Disappointing Experience
I contacted this company specifically about marketing my established catalogue of 14 books. Their entire response was:
“Thank you for reaching out. We are unable to take on this project at this time but I wish you the best of luck.”
No explanation. No feedback. No indication of why my project wasn't a fit.
As an established independent author, I'm not looking for editing, publishing, cover design or a collection of other paid “author services.” I was looking for one thing: someone capable of actually marketing books.
Perhaps that was the problem. I don't know, because they didn't bother to tell me.
Their response reminded me of the form rejections authors routinely receive from agents and publishers. If a company is in the business of helping authors, I would expect something more useful and professional than a one-sentence dismissal, particularly after an author approaches them with a substantial existing catalogue.
The experience left me wondering whether their real business is marketing books or selling services to authors.
I can't speak to the experiences of their paying clients because I never became one. I can only speak to mine, and based on that experience, I would look elsewhere.
