Whilst I was shredding there was a big bang and a flash and the paper in the tray caught fire , singed my hair so had to carry it out of the house before the house caught fire.

I bought a Bonsaii C169-B paper shredder from an auction site, where it was advertised as brand new in the box. When I received it, the box and all the packaging appeared to be completely new and unopened.

After setting up the shredder according to the instructions, I found that it wouldn't work. Before reaching out to Bonsaii’s customer service, I performed all the necessary checks, including verifying the contacts and micro switches, and everything seemed fine.

However, when I contacted Bonsaii, their first response was to suggest I check all the things I had already examined. After informing them that I had completed those checks, their second suggestion was for me to purchase a brand new machine at a 10% discount.

While I understand that I didn’t have any warranty for the shredder since I bought it through an auction site, I was disappointed by their lack of assistance. I expected a bit more helpfulness from their customer support.

My daughter bought me a Bonsaii shredder from Amazon in June but I hardly used it until today 10th Sept. I only shredded a few pages and it kept overheating and smelling like it was melting. I Left it to cool down then tried one sheet of paper’ it stopped halfway through again overheating. It’s the worse shredder I have ever used. Amazon you need to stop selling fire hazards.

Paper Shredder C237-B is useless and dangerous. It says max 6 pages but it was burning/smoking after 6 single sheets shredded. This was the first time I used it. Have to throw it away before it burns the house down. WARNING: RISK OF FIRE written on top of product. Of course you don’t know this until you have bought and unpacked it. They aren’t wrong about that. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Rather disappointing shredder. First we borrowed one from a friend to do some shredding and it broke. We then bought this one as a replacement. It stopped working after 5 weeks. Not really impressed with this shredder as it can only run for 4 minutes continuously which is rather astonishing short time. Seems the engine is not very sturdy and gets hot very fast. This even if you feed only 5 pages at the time even though it should manage 10. After the second replacement shredder lasted for about 3 min I returned it. I put through a maximum of 5 pages and after 3 minutes the shredder started to develop smoke. It is a dangerous product and effeminately not fit for purpose!

Purchased the C-266B 12 sheet micro cut shredder in October 2024. Died shredding an envelope in January 2025. Filled out the problem sheet to the company. No response from company

CANT REMEMBER WHEN BOUGHT THIS SHREDDERI BUT IT HAS BEEN GREAT UNTIL YESTERDAY WHEN IT STARTED MAKING A NOISE LIKE A NOISY MACHINE LEFT T UNTIL THISMORNING IT STILL SWITCHES ON BUT WONT SHRED

After 5 months of use, the system powered off while shredding a paper bag. I let it sit for 6 hours but still nothing. No lights red or blue no noise. Zero indication there was power. I called thier support and when through all the troubleshooting to no avail. I was then told a paper bag that is equivalent to 2 pieces of paper is a foreign object that is not recommended to be put in the shredder and they will not honor the warranty. Since I was past the return window and thier warranty does not exist, I opened it up to find that an internal power cable connector came loose. I reconnected it and it now is working again.

To everyone that wants to know if C144-D shreds cardboard....YES! We shredded every box we had in the house including the thick box that it arrived in. Absolutely awesome! BTW we used A piece of cardboard soaked in vegetable oil instead of buying the overpriced strips (which aren't wide enough anyway) to oil the device. Ran it for 20 minutes before it told us basket was full. Kept feeding it for 90 minutes before it said gimme A break 😁 if it fits in the slot it's shredded. We took off all stickiness (tape/stickers)etc. Honestly it's just sitting here like WHAT you got more! Facts!

Got C149-C for my mom and we love it. l stepped up to this excellent shredder and there's no turning back. This shreds CCs yes the ones with the chips too. It devours CDs for breakfast. Oops put a handful of staples or small paperclip thru. No problem. It has great capacity, and will keep going if you keep feeding it, Eventually will get a little hot if you're pushing it, but has an onboard fan, so it only takes a couple minutes when it reaches over temp level, and that hardly happens. Oh and it crosscuts for security at about an inch, So your shreds are 1/16" wide and only about an inch long, I love the unit.

