Beauty industry to Tech Sales
Huge thanks to the BIT team for helping me break into such a competitive industry with endless potential once you have your foot in the door!
At 32 being in the beauty industry for 16 years I never imagined I could switch careers, having not had a university degree. Like many I stumbled upon tech sales via social media and initially thought this might be to good to be true, but I can assure all reading this that this community is legit and exceeded my expectations âºïž
I landed a hybrid role with 32k OTE and uncapped commission within 12 weeks. You can absolutely achieve higher offers than this if you want to, having an inside referral and liking the supportive management style made me opt for this one. Iâm on track to earn 70k OTE within 2 years after progressing.
Highly recommend, take the chance ð«¶ðŒ
Breakintotech review
Iâm a recent graduate and was struggling with getting replies from jobs - I came across Break Into Tech and it helped me gain insightful information about tech sales, the roles, how to position myself and steps to take to ensure companies would reply to me. They helped me with my CV and LinkedIn too. This led to recruiters reaching out to me as well as jobs I was applying to - I ended up doing many interviews and landed an SDR role in edtech with a total salary package of £45k. I would recommend if youâre a recent graduate wanting to get into tech sales or anyone who wants to make a career switch.
Landed a BDR role in just 9 weeks; incredible investment!
I want to make this review as clear and concise as possible. So firstly, to elucidate, if you truly see yourself working in this industry and are contemplating whether you should join this course, my simple answer: yes.
The structure, support, accessibility to knowledge and coaching hands down makes it the recipe you need for success.
I am within the 18-21 age bracket and upon joining BreakIntoTech I had just graduated university. I had no prior sales experience and was working part time at a chemist whilst nurturing some entrepreneurial ventures.
Before, encountering Laraâs TikTok page I was unaware of the structure and opportunities within the Tech sales industry. After further research, I was able to see alignment between me and the industry. And had decided that joining BIT would be the best decision due to the abundance of information and guidance they would be able to provide.
It is also worth noting that the process to gaining a space on the course also really enticed me as they are also looking to qualify you and ensure you are a right fit. That quality of not accepting anyone who is willing to pay speaks volumes to the type of course this is.
To land my role it took me 9 weeks, and I landed a BDR role at an American SaaS company in London. What really stood out to me is the interview results I gained after following the LinkedIn and CV optimisation modules.
BreakIntoTech has revised and tested methods for each step within the job hunting process. In addition to that, allow the: frequent Q&A calls, WhatsApp community providing around the clock advice, personal branding and mindset work to act as further factors of reassurance and encouragement to join.
With all that being said I would definitely recommend this course to others, especially if you are willing to truly optimise all the resources provided. If you are serious about breaking into tech this is 100% the best move!
100% recommend the BIT program!!
I could not have enough amazing things to say about this program! Iâm currently 27 years old and wanted to pivot into tech sales from recruitment but had no idea where to start. Joining the BIT program gave me the ability to learn bout the tech sales industry, how to position myself as the ideal candidate to get hired. After only 3 weeks in the program, I was able to secure an offer from an HR software company with a £55k OTE with uncapped commission. Coming from someone with 0 experience and an ex-recruiter, I think that those stats are extremely impressive, with only the BIT team to thank. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to break into the space with proper guidance to get you exactly where you want to be.
From No Tech Sales Experience to SDR
Iâm 25 years old and came from an audit and accounting background with no previous tech sales experience. Before joining Break Into Tech, I was struggling to understand how to position my transferable skills, optimise my CV and LinkedIn, and confidently navigate the tech sales hiring process.
I joined Break Into Tech because I wanted to break into the tech industry but didnât know where to start. There was so much conflicting advice online, and I felt like I needed a clear roadmap and support from people who had already done it.
The programme provided exactly that! The training was easy to follow and covered everything from CV and LinkedIn optimisation to networking, interview preparation, and personal branding. The coaching calls and community were particularly valuable, as they kept me accountable, motivated, and gave me the opportunity to get feedback and answers to my questions whenever I needed them.
Within a few months of joining, I secured an SDR role in the SaaS industry with a competitive salary and commission structure. More importantly, I gained the confidence to approach the job search strategically and effectively.
I would highly recommend Break Into Tech to anyone looking to transition into tech sales, especially those coming from non-sales backgrounds. If youâre willing to put in the work and follow the process, the support, guidance, and community can make a huge difference!
