We were renovating my mum's house and needed a set of bifolds and a roof lantern. Bifold Shop were very helpful with the quotation and purchase process. Installation was on time and fuss-free.
A very professional job all round and would highly recommend.

Great company

We used the Bifold shop for bifold door and a large window installation on our refurbishment, and then again separately for our front door.

I only have good things to say about all 3 installations.
The showroom and sales staff are great, as are the guys that come out and do the installation. Very polite, friendly and professional.

Great products, competitively priced and installed to a high standard, with excellent communication throughout the entire process, including brilliant after care.

If you are on the fence and wondering who to go with, I would just say don't overthink it and give the Bifold shop a go. We did just that and certainly do not regret it.

Amazing service

Amazing service. From the moment we visited the showroom to when the delivery driver left our property we had outstanding customer service.
We had already ordered our windows from a local firm and due to a mess up on the French doors I found the Bi fold shop on line. I ordered bi folds instead of French doors. I just wish I had found them earlier.
Have not had them fitted yet but all looks great.
Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable friendly and had excellent customer service.
Highly recommend this company.

Good customer experience

Good customer experience. Good attention to detail by Bifoldshop customer service. Fitting bifold doors took less than 1 day. Fitting staff cleaned up afterwards.
Also there is a good warranty (5 or 10 years) from HomePro also included.

Bifold Shop didn't take responsibility for their serious and expensive mistakes

In 2025 our architect ordered the windows for our new house.
In June 2025, shortly before installation, Bifold Shop informed us they had made a mistake when writing the contract (which was signed by all parties). The contract clearly stated supplying & installing the windows, they had erroneously priced it for supply only. They wanted us to pay an extra £4,500.

Taking them to court (after all we had a contract signed by all parties) was not possible, as this would seriously delay the finish date of the building works, so we asked to split the difference: after all it was their fault.
Not only did they refuse this, they started to question why we had not spotted the error. Their sales manager even accused us of always having been aware, but having kept quiet as it was in our advantage.
In the end all they offered was a measly 13% discount on the installation costs, although admitting that it was entirely their fault.

After installation of the windows we noticed one window was entirely different from what was ordered and clearly depicted in the contract. Apparently their staff had not noticed this when installing it. We then had to wait about six weeks for the correct window to be manufactured, which meant the outside of our house could not be finished, delaying the finish date of the building works by more than a month.

Mistakes can happen (although... installing the wrong window??), but not taking responsibility for your own mistakes and accusing your clients of lying? We did complain about this, but we never received an apology - in fact, we never received any reaction at all.

We have now started works on our outbuildings and other properties, but will stay far away from this company.


A REACTION TO BIFOLD SHOP'S REPLY:

Several statements in Bifold Shop's reply require clarification so that the situation is accurately represented:

When you are in a long and complicated building project, you base your budget on prices in contracts signed by all parties, not on multiple quotes that were made during the sales process. So our budget was based on legal documents, not on quotes.
Apparently Bifold Shop's clear evidence of pricing is verbal agreements during the sales process; ours was a legal and binding document.

As for the sales manager not accusing us: he literally accused us of not having challenged their mistake because that worked in our favour. I have that in writing. That is an unjustified accusation, not a way of trying to understand. Bifold Shop knows this because the literal quote was in my complaint to them.

Again, Bifold Shop is questioning why the price difference wasn't queried by us immediately. Because we didn't notice! We didn't notice until they notified us much later! How can we query a mistake if we don't notice it? And how is it okay for them not to notice it much later, but not for us?

The lack of response I mentioned was to our complaint, which was made after all building works were finished and all payments made. This complaint was about how we had been treated and has nothing to do with legal requirements.
Bifold Shop did not respond at all to our complaint (which was exactly the same as this review), but is now happy to engage in the public domain...

We never disputed that the wrong window was a manufacturing error. We were just very surprised that Bifold Shop supplied and installed it without noticing that it was completely different from the specifications in the contract. (Their sale manager's reasoning would probably be that they didn't mention it because it worked in their favour, but we don't think that way.)

As I have already said: mistakes can happen. But letting your clients pay the bulk of the costs of your mistakes, unjustifiably accusing them of lying, installing without paying attention - and all without apologising is another matter.

We are sorry that you remain dissatisfied and regret that this experience has led to a one-star review. However, several statements in your review require clarification so that the situation is accurately represented.

The agreed price for supply and installation was confirmed both in writing and during a recorded telephone conversation prior to contract issue. Unfortunately, a human administrative error then occurred whereby the written contract was issued at a supply-only price, despite clearly stating “supply and installation”.

This discrepancy was identified and raised with you before installation commenced. At no point did we dispute that the contract document itself contained an error; however, the agreed price, verbally and in writing; was higher and consistently referenced as such throughout the sales process.

For clarity, this was not a case of revising pricing after agreement, but correcting a documented administrative error that conflicted with the previously agreed terms.

