to carry on with the quote on the phone not on line so spent a frustrating hour answering questions and listening to T&C's that I'd already done online.
The box needs to be installed within 15 days or 14 depending on whether you speak to someone or read the website. We are going on holiday in 10 days so may not be able to plug it in so politely asked if we could wait until we got back to plug it in or they could make sure it was dispatched early - neither of which are unreasonable options in a company that wants to deliver a decent customer service. After being put on hold twice I was told that wasn't possible and then got a long explanation about if it wasn't fitted it would result in the policy being cancelled. We aren't even taking that car on holiday so it will stuck on the drive!!
As per my title if you want a high quality service probably pay more - but if you want cheapest then Bell are probably Ok.
