Poor CS is and overstatement
I purchased a multivendor extension from Webkul, during the installation Ihad to connect with BOLD, I don't know why, but I needed to move along. I filled out their application and their 2 step verification was not working, The CS is BS, I contacted Webkul for a refund which is a shame because I think they have a good product.

Terrible customer support
Terrible customer service for businesses that use their application. They made errors during a subscription migration from one app to theirs and refused to take any accountability. We lost a number of customers due to this. They were impossible to get a hold of, the only contact you have is their support email that noone responds to.
$350 overcharge. No response from bold.
Bold overcharged us (bold subscriptions) on Shopify by $350 in July 2024. August they responded to let us know a the overcharge was due to an error and a refund was coming in our next billing cycle.
As of September 25, 2024 we have received no refund and bold has stopped responding to emails.
Terrible business practice, terrible service. Careful with bold!
UPDATE: immediately after posting this review BOLD wrote to us to say that our refund had been processed. We have not still not received the refund, I followed up to ask for any documentation or details on the refund and bold has gone dark again. No responses. No money.
Be very careful with this company.

Dave is my hero for today...he sorted out my desktop problem by remote assistance. I am a IT numpty and wouldn't have a clue how to do it myself but he dealt with the problem very professionally and quickly. 5* service Dave, many thanks.
challenges with Bold/Shopify customer service working together
we used Bood for almost two years but had to give up after a month of trying to get the Bold customer service and the Shopify cust service to resolve why our customers were suddenly being charged sales tax for a non-taxable item. the biggest issue was that it was not every time and it was not clear why or when it would happen. neither company would take responsibility or fix the issue. we are giving up on Bold and will continue to try Shopify but are considering other options.
the least trustworthy app company…
Bold seems like the least trustworthy company for shopify apps. They got in early in the game and used to convince customers they had to pay ungodly amounts to be able to implement their apps into sites. I doubt that was ever true as that slowly disappeared and no other company has ever needed to add code to sites nor should it cost thousands to copy and paste anything into sites. This was for their original volume price breaks. After wasting that much and paying $19.99 a month for a couple years the app broke anyway and they forced us to switch to wholesale app. By now the install some extra code gimmick seems to be over but still they are real schemers. Use any other app compane.

They always blamed us, were slow and unresponsive in their customer service, and refused to provide compensation for lost sales. Do not use them!! Not worth it.
Horrible experience using Bold…
Horrible experience using Bold Memberships. Shopify deprecated the include tag in their code 3 YEARS AGO and still bold use it making the app unusable with modern themes. Their advice to just not update your theme is completely unacceptable and shows their priorities as a company.
Bold are truely awful and I'd recommend…
Bold are truely awful and I'd recommend avoiding them and going directly to their competitors.
Customer service is slow at best, they often take days to reply, and are only contactable in their own working day timezone - this leaves the majority of the planet unable to get live chat support.
I've had issues with general functionality, payment gateway fails, poor technical advice and once deciding to move to another platform it took Bold two months to do half the work, the other half I then had to subcontract.

Warning to anyone using Bold…
Warning to anyone using Bold Subscriptions, Customer Support is terrible, I've been waiting 4 weeks to have a problem fixed and losing business and customers from our grocery service.
Unfortunately They Are No Longer Worth Using
Unfortunately, having used four of their apps for 6+ years, I have finally extracted myself and my client from all their products.
The customer support is poor (unless it is a simple fix), their apps are massively incompatible even with other apps from their own library. It is an endless list of compromises and work arounds to make things work as expected.
Things have got worse since they took a massive investment. Their apps are now older and slower than ever (which seems odd) rather than improving. Things that have been broken for years are still broken and nothing is ever fixed.
Their app prices are also very high in comparison to others in the market.
Generally, I recommend you look elsewhere if you possibly can.

Three weeks later and my issue is still not resolved. Yet the have claimed more that once that it is fixed. I will change my review only once my issue is resolved. This is more than ridiculous. Of course, we are still being charged for their app that does not work as advertised.

Excellent customer service, helped us hit goals
I'm not the most tech savvy person out there but I could figure it out. And when I have questions, I can jump in a live chat within the app (I'm on Shopify) and not have to leave. So they can walk me through what I need to do without me trying to remember the steps or wait for the transcript to send to my email. I've been with Bold for more than a year but what finally prompted this review is my most recent interaction with Carter. Coronavirus is here and starting to hit this small business - he was incredibly helpful, sensitive to our needs and went above and beyond what he needed to do. Huge thanks to the Bold team. and I know there are a couple of subscription apps out there but I definitely made the right choice.
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Had an issue with our add to cart button not redirecting to the checkout correctly. I checked their FAQ page and couldn't find the answer so I opened a chat window. There was no waiting, I was connected with Brysen immediately, and they really know their stuff. This is probably the only time I've ever had someone actually help me right away over chat. With other apps we use normally it's days before someone gets back to you if at all. Very happy with the support I received.

Recurring orders has helped our family-owned business to manage and service our consumer base much more efficiently. Previously, customers would call in for their personal orders speak with us on product recommendations, pay via cc and so forth. Now recurring orders allows the customers to purchase what and when they want their coffees PLUS the Bold Brain also is a fabulous way to encourage our customers to buy more and recur that product too...a BIG WIN here. And, the BOLD team has the absolute BEST service around; they respond immediately and they teach us how to work with their apps and provide more for our customers. These guys (and gals) ROCK and their recurring orders app plus the Bold Brain is the BEST for product recommendations and further sales. This is a no brainer...get the recurring orders app, Upsell, product options, currency, BOLD Brain, or whatever works best for your company. The BOLD team and their apps make it completely possible to grow your business and handle your buying base accurately and smoothly. It has worked for us and their service is absolutely excellent!