As we had clear evidence of the agreed pricing, we were fully prepared to resolve the matter through formal legal channels if required. We did not pursue this route only because it would have caused significant delays to your project; something we understood you were keen to avoid.

While we appreciate your proposal to split the difference, this would have required us to absorb a substantial cost arising from an already-agreed service. Nevertheless, we did apply a goodwill discount to the installation element despite having no legal obligation to do so (the 'measly 13%' mentioned).

You have stated that the error was entirely ours, which we accept in relation to the contract document itself. However, it is also a matter of fact that the issued contract price was approximately £4,500 lower than the previously agreed figure.

The sales manager raised this not as an accusation, but as part of understanding how the discrepancy went unnoticed. Had the figure been £4,500 higher than expected, it is reasonable to assume it would have been queried immediately?

You reference a lack of response to certain correspondence. It is important to note that we were legally unable to discuss contractual matters you, as you are not the individual named on the contract, in accordance with GDPR and data protection obligations. This was not a refusal to engage, but a legal requirement.

One window supplied did not match the agreed specification. This was a genuine manufacturing error, which we fully acknowledge and corrected by remanufacturing the correct unit. Unfortunately, bespoke glazing manufacture carries lead times, and we regret the knock-on delay this caused to your project.

We are genuinely sorry for the inconvenience caused by both the administrative error and the subsequent manufacturing issue. While mistakes can occur in any complex, bespoke project, we accept responsibility for correcting them and did so in full.

We regret that this experience has overshadowed the quality of the finished installation and wish you well with your future projects.

Excellent from start to finish.

We had our outdated patio doors replaced with modern bi-fold doors, what a transformation! The house is also so much warmer now. From start to finish, the whole experience has been pleasurable. Extremely helpful when deciding what was best for my needs, extremely competitive pricing, fitting completed in time for Xmas and excellent follow up to ensure I am completely happy. Fitting was completed within the day, the team were very polite and professional and left the place immaculate. I would definitely recommend and will use again. Thank you to you all.

This company does not even deserve a…

This company does not even deserve a single star! I would strongly advise against. From the very beginning I was misquoted and when the doors arrived, they were too small! We had no leverage over them as they take your money before installation. The surveyor - Craig- took the wrong measurements and as I signed a contract, they held me to it. Why would I doubt a surveyor’s measurements? Surely they know better than me as their measurements allow for the glass, trim, etc. Our builder took a photo of the measurements Craig took and when questioned, he became defensive and told us that if we were not happy with the doors, we needed to order (and pay) for new doors! Craig took the wrong measurements as the opening was prepared by the builder and I signed based on his incorrect measurements! My advice for anyone getting doors installed is to get two surveys! We have a 9cm opening with a huge trim! This company left the installation team in a difficult position but they deserve some credit for trying to fit big black trims to hide the huge gaps! Go elsewhere and steer clear of this company! Penny wise - pound foolish! The final payment should be after installation so you have some leverage if anything goes wrong!

Survey Notes vs Contractual Measurements:

The photograph taken by your builder of our surveyor’s notepad was never, and could never be, a contractual document or a final structural opening agreement. Survey notes are working measurements taken on site before installation tolerances, thresholds, and system allowances are applied.

The final door size is confirmed only within the signed contract documentation, which clearly sets out the manufactured dimensions once all technical tolerances are accounted for. These were reviewed and signed prior to manufacture.

Builder Coordination:

You have since confirmed in correspondence that the signed structural opening details were not shared with your builder, nor was any sizing documentation provided to them prior to installation. Unfortunately, this meant the builder prepared the opening without reference to the agreed door specification.

While we always encourage coordination between trades, responsibility for sharing approved specifications with third parties ultimately rests with the client.

Quotation Clarification:

The initial quotation provided by Phil was clearly marked throughout as “Supply Only”. This was not a misquote but a misunderstanding, which was identified and corrected before manufacture. The revised quotation for supply and installation was issued, agreed, and signed before proceeding.

Manufacture Accuracy:

The doors supplied were manufactured exactly in accordance with the signed contract, which was countersigned next to the final dimensions. There was no manufacturing error, and no deviation from the agreed specification.

Installation & Resolution:

Although the doors were manufactured correctly, we fully acknowledge that the visual result was not what you had originally envisaged. Despite this, our installation team went well beyond standard scope, sourcing specialist fascia and trim to achieve the best possible finish on the day and working late to do so.

In your own email correspondence, you described the installers as having gone “above and beyond”, and we are grateful that their efforts were recognised.

We understand that this situation has been upsetting. However, the doors were surveyed, specified, manufactured, and installed in line with the signed agreement, and the challenges arose due to a mismatch between the prepared opening and the approved specification; not due to negligence, incorrect manufacture, or poor workmanship on our part. We never like seeing customers that are disappointed, and there is something that we can learn from this as well, but we don't feel like the 1* review is justified.

We regret that this has resulted in a review as such, particularly given the efforts made by our team to achieve the best possible outcome on site. We sincerely hope that, over time, you are able to enjoy the doors and the quality of the finished product.
