There is nowhere to sit outside without smoking everywhere! There are no smoking areas, but they aren’t enforced.

Δε βελτιώνονται με τίποτα τελικά! όσες φορές και να ταξιδέψω εγώ και συνάδελφοί μου εκπαιδευτικοί πάντα όλοι το ίδιο έχουν να πουν: αγενέστατο προσωπικό!!!Κάνουν οτιδήποτε δυνατόν για να μη θες να ξανά ταξιδέψεις με τη συγκεκριμένη εταιρία! Καθόλου τυχαίο που έχουν ακουστεί τόσες άσχημες ειδήσεις εξαιτίας εργαζομένων στη συγκεκριμένη εταιρία. Συν του ότι κάνουν συνέχεια λάθη στις κρατήσεις και μετά την πληρώνει ο πελάτης. Όσο μπορείτε αποφύγετε τη!!!

My recent trip with Blue Star Ferries was just okay. The ferry was on time but the inside felt messy and not really locked after. Getting off the boat was confusing, with people and cars pushed together and the stuff didn't seem very interested in helping either. It still gets you where you need to go, but the whole experience could be much better

Blue Star Ferries had a very promising beginning. I remember the first time I travelled abroad one of their first ships (Blue Star 1 if I recall). So clean, polite crew, vast spaces for the passengers, humane prices. The ship delayed departure for...5 minutes and there was an announcement by the captain apologising and explaining the reason. Since then...well every year worse and worse. And this summer it really hit rock bottom.

Overcrowded, dirty, unbelievable delays, impolite crew and prices almost equal to flying! No, it is not worth it anymore. Unfortunately this is one of the reasons that Greece -and especially Islands- is ruled out from favourite holiday destination.

Filthy and disorganised. Travelled on the Mykonos ferry which doesn't look like it has been cleaned in months - food crumbs everywhere, general dirt, grease and grime over every surface. Don't wear anything light in colour as it will be black after some time on the ferry. The toilet facilities are equally poorly, smell bad and have not been cleaned in some time.
Arrival at ports is chaos with walking passengers expected to go down stairs and walk down a turned off escalator to then go round a narrow corridor and walk in between vehicles attempting to leave via the same ramp. A separate walking ramp is available but never lowered, instead leaving people to risk being hit as multiple cars from all directions are heading for you. The process seems chaotic and disorganised but could so easily be resolved by using the other ramps on the ferry. As you leave the ferry expect to be covered in water from the engines being revved and creating large amounts of spray
The only good thing was that the ferry arrived on time

They arrive at 4am in Katapola, full motor and bipoing sounds on, then blast messages on their speakers to ensure everyone in the city is awake. Then they leave their motors on until 1pm to make sure the air is also polluted.

I traveled with Blue Star 2 from Symi to Piraeus. The ship offers many options for dining and has spacious lounges and outdoor decks from which you can enjoy the sea view. The cabin was also very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly.

I’m honestly shocked by how I was treated on my recent trip from Hydra to Athens with Blue Star Ferries. I had a valid booking confirmation but no QR code, and instead of helping me resolve the issue, the staff immediately assumed I was trying to commit fraud. They even took my passport without explaining why.
Their attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. As a paying customer, I expected basic courtesy and assistance — not suspicion and hostility. This experience left a terrible impression, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when booking with Blue Star Ferries.

Totales Chaos auf den Schiffen, keine Organisation und inkompetentes Personal. Egal was man wen fragt, es kommen nur Lügen dabei raus. Das Personal kennt die eigenen Abläufe nicht und erzählt nur Stuss, hauptsache irgendwas gesagt. Das fängt bei den Wegen an, geht über die Zeiten und hört bei einfachen Getränkebestellungen auf. Das macht es schwierig weil die Beschilderungen auch größtenteils falsch sind. Dazu kommen die dreckigen Schiffe miz kaputten Toiletten, Türen, Treppen und wer weiß was noch alles. Ich denke die Betreiber haben innerlich schon lange abgeschlossen.

The worst shipping line however, there is no any other line to serve Greek Islands. They act as a monopoly as they are and they have an attitude as they are the best, which are not. Totally rude staff, the hospital the worst. they load as much as cars they can without safety also the people they are lying wherever they can without any safety as vessels are always overload.

Jeg skulle med Blue Star Ferries fra Rhodos til KOS med en afgang kl. 9. Grundet dårligt vejr i det område færgen kom fra, blev afgangen udskudt til kl. 16. Vi afbestilte billetterne og bad om pengene tilbage, da vi købte billetter til en afgang samme morgen med et andet selskab. Blue Star Ferries vender ikke tilbage på vores mail henvendelser. Jeg har derfor i gangsat tilbagebetaling via Visa, fordi ydelsen ikke er leveret. Meget bøvlet. Hold jer langt væk fra dette amatør selskab.

It is always late, it'd be a miracle if it was on time, it is extremely unorganized and even though it's the cheapest the price is too much for what you get, at least seajets is more expensive but the ride is shorter aka the suffering doesn't last longer

There is barely wind and our ferry got cancelled.
Customer service doesn't exist: you do not know who to talk with and what to do

THEIR SPESKER IS SO LOUD AND NO STOP BESIDES OF BEING DELAYED ALMOST 2 HOURS

While booking for two people and a car online for a trip to the island of Samos on the 2nd of August is not user friendly at all.
I thought I had successfully booked it however it did not akcnowledge the car so when we turned up on the 2nd of August a few hours before departure we could not board because the car did not have a ticket so we had to go back to the hotel at extra expense to us and had to visit their offices the very next day to rebook our trip but was given no option whatsoever for a partial refund. The only option that was given to us was to write to their customer service section via email and explain our situation and their reply was they could not assist us at all.

De har lovet at refundere mine penge siden maj, har ringet og rykket, men de ligger bare på, vi tager indenrigsfly fremadrettet, er forøvrigt også billigere!

After travelling 30 hrs from Australia they left me in the scorching heat for 5 hrs, the ferry was delayed 2 hours due to "safety check" what a joke.. check out the rust that's been painted over 🖕 it's old and need to be a shipwreak on a island.
Deckhands are totally rude AF, no ppl skills AVOID BLUE STAR AT ALL COSTS.Same company who pushed a passenger overboard and killed him...

Terrible booking experience:
- multiple pages and very very long.
- collect too much information.
- at the beginning, it is indicated that you can book as a guest but at the ned it is almost mandatory to create multiple accounts in too many websites.
- the re is a mandatory box to click on to agree with the collecting mode (otherwise it is blocked) but it is very unconvenient.
Thus, it takes too much time to book basic tickets, it is expensive and for sure your data are sold. To be avoided unless you have no choice.

If I had the option I would pute minus 5. 30 minutes delay on the phone center just to make a reservation for a motorcycle shipment from Rodos to Pireaus, because even though we're in 2025 they don't give u the option to book it online. Of course, charges apply normally! After 30 minutes of waiting, they finally pick up the phone and, while I'm about to make the booking, the line shuts down. They don't call me back and I have to call them and wait another 30 minutes+ with all the charges included. Stay away!