First shredder kept jamming customer service efficiently sent a second one which had no power!! Transferred the printed circuit board from the old to the new and it worked for a short time. Shredder keeps jamming and is of no use - waste of money and now I have to find a decent replacement, but not Bonsaii

My shredder worked perfectly for 3 weeks and then stopped. No power was getting to the unit. What made the difference was Cathy in Customer Support. After working through possible causes, they quickly sent me a new shredder without requiring the bad one to be returned. Only asked pertinent questions and resolved the issue.

We had a bit of a "glitch" at first working out a replacement for a shredder that was misbehaving. Everything eventually worked out great. This is our second Bonsaii product and some day way down the road I'm sure that we will be purchasing our third.

We have been in business for 40+ years and only buy industrial shredders as we have confidential drawings by the hundreds every 2 weeks. We ordered Model 3S30, and it is arguably the best shredder we've owned in those 40+ years. Built solid, and remarkably quiet for an 18 page capacity. This is the clincher, and a very noticeable difference between our last "name brand" shredder that was almost twice the cost of the Bonsaii 3S30... The Bonsaii 3S30 motors do not slow down when fed 18 pages or even light poster board. Cathy with Customer Service was extremely prompt in getting back with us and our transaction was seamless. We will without doubt buy Bonsaii for any future needs. Assuming this one doesn't outlast me. Thanks again Cathy!

My Bonsii developed a problem, I put too much paper through. I cleared the cutter, although blue lights showed it would still not take the paper. Contacted Bonsii, with their advice and a picture telling me where to look, I found problem and was up and running again, good as new. Would thoroughly recommend the machine and the Company. THANK YOU BONSII

Im Oktober 2021 einen Aktenvernichter über Amazon gekauft. Nach 3 maliger Benutzung hat dieser nun den Geist aufgegeben. Max. 6 Seiten soll er schaffen, nicht mal 3, da bleibt er stehen. Ständig Aussetzer, eigentlich sollte die Schretteraktion ne 1/2 Std. dauern daraus wurden 3 - 4 Std. weil er laufen rot leuchtet. Er ist privat im Einsatz. Und nun geht gar nichts mehr. Nur Schrott was hier aus China kommt, denn Amazon hat verschickt und verkauft ein Händler aus China mit Namen: Justar Technology Ld., Hong Kong. Unfassbar.

First time I bought a shredder from this store again, I was quite worried before buying because there are so many unreliable websites nowadays. Luckily I got my machine without any problems, although there is a small problem (there is a scratch on the edge of the machine, probably caused in transit), but there is nothing wrong with the machine, it works fine, email contact bonsaii, their customer service is very polite, said they can give me a new one, but I think it is too much trouble, so I took their store coupon, all in all, not a bad shopping experience.

Ordered a shedder. They sent me a trash can. I know it sounds like I’m being facetious or maybe speaking metaphorically…but they literally sent me the complete wrong item. Ordered a little home office shredder, was sent a 30L trash can. I’m willing to change my review if they fix this…but this isn’t what I ordered. Not even close. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend.

Ordered a shredder. Shows on tracking it was delivered today and signed for. It was not delivered.
The tracking on "SHOP" has a button that looks like service but it is an auto REORDER. Trying to get in touch with customer service is impossible. The phone wait time said 3 minutes. After 10 I gave up and sent emails. Unanswered. Worst customer service ever.Don;t order from them.

I’d been through two paper shredders in five years, so wanted a new one that was reliable and robust, as well as good at shredding paper to confetti. The Bonsaii DocShred C560-D came recommended by which.co.uk, so I bought it. I got it early February 2019 and it worked really well then in early January 2021 it suddenly stopped working. I was going to contact Bonsaii customer service but when I went online I saw their HQ was in the USA and wondered how effective they’d be at helping to either get the shredder going or refunding my money. I’d kept my invoice and it had a UK company called Morning Joy Technology Ltd and a UK address but no customer service contact number. So I looked them up on the internet. The UK address is listed as a terraced house in Orpington and is the address of two other companies run by Chinese directors. I also found out they had an office in Hong Kong. I realised I wasn’t going to get the customer service I needed to help me solve the problem of how to get this shredder working, so I contacted Amazon where I’d bought it from. Fortunately for me Amazon refunded me my money under their 2 year money back policy. But if they hadn’t done that I’d be out of pocket. So based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend purchasing Bonsaii paper shredders.
