DON'T DO IT!!
Don't put your information on this website... They sell your information. You WILL get destroyed by ad salesmen and other less than necessary salesmen of which a lot of them are overseas and can seem like they are scamming you. To top it off, they don't have a system for you to "opt-out" or cancel payment of your subscription. Which is a breach of rights to privacy. It WILL be one of your biggest mistakes!
Yelp (tries to) forces app use
I would like to read some reviews. Yelp has an option to choose online as opposed to app but as soon as I click on 'read more' it will only take me to 'open app'.
I will no longer waste time on yelp.
Review
This platform is so awful. They removed all of my genuine reviews.
Negative -10 review
Negative -10 review - pushy sales people for ads - ads cost quite a bit compared to other platforms - took down 7 legitimate reviews for my small biz that I have had overtime - does not support small business growth unless you shove money into it. Changes information on my profile without my knowledge. Just wow⊠cant believe they are even functioning

Was spending $2000 a month 5 years on yelp then my dad almost died and I got behind on payment for advertising and they were and still are horrible to me
No loyalty poor customer support
unable to reach them

This company is actually picking andâŠ
This company is actually picking and choosing which of my customer reviews are recommended to be shown to potential clients to anyone that looks on my website they think that it's okay to take a beautiful perfectly legit review and not show it as one of my reviews I have contacted customer support and he said that that's not how it works that the system picks and chooses which reviews are shown on my site I don't feel that that is proper I feel that the only way to do it is to show all reviews good or bad should be shown fake reviews should be taken off but a good review or a bad review should definitely be shown as a review no matter what I don't think Yelp should be able to take my reviews down that they've already posted and decided to take down to me this is definitely not fair it's not business like at all.... And last but not least the worst part I was supposed to be getting a 14-day free trial product well they want your credit card for this product so they could bill you after your 14-day trial. Well as soon as I put in my information for my free trial they tried to deduct $50 from my account not once not twice 12 times in a row they tried to deduct $50 from my account on a free trial product and do not recommend Yelp

Issued unauthorized charges, Slimy
Issued unauthorized charges, on a holiday no less, even after expressly agreeing they would not. I had to cancel a business credit card and am going to have to file a dispute, then re-connect all accounts using that credit card, just prior to a trip. Big, big hassle! They totally lied, I'm pretty upset -
Complete scammers
Yelp is the worst place to purchase ads for small business owners. They steal your money. The sales rep I had was so aggressive and rude, her attitude actually saved me from purchasing their ads. After, looking into them further turns out my instincts were correct based on my interaction with her.
I would give zero if It would let me
I would give zero if I would let me. Yelp is atrocious for businesses, I would never ever recommend them as a place to list your business, they call call call and call trying to sell you. Its pay per click, I haven't heard of anyone who had got away with spending less than $300. They hide your reviews, you literally have to pay to get them seen, they recommend competitors on the page, they send fake leads, which miraculously stopped once I made it clear several times that I am not giving them my credit card. now I hear nothing, no calls no leads, the leads they sent me, I responded too within seconds, I not once got an appointment from it. also the lead was coming from a zip code way far away from my business. I hope people do the research.

