Our aim is simple: to offer truly wonderful experiences in truly exceptional houses, for groups of friends and families. We have curated our fabulous collection of large houses to rent with great care. Each and every house has been hand-picked with those truly wonderful experiences in mind. All have oodles of space, luxury as standard, and unique features that add the ‘wow’ factor.
We’re a family business. It started with just the two of us; husband and wife duo, Gareth and Claire Allen. We’re developing a team of lovely like-minded people around us as we grow, who will make sure we never lose that family business feel. And that means we’ll never lose that level of personal service that our wonderful guests have come to love.
We are selective. And unapologetically so. We feature only houses we’d be genuinely excited about staying in ourselves. It’s not about numbers for us – we’re happy to keep our collection of properties small and beautiful if that means we can recommend each property with confidence and pride.

We stayed at Crofton lodge in Cheltenham which is perfect for a group or a larger family get together. The house is well maintained and provided everything you need for a perfect stay

AMAZING!!!!!! from booking to check out everything, and I mean everything was smooth, seamless and stress free. The property was 1st class, spotlessly clean and had the wow factor. I had questions answered by Tara and Ben met us at the house and gave us a tour of the property. 100% amazing

21st Birthday Celebrations
We had the most amazing weekend at River Valley House. Perfect for a large group of adults and teenagers. Facilities were outstanding and the weather was the icing on the cake.

Heathcote Manor - Stunning, well worth a stay
We stayed at Heathcote Manor to celebrate my 60th birthday, and it was truly wonderful. The house is beautifully presented, spacious, and very well equipped; everything you could need is there. The gardens and facilities are fantastic, offering plenty to enjoy during your stay.
We visited in late March, but I can imagine it would be even more special in the summer, making full use of the outdoor kitchen and stunning grounds.
I would highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous company and house!
From the initial enquiry to checking out of the property we received first class service. The house ‘Magpie Farm’ exceeded all of our expectations. We had 20 family members come together for 3 nights to celebrate a family birthday. Big house experience answered all of my queries promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Instructions were clear and it made organising such a large group much easier. The house was incredible so much land for family games, The pool was perfect as the children could play and the adults could supervise from the lounge watching through the large glass windows! Every bedroom and en-suite was immaculate. Thank you we made many happy family memories.

We recently stayed at The Hide to…
We recently stayed at The Hideaway to celebrate my 60th Birthday and cannot recommend it highly enough.
We were a group of family and friends with ages ranging from 21 to 87 and we all said how perfect the amazing property was , everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained .
The team at the Big House Experience are outstanding , so helpful and extremely responsive to any questions , communication from start to finish was excellent . We won’t hesitate in using them again in the future .

Perfect venue for a family weekend…
We had a tremendous family weekend break at The Malvern Lakehouse with tremendous professional help in finding a suitable property with the Big House Experience team. Our ages range from 7 months to 71. Plenty of rooms to accommodate us all easily & great tips about the house & area to make a magical weekend. I gave a brief summary of our requirements from a wheelchair user to travelling from all over the UK & this provided everything we needed. Will definitely recommend the Big House Experience company

We had a terrific stay at Tregulland to celebrate our 60th Birthdays. Our friends and family were blown away by the property. The fact it has eleven bedrooms all ensuite is fantastic. The kitchens are very well provided for and catering for our big group was easy.

Amazing mansion
We had an amazing weekend at Fallbarrow Hall celebrating my 30th birthday. The house itself is fantastic – spacious, beautiful and perfect for a large group. Everything was exactly as described and worked really well for a celebration.
Communication with the staff was excellent throughout. They were responsive, helpful and made the whole process very smooth from booking through to our stay.
We all had a great time and the house made the weekend really special. I would highly recommend it.

Such an epic house
Such an epic house - we were perfectly looked after, with Alex even helping unload the Sainsbury’s shop. We had a private chef A to Zest who made it all so easy and the food was brilliant. Getting there and back from London in a weekend was no problem at all.

The property itself (Magpie Farm) was stunning and we had a problem free, fantastic weekend.

10/10. Would use them again.
Our experience with Big House Experience was really positive. The booking process was straightforward. The communication leading up to the event, and afterwards, has generally been brilliant; there was one occasion where they were late in asking for the balancing payment, but they were apologetic. I would use them again for sure.
