We met with the owner Simon Jones at their premises with the intention of selling our modest coin collection dating from 1988. We had figures in mind influenced by a previous Valuation for insurance purposes and by the recent rise in precious metal prices. Simon examined and costed each coin, explaining the reasons why his figure was often less than our expectation. We accepted his offer in full confidence that it was fair and realistic. It was a most enjoyable and interesting experience.

Sebastian has been fantastic to deal with. He really took the time to understand the coins I was looking for, sourced them promptly, and even called to confirm everything before sending them out. Professional, helpful, and efficient from start to finish. I’m looking forward to buying more when I’m able, and I truly appreciate all his help.

Having made a personal visit to meet Simon and Sebastian at the Cambridge office I can say that we got everything we expected and more. The whole building radiates a warm welcoming feel busy with customers surrounded by historic framed sets of coins and interesting pieces. Simon was genuine, honest, transparent and knowledgeable. We bought on the day and look forward to getting over again soon.

I went to buy some coins and jewellery and was meet with friendly and knowledgeable team Simon was a great help and I got a good deal. I will definitely go again and recommend them to family and friends.

Very low prices compared to how high the market is.

We visited Cambridge Coins to sell my late father’s gold sovereigns and ingots. From the moment we arrived, the whole team made us feel welcome and comfortable. Mark, in particular, looked after us exceptionally well. We felt the price offered was very fair and we were paid promptly. Overall, it was a really pleasant and reassuring experience.

Visited a Event in Royston and was very pleased with the prices I got for my old Jewellery, they also bought all my coins which I collected from a kid.👍

I'd had an old family coin collection in a box for many years with world and UK coins, sets, tokens, notes and numismatic covers. Wanting to sell them I took them to Cambridgeshire Coins and left them there for them to appraise. A couple of days later I received what I considered a pretty lousy offer of around £150. I rang up and after consulting their boss they upped the offer to me. I'd catalogued the whole collection on a numismatic website, so was confident I'd get a better offer elsewhere and I did. I contacted a Kent/ London-based coin auction house who offered 4 x as much to buy the collection outright, but said I could potentially get even more in their next quarterly auction. They cleverly divided the collection into several lots which went under the hammer in their recent auction and in total made nearly £1000, which was in line with the upper limit of the coin auction specialist's estimate.

I found the team really knowledgable, trustworthy and very helpful when valuing my collection. I am especially pleased as they were paying the best prices for the gold coins and a couple of items of jewellery. Thanks for looking after me, I will be back👍

I have visited many Coin sellers in my 20 years of serious collecting and I must say that Simon and his team are extremely Knowledgeable with all things coins and banknotes. Their website is a dream to browse and the ordering and receiving items via special delivery puts my wary mind at rest. Every person I have spoken to on the phone or in person are so polite and willing to help it is a breath of fresh air these days with profit first customer second ethos I find with most other sellers. I will continue doing business with Cambridgeshire Coins for many years to come. Recommend any serious collector to give them a go as their gradings are spot on and i’ve never had an issue. Regards,

Recently sold a broken gold 14ct chain and some silver bits and bobs to Cambridgeshire coins. The price they gave far exceeded other offers I had received. Very quick payment too.

I would highly urge people to reconsider using this company if you’re looking to sell jewellery. In short, it has been 6+ weeks to hear about a ring valuation with 0 communication unless initiated by myself. In response to my negative google review, they stated the details of the jewellery go to a woman in London, and that these valuations take longer due to not having the ring in person. At no point in the one email correspondence that I received from Cambridgeshire Coins, the telephone call I made on the 14th April chasing, the email I sent on the 11th April that was ignored or at the event in person on the 4th April did they inform me of this extended timeframe or that it goes to someone in London. What I was informed of on the 4th April is that I can expect a valuation by the following Monday, hence my ignored follow up on the 11th April. So not only are they non-communicative but also dishonest and clearly unable to take any form of accountability without fabricating excuses. So if you are considering selling jewellery, I would suggest going elsewhere with one of the many other companies that offer complimentary valuations.

I've been to Cambridge Coins twice now to sell some gold coins, and each time has been a genuinely positive experience. The process was clear, fair, and refreshingly straightforward — no jargon, no pressure, just honest dealing. I’d done my homework beforehand, and the prices offered were very competitive. What really stood out, though, was how friendly and welcoming Simon is — he makes what could be a daunting transaction feel relaxed and easy.