I have landed a tech sales job!âš
I have landed a tech sales job!âš
After 3 months (honestly felt like 6 but realised is started 21st Feb and got my offer on 26th May), Iâve landed a role as a BDE @ a fintech company so itâs a step above SDR but first time the company is offering an entry level role most have 10yrs+ B2B experience whereas I only have 1yr B2C so a lot of work needs to be done for me to make sure I outperform and over exceed their expectations and kpiâs but I am grateful as this new environment will force me to grow and develop enterprise sales skills.
This wouldnât have been possible without the incredible support from this community â huge shoutout to @Bilal (Milan) for the consistent advice, @Lara for all the gems on TikTok, and everyone else who kept me motivated along the way ð¥
The coaching, CV/LinkedIn help, and daily group calls made all the difference â so thank you all.
This is just the beginning and Iâm excited for whatâs next. Iâll be sticking around in the chat to support anyone who needs help â feel free to reach out anytime! ðð«¡
Review
Really good program if youâre serious about breaking into tech sales. It gives you a clear step-by-step systemâCV, LinkedIn, outreach, and daily actions. The CV and outreach strategies alone helped me start getting responses and interviews quickly. Definitely worth it if youâre willing to put in the work. I was able to land a role within 8 weeks of joining.
I entered the BIT programme at 28 yearsâŠ
I entered the BIT programme at 28 years old after working in psychology. My career progression was slow, and I felt underpaid for the experience and qualities I had.
I joined BIT because I wanted to start a career where salary and progression were a priority. I had experience landing interviews prior to this, but they were infrequent, and I struggled to reach the point where I would receive an offer. I had seen Bilalâs TikTok videos about breaking into tech since I started trying to get into tech sales, but I thought I would be able to do it myself. After I failed an interview in January, I decided to take that step by investing in the programme, and it was the best decision I have made.
After only two weeks in the programme, I landed more interviews than I had in the several months prior to joining BIT. Three months later, I had received my first offer, working at a company called GEEIQ with a base salary of £30k and an OTE of £45k. This is a £17k pay increase from my psychology role, with a clear progression path to a £100k role within 18 months. For context, this would have taken me about 15 years if I had continued in psychology.
The course was incredible: daily Q&As, an extensive offline programme detailing everything you need to know, access to tutors, and moreâespecially guidance on how to succeed in the role after landing a job. They really helped me navigate the path to being successful in obtaining interviews and performing well in them too.
I would highly recommend this to anyone considering it, and I look back on that difficult initial decision to join with absolute confidence that it was the right choice.
If you want to propel your career and get into a highly competitive field, join this programme!
My great experience with BreakintoTechâŠ
Iâm 26 from Gloucestershire looking to move to London into a tech sales role.
I felt stuck in banking and wanted to transition into a career that could generate me and an organisation a lot more revenue.
I joined Break Into Tech because I needed a clear roadmap, structured support, and guidance from people who had already done it.
Within 3 months of joining the program, I landed my first role as a SDR with a great organisation in central London. My offer was around £57k OTE. The program helped me build confidence, improve my CV/ LinkedIn and interview skills, and ultimately reach the potential I knew I had.
Thank you to Bilal and the team for helping me through this transition. I could not recommend the course more!
Iâm 22 and recently landed a role in tech sales after completing the Break Into Tech Accelerator.
Iâm 22 and recently landed a role in tech sales after completing the Break Into Tech Accelerator.
Before joining, I was a final year university student studying business, with no direct experience in tech sales. Rather than spending months figuring out the application process on my own, I decided to invest in myself and join BIT to fast track my progress.
The programme helped me build a strong CV and LinkedIn profile, and gave me a clearer structure for approaching applications and interviews. It also pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and take the process more seriously.
After 2 months of consistent effort, I secured a role with a Manchester-based tech company (26k base, 37k uncapped OTE + equity).
During my time in the programme, I could see that it has continued to evolve. The level of support and structure now being offered today appears significantly stronger than what I experienced initially, which is great to see. Breaking into tech takes real effort, but I have confidence the programme will continue improving for students who are willing to stay consistent, work hard and take accountability.
Overall, the team are great and I would recommend this to anyone serious about fast tracking their career in tech sales !!
