Budget Movers has rebranded to Service Pro Movers ( spmovers ) Terrible experience and multiple damages
We have receipt from Service Pro Movers and Photo evidence of all the damages they created (Trustpilot should allow users to upload photos). Buyer beware: Budget Movers has rebranded to Service Pro Movers ( spmovers ), but the quality has plummeted from a 5-star service to a 0-star nightmare. We paid them over $1,400 for another move on move on Friday, May 22, and they ended up damaging property again due to pure laziness, incompetence and negligence. If you want movers who are negligent, lazy, highly unprofessional, inexperienced, and incompetent enough to damage your belongings while overcharging you, Service Pro Movers ( spmovers.com ), will do exactly that.
The movers damaged multiple items, including:
A raisable desktop table; A chair; and, based on the negligent way they stacked and crammed items on top of each other without proper plastic wrap or protection, the list of damages is much longer.
These were not minor cosmetic scratches. As shown in the photos, one of the wheels on the raisable desktop table is now completely missing. There is also clear photographic evidence showing that the desk had all of its wheels before being loaded onto the truck. However, once the movers crammed it together with other items inside the truck, the desktop table was damaged.
The handling of the items showed clear negligence and lack of care throughout the entire move. They did not even send the larger truck that was specifically requested to Erik and others, which caused significant delays, extra unnecessary work and forced the majority of the items to be stacked tightly on top of each other, resulting in additional damages and higher fees.
The move started at approximately 9:00 a.m. and should have taken around 5 to 6 hours max. Instead, they stretched the move to almost 10 hours and charged over $1,400, while also damaging multiple items in the process.
I even had to help with the move myself; otherwise, they would have extended the job for even more hours by continuing to work in the most inefficient way possible.
Additionally, we paid for two professional movers, but instead they sent one adult and one teenager who is highly inexperienced, extremely inefficient, and very lazy. As shown in the photos, the teenager spent much of the time standing around watching the other mover work instead of actively helping. On top of that, he was smoking who knows what during the move and was more interested in the smoking and looking at his coworker doing majority of the work and in wasting time than doing the job efficiently.
Most of the actual work was performed by the adult mover while the teenager mostly stood by and watched as shown on the photo. Even after the manager supposedly spoke with him about the issue, nothing changed. The same delays, unprofessional and highly inefficient work, and lazy performance continued for the rest of the move.
To make matters worse, the minimal compensation offered afterward did not come close to covering the damages, delays, or the loss in value and usability of the damaged items.
Photos and videos clearly document the condition of the items after the move.
Consumers deserve movers who handle personal property responsibly and professionally. Unfortunately, based on my experience, this company delivered the complete opposite: negligent, careless, lazy, and incompetent movers who damaged multiple items while dramatically overcharging for the job.
Budget Movers, now operating as Service Pro Movers ( spmovers.com ), will guarantee to do a terrible and expensive job on top of the damages created.
