Fraudulent Subscription and Deceptive Billing
I recently discovered multiple charges on my credit card from this company, which I did not knowingly authorize. The charges began in January 2025 and continued until I noticed them and canceled my card in July 2025.
The company claims I signed up through a “Skill Game” promotion and that I was sent a welcome email with login credentials. However, I have thoroughly searched my email (including spam folders) and never received any such message. I was also never informed that a paid subscription would begin after a trial, nor was I warned before the recurring charges commenced. There were no follow-up emails confirming the trial was ending or that charges were about to occur — which is standard with legitimate subscription services.
When I contacted BudgetingBlasts.com:
They refused to refund charges beyond the most recent one.
They continued to insist I had knowingly subscribed, without providing any proof (such as signup data, IP address, or confirmation emails).
They admitted they offer a 100% refund within 14 days, but refuse to honor that policy for charges I only became aware of recently.
They use vague and misleading language around a “Skill Game” competition that seems to be bait for unsuspecting users.
I believe this company is using misleading advertising, dark patterns, and deceptive billing practices in breach of Australian consumer law.
I am requesting that Scamwatch review this business for potential unfair business practices or fraud. I am also lodging a dispute with my bank to recover the funds.
