I spent a lot of time researching financial platforms before choosing Billroo, and after a full setup and a guided session with one of the founders, I’m very confident I made the right decision.

The guided setup alone is a standout. It’s rare to get that level of direct access, and even rarer for it to be genuinely useful. It wasn’t a sales call; it was a proper working session that helped validate and refine my setup. That gave me a lot of confidence in both the product and the team behind it.

As a designer, the interface was a big factor for me. It’s clean, logical, and considered. Nothing feels cluttered or confusing, which makes a huge difference when you’re working with a lot of financial data. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into how everything is structured.

The built-in AI is also surprisingly well trained. It actually helps, rather than getting in the way, especially when categorising transactions and maintaining consistency.

A major advantage for Australians is the ability to link local bank accounts properly. This is something many platforms struggle with or don’t support well, and Billroo handles it seamlessly.

What really stood out to me, though, is the sense that the platform is actively evolving. There’s a clear roadmap and ongoing development, including features like the upcoming net worth tracking, which will make the system even more complete.

It also makes a difference knowing the founders are based in Australia and have built something specifically for this market. There’s a real gap here, and they’ve addressed it in a way that feels thoughtful and well executed.

After thoroughly setting up and testing Billroo, I’d confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a serious, well-designed financial platform in Australia. The product is strong, and the people behind it are just as impressive.

The site says start free trial and forces you to choose a paid plan as soon as you sign up. Misleading marketing at its peak.

Great customer service and provide responses in quick time with responses that are easy to understand.

Billroo was quick to get back to me about my issue and also suggested a work around in the meantime.

I have had budgets most my life and I have worked at keeping them valid but it was on a spreadsheet without live bank feeds and this led to unforeseen problems now and then but then I came across this fantastic program called Billroo which changed everything.
The AI component is awesome. It’s like having someone there keeping an eye on everything and gives you updates and more. This is a great program. I use it with my spreadsheet and it works so well. I am very happy with this app.

I really like this tool as the bank feeds will automatically link the transaction to the expenses and make me realise how much i really spend on certain types of expenses and gives me a realization of what i should do moving forward.

Great app for the budget conscious!

I started using Billroo after seeing the founders pop up on TikTok an thought it was a great idea. Other budgeting apps are so convoluted with lots of ‘features’ which makes planning and recording my transactions a nightmare. Billroo was straight forward and without the bells and whistles, just a simple budgeting app that was exactly what I was after. I like to manually add my transactions. But there are features to connect to your accounts etc which are perfectly safe.

What I appreciate is the fantastic customer service I have received since using the app. I remember one time there was an issue and I got a response straight away with the issue patched within the day. Honestly that was a great experience for me! The founders and team really take your feedback into consideration. I did initially use the early version which was web browser and after providing feedback about how great it would be as an app it was launched literally months later which is why I came back as a customer.

Overall a fabulous experience with Billroo and wishing the team all the best as they grow this fantastic business!

Great service, I had an issue with logon and creating profiles across accounts and devices but the customer service team was absolutely fantastic and I'm grateful for their fast and effective response!

The App is hugely automated with all my transactions across multiple banks/accounts. The visulisations within the App are very insightful.

Since using billroo I'm able to easily see what my expenses and savings are. Out of all the apps I have tried - it is the most affordable one and has such amazing features. I was having some technical issues and they sorted it for me within 24 hours.

Very useful for building better financial habits and staying organised. Dashboard gives a clear overview of spending and savings goals.
They have a great customer support team. The support staff are courteous, quick to respond, and very helpful.

Love this tool. I log on every morning and check the transactions have been correctly allocated. It gives me a daily snapshot of where my money is going and helps me plan for future expenses.

If it were possible to split into multiple categories it would be 5 stars. Probably the only feature missing.

I’ve used many finance tracking apps including Commbank’s internal app & WeMoney however the simplicity and streamlined dashboard gives me everything I need.

I can easily identify variances to budget during the month by $ as well as %.

I can run a month by month comparison to identify where I’ve indulged or where I’ve made headway.

Any major purchases stand out significantly but most importantly I can drill down to the category I overspent and immediately see the transactions history.

What more do you need…all other apps overcomplicate things as they feel the need to develop & shift away from the basic requirements.