From Engineering to Tech Sales in a Few Months
Iâm in my early 20s and come from an engineering background, but I didnât have any real experience in tech sales. I knew I wanted to move into a more commercial role with better earning potential, but I had no clear idea how to break into the industry.
Before joining Break Into Tech, I was applying for roles but not getting much success. I wasnât confident in how to position myself, especially coming from a non-sales background, and I didnât really understand what companies were looking for in BDR candidates.
I decided to join because I needed structure, guidance, and a clear path into tech sales. After joining the programme, things became a lot more focused. With their help, I was able to land a BDR role within a few months with a £25k base and £34k OTE.
The most valuable parts for me were the CV and LinkedIn support, interview preparation, and understanding how to actually sell myself despite not having direct experience. The accountability and community also helped a lot in staying consistent throughout the process.
Overall, Iâd definitely recommend Break Into Tech to anyone looking to transition into tech sales, especially if youâre coming from a different background like engineering and donât know where to start. It gives you a clear roadmap and the support to actually get results.
Progress with structure
I joined Break Into Tech with a couple of years of sales experience across both B2C and some B2B, but was struggling to break into a proper tech sales role. I knew I had the ability, but wasnât positioning myself in the right way.
The program really helped tighten everything up, from my CV and LinkedIn to how I approached interviews and spoke about my experience. The biggest difference was understanding how to actually sell myself and structure answers in a way that hiring managers in tech expect.
After months of applying and staying consistent, I was able to land an BDR role at an AI company, which was exactly the outcome I was aiming for.
Iâd recommend it to anyone serious about getting into tech sales, but like anything, you have to put the work in and stay persistent.
BIT helped me tie a varied career into a marketable narrative.
Hi all, name is Hassan and Iâm 25 and like most other recent grads, Iâve spent the last year and a half searching for a job like far too many other people.
I thought Iâd done everything right, gone to top unis (LSE anthropology and law, UCL immersive storytelling) with good grades and then trying to make it in the tech space as a developer. Unfortunately, thereâs just not a lot happening on the technical development side for people trying to break in. I went to every networking event I could find, invested capital into networking communities too, applied to countless jobs and typed the words coffee chat more times than I care to admit and just nothing happened, even with me getting an internship with the NHS in building them a clinical training programme with VR and AI ð€·ââïž
I had the right skills on paper, technical and academic, but something was still misssing. This was where joining BIT was transformative. Suggested to me by one of my networking communities, I suddenly signed up for tech sales, something I had a bit of experience of sure but had never considered the actual selling part as a viable career on itâs own before.
When I joined I was still skeptical about the course as well as the industry, but seeing how much knowledge I had access to was a game changer. Everything is categorised in modules, a dummyâs guide even as it was all explained so comprehensively and well. I learnt how to ATS optimise my LinkedIn and CV to start getting interviews, how to actually prepare for the job already (to ace the interviews) as well as a clear breakdown of every stage of interview and likely questions asked and how to prepare. Not to even mention the supportive gcs and regular calls to get questions answered and my material reviewed.
It took me 3-4 weeks to get maybe 15 interviews total including in person ones and assessment days and Iâve now accepted an offer to start at Babri Legal as an SDR. While the salary is a little lower than average at £30 K + OTE, BIT taught me to take a chance on myself and have the humility and insight to recognise that for my long term future, securing a role where the environment for my ramp period (becoming an SDR/BDR from scratch) is excellent, supportive and the product is actually interesting (legal and AI is my background) is the right step as I can convert this into double the salary with this stronger foundation by getting another role in just 9-12 months! This mindset and the faith Bilal,Lara and Maha had me in is perhaps the greatest gift I got from this programme.
Iâm someone super reluctant to pay for anything (as George costanza said, why would I pay when if I apply myself, maybe I can get it for free) but this is one of those training programmes I have no regrets over and I owe my current and future career too. Take the leap, especially if youâre also a young grad who needs to get in the door somewhere, you wonât regret it.
BIT programme & landing a fintech role
Age: 28. I come from a background of 7 years in commercial finance roles and 7 years in retail part-time roles during my studies. I have a degree in accounting & finance.
I joined the Break Into Tech programme end of Dec 25 when I wanted to intentionally invest in a programme to prepare me to apply for tech sales roles & initially had no idea where to begin. However the structure and knowledge of this programme helped me to land a role within 3 months of joining the programme. I spent 1 month going through the programme properly and networking. The following 2 months after that I landed 30 interviews in 8 weeks and I couldnât have done that without the programme.