The sales rep told me that the ads with yelp would be $30 a day, I said $30 a day, he said up to. I said okay he said do you prefer clicks to website or calls. I said calls. He said okay, I have not received any calls and was charged $855 for 24 days! I called they said all was explained in the call, I said lets listen to the recording together. She replied they can't do that but will investigate. They came back and said no it was explained correctly. That is not true! I distinctly stated that I was okay with that but that it would be based on calls. They said it was explained that it was clicks. Don't do it!
Yelp will rob you blind and laugh in your face!
DO NOT for any reason give yelp your credit card info! They are stealing money from tens of thousands of small business owners on a daily basis. This is proven fact, and can be verified by the complains located in the Facebook group "Yelp Exposed".
I was advertising with them until they started taking money out of my account that I did not owe, without my permission. They have provided fake documentation to my bank to fight the dispute, and they are operating outside of the law without a doubt. As of this time, I have not recovered the money that they stole out of my account.
There is no such thing as customer support, as their support lines are set up to put you on perpetual hold. We've proven this on several occasions by leaving the phone online with their hold music for up to 48 hours. You simply cannot get ahold of anyone.
Yelp is simply a money grab. I'm not even going to go into the fake negative reviews that Yelp employees have been proven to post, or the fact that they will delete you positive reviews if you don't pay.
If you doubt me, go watch the movie Billion Dollar Bully. Google it and watch it on Tubi for free. It tells their whole story. They are so bad that someone produced a movie!
Yelp filters out legitimate reviews andâŠ
Yelp filters out legitimate reviews and allows fake reviews to be posted, which make the review system unfair and inconsistent to small business owners. Yelp asks businesses to pay for advertisement in order to show positive reviews.
I am a small business owner and Yelp is the WORST
I am a small business owner. I have my business page on Yelp. I ask each of my clients to leave me a review so I can attract more clients (I mean that is the ENTIRE point of Yelp, right?). I had FIVE clients leave glowing reviews with photos and all were taken down by Yelp's algorithm. I do not have any bad reviews. How is a small business supposed to thrive on this review based website when all reviews get taken down? Yelp sucks. I no longer trust yelp for other business reviews. The algorithm let's you see what it wants you to see.
Shady platform
Completely shady platform that hides reviews from real customers and shows false and misleading reviews from people who barely interacted to the company, and after checking their profiles you can realize that 80-90% reviews they give is bad reviews. This people simply has to be banned from leaving reviews as they as unhappy in their entire life and nothing will make them happy
Yelp is predatory and will scam yourâŠ
Yelp is predatory and will scam your business, they will hide legitimate reviews and show the negative ones especially if you don't pay them anything for advertising. They claimed that they advertised for me, but instead they put a collection on my credit report for services they never rendered! I am going to sue them.
Deceiving and dishonest
As soon as you open a free business page profile with Yelp, you are contacted by a representative who tries to sell you a free trial of paid ads for 2 weeks and telling you that someone will follow up in 2 weeks but no one does and your account starts getting billed without previous notice.
Yelp is just plain cruel
I am a professional with an impeccable reputation in the community. A delusional former client wrote a review ten years after we handled a matter for her. She made up lies about stealing and other crimes which never occurred. She was just looking for a payday and does this all over Yelp. Yelp could care less and only insists we buy their ads and further publicize this defamation. Yelp is cruel.
Yelp has caused me such grief
Yelp has caused me such grief. I am a small business but I had some 5 star good reviews. One fake, miserable, disturbed person wrote a 1 star review under my business and they had never been a customer. I contacted Yelp customer service to ask them what I could do about it and asked them to take it down since they had never been a legit customer. Yelp refused to take it down, as a matter of fact Yelp was very nasty and rude to me as well. Instead of helping me they hid all my good reviews of my business that had been there for years and left the 1 star fake review as if that was my only review. My business now shows my business as only having a 1 star review. They are hateful and try to make you pay a lot money to have bad reviews removed. I have recently found out from other business owners in the same situation, they said they actually paid to have the bad reviews removed but Yelp did not remove them anyway. Do not let this happen to you. Do not do business with Yelp. They are really not in it for the business owner. Do some research, you will see.
Made me YELP!
At first, they offered a good amount of credit to advertise with them. Then all of the hidden agendas and fees came to play when my first pay cycle hit.
I then paused my marketing or so I'd thought. They still hit me with a charge the next pay cycle.
When I'd spoke to them about this, they came to me with a assertive , almost offended tone as if I was to blame for everything.
Secondly: They remove all of you positive reviews if you discontinue their marketing services. Only 1 review shows up for me. When I mentioned this, the sales rep brushed it off and said it was a coincidence. I told him other reviews stated the same thing, he kept with his original statement. Coincidence. So you literally get what you pay for.
Thirdly: I would receive requests from customers asking for a quote or pricing for a specific session. (photography). I would reply with my number or website,/ email only never to hear from them again. I would check up on their yelp accounts to see if they were a real verified user or even had other reviews. Some seemed to check out. Some were Even local reviewers, but for some reason I had this feeling the "request" I would receive were all fake or even placed by the company.
Why would they do that?!
Well for every one of those request you receive, when you reply, you're expected to gain a reply back, Correct?
So YELP charges you a whopping $25 for each time that customer replies...to YOUR reply. Even if it would generate business or not. You were charged.
That's why I would always include another way for them to contact me ( The customer) . and they never would. So I can only assume YELP would block my reply or it was in fact a YELP employee who would send these "Quote request"
They have shady practices. Can they help? Possibly. But it doesn't come cheap. If you have the money to spend, sure but if you're a new business, then no.
