My granddaughter loved her coach and learned so much from her and, in the beginning, we saw really nice improvement. She learned lots of strategies to get started with her homework and school projects; since she was a procrastinator, this was extremely valuable. Along with the other Executive Function strategies, she was doing her homework in a timely fashion and managing her time much better. Then Covid came, school fell apart because vitual learning happened so poorly and she stopped applying what she learned.

The coach always stayed connected with us by sending information on what they had worked on and what was expected from my granddaughter. She also texted my granddaughter weekly to check that she was following through. We really couldn't ask for more.

My daughter’s coach has mad such a difference in her confidence and her ability to organize herself. We have seen positive results and tangible growth. Thank you!!

Working with Michael at Beyond BookSmart was one of the most formative experiences during my time as a high school student from 2009 to 2011. His attention to detail and ability to deconstruct seemingly overwhelming tasks into easily executable smaller chunks taught me so much about how to manage my time and also how to take on bigger projects. I came in as an extremely skeptical struggling student and left Beyond BookSmart feeling like I had all the tools needed to handle whatever was thrown at me in college and also out in the real world. The executive function coaching that both our sons received from Beyond BookSmart literally changed their lives for the better. Not only did the coaching help them navigate academic and organizational challenges during their middle/high school years, it supported them in college and helped to develop skill sets for the working world and in life overall! We can't say enough about the team and the caring approach that benefited our sons. The investment in executive function coaching with BBS was invaluable. Years later, we still see it paying off, and the team is still just a phone call away if we ever need it.

Beyond Booksmart has helped my child realize their goals and dreams, make a plan to get there and achieve some of those goals. It has taken some time for them to learn the skills, but we are continuing this valuable enrichment because we are seeing much improvement in their executive functioning skills. They have helped them through the process of finding employment and making a plan to eventually live independently.

Our YA child has been working with a wonderful coach for several years. They have established a valuable, trusting relationship, that has really helped our child articulate and face numerous challenges. As a parent, I have appreciated the candor and clarity of the subsequent reports. Often they have provided me with an opportunity to explore certain questions with my child in a way that is direct but not adversarial.

After exploring multiple avenues to get our high-schooler the support she needed, we came across Beyond BookSmart and dared to hope they might succeed where others had failed. Their structured approach, combined with phenomenal coaches (shout-out to Courtney), transformed a very challenging situation into a life-changing success story!

The effectiveness depends on who the coach is, rather than the BBS system per se.
BBS does have a pre-match process, but it is not possible for prospective clients to get a good feel for the competence of the coach.
We got a coach for my son the summer before going to college and he had the same coach through the first half of the Fall Semester - there was no discernible improvement and the session reports by the coach were generic (even though our son had signed for us to have access to it), making it difficult to figure out what's not working. I will give this coach a ZERO STAR.
Then he got a new coach (this time we knew how to evaluate better), and within a few sessions, the difference was like night & day. In addition, the change continues to improve. This 2nd coach deserves FIVE STARS.

The difference in my son’s academic performance, measured before and after his introduction to a very special instructor from Beyond Booksmart, is palpable, worth every minute, and worth every penny. Our son went from experiencing internal noise, lack of focus, and getting poor grades to earning great grades and receiving high honors on
his report cards. Having Beyond Booksmart on our team made a tremendous difference.

Beyond BookSmart made a major impact on my son's trajectory in school and beyond. It wasn't just the grades (which improved significantly), the real game changer was the development of a proven framework with tools he could apply inside and outside the classroom to successfully manage his time, hit deadlines/complete tasks, and gain confidence in himself. It also made me realize that, despite best intentions, the approach I took to "help" my son was actually causing him more stress and hurting our relationship. I'm proud of my son for what he has achieved and I am thankful and appreciative we found Beyond BookSmart to help him realize his potential.

Beyond BookSmart is the consummate professional organization and number one resource I turn to for executive functioning coaching for my students. I serve high school students with various learning differences--most with diagnosis of NLD, ASD, and IDD--who are seeking postsecondary education. ALL of these students could benefit from BB's fabulous one-on-one EF coaching; and those students of mine who have signed up with BB have shown remarkable improvements in such EF skills as: time management; task initiation; flexible thinking; and emotion regulation.