I have now landed a role as an SDR at a rapidly growing fintech London hybrid based role. £65K OTE starting + equity.
The programme helped me on how to optimise my LinkedIn & CV. What was most important was learning how to position my finance and retail experience in a way to relate to a role within fintech sales. The community itself was amazing, everyone was willing to network with you and guide/support you. I would definitely recommend this programme to anyone thinking of a career change/pivot, coming from a non-traditional background or a fresh graduate learning how to land a role. There are life long teachings you will keep using going forwards.
Best ROI you will ever spend in your life.
Highly recommend to anyone who is ready to invest in themselves and transition into tech sales. The programme modules, coaching and community support are all 10/10. In less than 2 months `I've secured a top paying SDR role! On top of that, I've learnt practical skills on interviewing - how to perform well in them and how to actually get them (which is not an easy code to crack on your own in this job market).
Landed a role in 2.5 weeks!!!
Iâm a 34 year old female marketing professional. Hit a glass ceiling in my career and was seeking change. Had been applying to marketing roles for months and was getting hit with rejections left, right and centre. Enrolled into BiT and landed my first BDR role at Flatpay within 2.5 weeks! A £40k OTE starting salary with clear (and fast) progression! I would have never landed this role without the coaching, CV/linkedin optimisation, encouraging community and incredible course structure. Cannot recommend it enough!
Worth every penny.
Im 24 and come from a hospitality/sales background (also did a law degree) both fields felt very unfulfilling and I wanted a much more scalable career. Found the course through tiktok (had my doubts at first) but after seeing the fantastic success stories, reviews and what the course had to offer, I couldnât resist! It took me roughly 6 months to land a role (simply because I had other commitments). The guidance and support provided is fantastic from people (Bilal and Lara) who GENUINELY care and will support you. I found the CV help provided by my mentor Uzma particularly helpful and general LinkedIn advice. The interview and negotiation guidance given my Bilal was extremely helpful too and itâs because of him, I was able to land a role with a salary I was happy with. The course helped me greatly with interview confidence and objection handling which are two aspects I personally struggled with before. I 100% recommend this course to everyone regardless of your background and experience. Take that leap and join!
Landed a BDR role at an AI companyâŠ
Landed a BDR role at an AI company after 5 months in the course. The support is brilliant throughout and the team are with you every step of the way.
Break Into Tech Truly Works âïžâïžâïžâïžâïž
At 23 years old, I made the decision to leave the insurance industry and pursue a career in tech â even though I had no prior experience and no degree. Break Into Tech helped make that transition possible.
Before joining, I felt stuck and unsure how to position myself for a tech role. I didnât understand the tech landscape, I lacked confidence, and I needed real guidance on how to make such a big shift in my career. Thatâs why BIT immediately stood out to me.
I dove into the program, and during that time I was able to completely transform my approach â from improving my interview skills to building my personal brand and expanding my network. BITâs support, structure, and accountability made all the difference.
After about 5 months, I landed an SDR position with a med-tech company, earning a $50k base salary with an $85k OTE. This opportunity genuinely changed the trajectory of my career.
Break Into Tech helped me with interview prep, confidence-building, networking strategies, and understanding how to present myself professionally. The community and mentorship were invaluable.
I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone whoâs serious about breaking into tech but feels overwhelmed, unprepared, or unsure where to start. If youâre willing to put in the work, BIT will guide you every step of the way.
23 year old from 26k to 44k in Manchester
I am 23 years old from Manchester working in a b2c environment for break virgin media . Manchester roles are hard to come by , the ones that are require at least some b2b experience and the others look at recent grads , I was in a very tough position but bilal helped me to tell my story better , position my inexperience as strength and learn how to push past those objections of no experience, the thing I loved the most about break into tech is the community , you learn a lot from people who are t trying and failing , the best methods of outreach are shared by students who have success with them , you feel inspired by individuals who push past failure and it really motivates you to, the offer I landed was a 44k OTE package in a leading Hr and Payroll provider , I was in a blessed position to have two offers and bilal helped me pick the best one using his expertise and negotiate salary , Iâd recommend break into tech if you have the hunger and desire to land a role but no direction or no clue how to articulate your story .
