The reason i write theese guys a 5 star review;
I had an issue with a hardcover book i recieved from them. It had a cut on the dustjacket. The cut was clean and i assume it came from them opening the original product box.
- Instead of offering a discount or trying to get out of it, 12 hours later I recieved a mail that they would send a new copy. The damages one i could keep.
This is how to retain customers! Great job guys!

On a side note, they have great packaging! When i've ordered big books or larger lots of books they always arrive in small boxes safly placed in a larger shipper.

Great online shopping experiance! Wonderfull for collectors.

At least overseas they do ship somewhat slowly, but managing to ship safly and cheaply this is now my favored book store!

Very disappointed with this website.
Ordered a book on the 7th of December, they took my money straight away, no confirmation email, nothing. On the 15th I receive a notification from my bank saying the payment was reversed. Again, no email, nothing. Checked my orders on their website and it still says Pending.

I wrote this review above on the 15th and now realized Trust Pilot deleted my review for supposedly violating their rules, I cannot understand why.
The book arrived last week (after I had already bought it from another place and today (2nd January) I got charged the money again.
I want my money back.

Order not dispatched 10 days after ordering, Customer service can only say it will be 'later this week', 4 days after that, the order is still not dispatched. Then they say it will still be 3-5 days delivery using Royal Mail. What business is still trying to use Royal Mail right now, especially when the order is already delayed? Will stick with Amazon in future. Might not always be the cheapest but they know how to do deliveries and customer service properly.

Placed an order on morning of 1st December. No email confirmation received but if I log into my account the order appears. For a week now my order has shown as pending. I emailed Books etc customer services and received a reply on Monday stating that ‘it is due for dispatch in the next couple of days.’ Three days later the order still shows as pending, although I could not even check this for a couple of hours this morning as the website was unavailable. In 7days nothing has happened with my order. It hasn’t even been dispatched.

If the order still shows as pending tomorrow then I will cancel it and order via a reliable retailer. It is a Christmas gift and I now have no confidence in Books etc.

Shambolic.

Update….now 8 days and counting and still the order is pending. Have supplied Books etc with the order details following their reply.

Final update….the book arrived 10 days after placing the order. The order still shows as pending on Books etc’s website!

With IT systems that are not functioning correctly, giving the customer no sensible information, and a week’s delay until my item was apparently dispatched, I will not be using Books etc again anytime soon.

Bought two highly expensive items from them tin boxes with multiple books in. Each box was ridiculously damaged, dented, lids falling off, the bottom of one tin completely bent in on itself. I took multiple photo's and sent them to the company, I'm agrophobic with no help, so I was stuck with the tins whether I liked it or not. I asked if I could have a partial refund as I couldn't return them, they simply said 'NO' send them back and we'll refund or replace, 'we don't do partial refunds'. Never again will I waste my time with this useless company, who incidentally I had to contact them to ask where was my item anyway as I'd ordered it well over a week ago. They were fairly polite but in the end they won! I got left with damaged rubbish through no fault of my own and they got about £40 off me for something that once they were done with it wasn't worth £5, never again. I really wouldn't recommend this company to anybody ever, not if you don't want to waste your time, breath or money! I would give them no stars if I could!

The book, which was priced very competitively, was delivered promptly. It was also well packed and in excellent condition.

Books Etc are terrific. Almost invariably cheaper than Amazon, their packaging is excellent and customer service second to none. Highly recommended.

Service was excellent, the book was in perfect condition (as described), and the price was very reasonable. I'm pleased and grateful.

Fast delivery. Well packaged. This copy on Booksetc was the cheapest I could find.

A bookseller that actually packages books in a way that protects the books! Will wonders never cease! The lack of care shown by your competitors is astonishing. If you keep your prices competitive with Amazon I will keep buying from you. Thanks for making the effort with the packaging on my first two orders, and I look forward to receiving my third soon.

The book was a few pounds cheaper than Amazon and it arrived just as quickly, well packaged.

The book arrived promptly. I was kept informed of despatch. However, it did arrive a little creased.

I've never had an issue with Books etc. Their prices are keen and the selection wide. Their packaging is always excellent and the items are received in perfect condition. First class all round.

Missing allot of the content and in my opinion miss leading people as not stated in the listing, this is obviously their strategy to sell the books.

I buy approximately 50 books yearly, the majority that I buy online I get from from 'Books etc'. The reason is that although not the quickest to deliver the books they are consistently cheaper than their competitors and this includes Amazon, Waterstones, The Hive, Abe Books, The Book Depository, Blackwells, Wordery and others. Often not a small difference, I have saved as much as £15 on one book compared to their nearest competitor. The books have usually arrived within a week, adequately packaged and in excellent condition.
